Chapter 92: Chapter 92

" I heard that the master brought a woman back to his house."

" What do you say first? A woman? Who is she? And for what purpose?"

" It seems obvious to me... This woman is his lover if we are to believe the words of the servants. He carried her in his arms and brought her back to his apartment."

" A woman out of nowhere? Could it be that he has already chosen his Luna? And by extension our queen?"

The three Soul Moon elders were silent for a moment before one of them slammed his fist on the table startling the others.

" This is unacceptable. Our pack is not a joke, already this young greenhorn allows himself to disrespect us by not listening to our wise advice for the management of this pack, he should not bring us back anyone imposing her on us as Luna."

" Please measure your words to the third age. This is our Alpha, the supreme being that we have been waiting for for centuries. He can allow himself a few whims provided that it does not tarnish the honor of Soul Moon with other packs and the Alliance."

The man who had just insulted Greg gritted his teeth before speaking.

" You are far too obsessed with this fact. I understand that our Alpha has a power that we thought was lost for centuries, which makes him a treasure for the whole lycanthrope species, but you spoil him a little too much that he tends to exaggerate. He doesn't listen to our advice and usually goes against our wishes. He should have married Serena but he rejected her saying she was not his soul mate. I'm not even talking about the other girls who were sent to his rooms and who came out with their feet first. And today, as if by magic, he brings us back a stranger and wants to impose her on us as queen? Don't you think our Alpha is getting a little too selfish?"

The other people remained silent pondering the words of the third elder as the latter smiled contentedly.

" So what do you propose for, third elder?"

He smirked in his calculating eyes.

" It's obvious ... Bring Selena back from abroad and make her our Luna."

" Can we impose a mate on our Alpha? I point out to you that this is a personal matter, it is blessed by the goddess of the moon herself then…"

" Stop shaking with fear, second eldest. Selena is the right one alongside our Alpha. And she's also the one who should be our queen, so we have to call a special meeting to make our voice heard by this pretentious kid."

The first elder was silent for a moment before standing up.

" Where are you going?"

" I have to speak to Lady Elsa."

" I am sure that she does not know the pranks that her nephew is committing. As a result, it would be wise for you to say a word to her about it. We are counting on you."

The first elder did not respond as the second elder also rose to follow him.

"Okay, I'll go there myself. I have many tasks awaiting me indeed."

The third elder nodded as he was left alone, smiling like a snake reaching for his cell phone to make a call.

" Yes, master... No, the plan is going as planned, she will arrive in a few hours, I have everything planned. Don't worry, I've forced things enough to make the current come our way. Yes, I promise you it will be done."

He hung up before getting up, going to the window to find the first elder in front of his vehicle as his driver opened the door for him.

" Hm, this man seems to me not to agree with my ideas. Already he devotes a fanatical admiration to the Alpha, I can understand that he does not accept my thoughts. It can become annoying in the future especially if he decides to thwart my plans... Should I get rid of him for more security?"

He stroked his beard watching the old man's car drive away.

I was in Greg's room, my alpha as he sat with his back to me. He still hadn't said a word to me and it was starting to bother me more than reason. This heavy and uncomfortable atmosphere was frankly too much for me so I moved to be able to touch him but he got up at the last second.

"You should go take a shower."

He said it curtly as I once again felt rejected. However, I nodded at his command and walked into the bathroom.

Left alone, Greg ran his hand through his hair and took a deep breath. Frankly, he doesn't know how to react to Sophia. It was not expected that he would introduce himself like this to her but when he saw this man take Sophia in his arms, he saw red and couldn't control himself. He hates it when he's cold with her but he can't control himself. She's his wife and it's normal for him to be possessive of her. It's not normal that she finds herself having secret meetings with another man, especially if the reason is unknown to him.

She's hiding something from him and that's what makes him sick, he needs her to tell him the truth. He needs her to trust him and confide in him. It's not the fact that she meets him in secret, even if it annoys him, it's the fact that he knows that she does it for a reason that escapes him. He needs to know what it is so he can continue to believe he can trust her. It kills him that he begins to doubt her but the situation leaves him no choice. He wants to know what is the connection between Sophia and the Shield of Rain, he would have liked to hear the tenor of their conversation but he couldn't. He must therefore wait for the investigation into Sophia's mother to be successful and to have the hope of removing the fog on the enigma which separates him from the truth.

Sophia came out of the bathroom sometime later and he turned to find her face downcast and looking guilty. He doesn't like it so he sighed, she told him she only had him, it was up to him to wait and not force her.

He advanced toward her as he saw her jump at his immediate presence at her side.

" I know you're angry... You even have the right but I assure you that it's not what you think…"

It sounds wrong even to me but I can't stand him looking at me with those cold eyes. I heard a sigh and looked up at him to read his expression before seeing him crack a soft smile.

" I still haven't explained to you how I end up being your alpha, have I?"

If he wants her to be honest with him, maybe he should be honest with her. He's not patient or understanding when people lie to him, but that's with others, Sophia is different, he wants to believe her even if she lies to him openly and shamelessly.
