Chapter 129: Chapter 129
My eyes suddenly flew wide open. My heart began to race, and I broke into sweat. My body was trembling extremely, and a weakening feeling overwhelmed my being.
I bit my lower lip hard and took a deep breath to help me calm slightly.
As soon as I had a little control over myself, I took a glance at the room, and I discovered that I was still in the hospital ward. An IV drip connected to my hand
I knitted my brows and tried to recall what had happened.
Soon, the memories before I blacked out came crashing like a wave.
I recalled Oswald wanting to kick me out of the pack because I was pregnant with Wyatt's baby. And how Oswald had revealed to the whole pack the bond we shared
And then the memory of a bright spark suddenly engulfed me, which led to me blacking out.
I groaned and massaged my brows languidly. Now that Oswald has finally done as he wishes and released the truth about our bond, I wonder how the event was finalized during my blackout.
I knew they must have come to a positive agreement of some sort. If not, I won't be in the power axis pack hospital currently receiving treatment.
My brows furrowed. I wondered how Wyatt was faring.
Upon thinking about Wyatt, my racing heart increased its pace and began to race increasingly abnormally again.
A sense of panic began to invade my being. My face contorted into a frown, and I extended my hand to rub my chest in worry. Where's Wyatt? Is he okay?
Thinking about it, whenever I regained my consciousness, Wyatt's voice would always be the first thing that drifted into my ward, but it's already been a few minutes yet I haven't heard or seen Wyatt.
I attempted to stand up and look for Wyatt, but before I could...
"Madam, you're awake." A lady dressed in a black armless top and tight leather pants hurriedly supported me before helping me lie on my back.
My eyes flew wide open, and I stared at the lady, who currently had a kerchief covering the lower part of her face, starting from her nose.
My face contorted in a frown, and I eyed her. I didn't even notice her presence all along.
Despite the thoughts coursing through me, I took a deep breath and stared at the lady solemnly. "Where's Wyatt? I want to see him now." I conveyed while staring at her seriously.
My face contorted in a frown, finding something amiss. The nagging feeling in my heart increases.
Normally, Wyatt will always stay next to me, and he'll always be the first person I see whenever I wake up, but this time, why is a lady next to me? And why is my heart beating so fast as if something bad is about to or has occurred?
The more thoughts that ran through my mind, the more uneasy and jittery I felt.
The lady evaded my solemn gaze and smiled at me patiently instead. "Madam, you've just woken up after a few days of blackout. I'll call the doctor first." She expressed patience, brushing off my request.
My lips parted in a gasp. I've been blacked out for a few days. No wonder I felt so weak all over.
Then how many days has it been since my blackout? Wyatt must have been so worried. I blinked curiously. "How many days is it now?" My eyes were fixated on her anxiously.
"It's been six days now," she responded gently.
I froze, and my eyes flew wide in shock. It's been six days that I've blacked out. So long? My lips parted in a gasp, and I found it hard to believe that I'd been gone for so long, all because of that overwhelming spark. What is it anyway?
Yet that's one of the reasons the nagging feeling kept seeping in more. If it's been so long since I've been out, then where's Wyatt?
My throat parched, causing me to cough gently. I clenched my hospital clothes and pointed to the bottle of water placed on a table. "Wa... Water." I stuttered due to my throat.
The lady raised her hand and gently smacked her head with her hand as if chiding herself for forgetting to do an important task.
"I'm so sorry, madam." She cried out and hurriedly poured the water into the cup. She lifted the cup next to my lips immediately.
Upon realizing something, I paused. I've been so engrossed in the Wyatt issue that I didn't bother to confirm if the lady was truly from Wyatt or if she was sent to hurt me and my baby.
However, recalling how patient she was and how nice she seemed, I stared at her and the water intently and suspiciously. The water won't hurt me, right?
Thinking about it, pure and innocent-looking people hurt the most. It's better to be safe than sorry. Now that I have a pup in me, I need to be very careful. Although my body is immune to poison, it can't be the same for my fetus.
"Beta Wyatt brought the bottle of water into the ward. If madam is worried about whether it's harmful or not, we can check the hospital CCTV camera." The lady suddenly conveyed as if she knew what I was thinking.
I exhaled in relief, knowing that Wyatt must have ordered her to tell me that so I would know that the lady was truly sent by Wyatt.
I nodded and collected the cup of water before raising it towards my mouth to drink.
Before I could gulp the water, the lady turned to leave the room. "I'll be back, madam. I have to call in the doctor." She announced, and before I could blink, she walked out of the room.
My brows knitted in a frown. Why does the lady seem evasive, as if she doesn't want to talk about the Wyatt issue?
She could have called the doctor by pressing the ring placed next to my bed. Does she have to leave my room to call the doctor in?
A smirk lit up my face. Well, it doesn't matter. I'll get to know what I want to know, regardless of how she tried to hide the truth from me.
I'm not worried that Wyatt left me. Not at all. I'm only worried that Wyatt has done something he shouldn't have done for me.
I tried to use the mind-link to call and talk to Wyatt.
Alas! Wyatt had blocked me, causing my uneasiness to grow.
I placed the cup of water on the table and lay on the bed, waiting for the doctor's appearance.
Although I wanted to see Wyatt so badly for my... our baby, I can't take rash actions.
"Good day, Madam, how are you feeling?" The familiar doctor stepped into the ward and queried me as she walked towards me. She flashed me a patient and motherly smile. "Do you feel any pain in any part of your body?"
I nodded my head and honestly replied to all the questions the doctor asked while examining me.
"Madam will still be put on admission for observation since we weren't able to find the reason for the blackout yet." The doctor explained to me, and I nodded in response.
As soon as the doctor was done talking to me, she packed her things and turned to leave, but before she could, I grabbed her.
The doctor stopped in her tracks and turned to me in bewilderment. "Miss?"
"Where's Wyatt?" I asked while staring at her reaction intently to discover something through it.
The doctor seemed taken aback by the question, but in the next minute, she smiled and quickly yet gently removed my hand that was holding her hand. "I'm sorry, madam, it's not my position to talk..."
My eyes flew wide, and my fist clenched. What does the doctor mean by it wasn't her position to tell? Did something bad occur to Wyatt? It can't be that's the reason my heart was racing abnormally?
I stared at her anxiously and worriedly. "What do you mean? Did something happen to Wyatt?" I questioned her and got off the bed immediately, making sure that my IV drip was well connected.
The doctor and the lady immediately exclaimed at my brazen action. They reached out to stop me, but I quickly evaded their hold.
After hearing the doctor's reply, regardless of what might happen, I'm going to search for Wyatt. What I only cared about was to see Wyatt. I began to make my way towards the door. "I'm going to search for Wyatt now..."
The lady hurriedly stretched out her hand towards me. "Madam, please wait. There's nothing wrong with beta. It's just that the pack is currently in a state of war." She hurriedly let out within a breath, as if she were afraid that if she inhaled through words, I'd have disappeared.
"War?" My heart skipped a beat, and I froze at the word. The pack is currently at war? The power axis pack is a top werewolf pack; which pack dares to attack them? I paused in my tracks and turned to the lady and the doctor. "With whom?" Even though I tried to ask calmly, my voice betrayed me by coming out shaky.
"It's the vampire tribe. The vampires suddenly attacked the pack on the day the miss fainted." The lady's eyes turn cold, and her fist clenches as if she can't wait to tear the members of the vampire tribe apart.
The doctor bowed to me and slipped out of the ward immediately.
Upon hearing the lady's words, my eyes flew wide open in shock. "The vampire tribe?" Doesn't that mean that Rex is currently in the power axis pack? And he's here to cause trouble? Thinking about how Rex knew the way around the power axis pack...
I suddenly felt cold all over, and my weak body turned weaker. I had to lean onto the wall for support so I wouldn't crash onto the floor.
Rex must have gotten news about my pregnancy. I guess the news must have made him spark with anger so much that it led to his attacking the power axis pack.
