Chapter 68: Chapter 68
Greg had just hung up after Sophia's call to his more pleasant mood. He was so angry since he left the hospital that he had only one thing in mind, to eliminate all traces of the members of the Shield of Rain, the wandering rogue wolves, and this sect which was already taking too much scale in the city of Capital City. All these things, therefore contributed to making him easily irritable, which Aisha did not fail to point out.
" Master of the Lycanthrope Clan, I know that what is happening now and especially on your territory irritates you but try to calm down."
He looked around seeing that some creatures were choking on his pheromones and he decided to calm down for the sake of the meeting.
Indeed, after leaving Elias's bedside, he used the artifact that Aisha had given him a few days earlier. if the desire to reunite arose and he therefore decided after this affront to take the bull by the horns and bring in the other two main Clan leaders.
But he had also asked Aisha not to restrict this meeting to only the three Clans even if they were servant clans. There were some other Clans subject to the first such as the ghouls who were the servants of the bats, the gnomes, the dwarves, and the goblins.
All these creatures live in harmony even if the balance of power exists. But the equality of opportunities in this cosmopolitan city of Capital City where even humans live is open and great.
The only rule apart from the non-aggression pact is of course and above all, the one that prohibits any creature, regardless of its nature, from revealing to humans.
The supernatural world must remain secret to ordinary mortals forever.
When he arrived, he found all the Clan leaders sitting around a table as Aisha spoke to them taking stock of the situation. Duke Vangard, as usual, didn't seem concerned by everything that was going on around him, as if the only fact that his little brother was involved the last time would have been the only time he could have an interest.
He took a seat and the talks began when already some were trying to retract saying that their race was far too insignificant to get involved in this sort of thing.
The ghouls.
He never appreciated these cowards. They hide behind bats to feed, especially when it's hunting season.
Once every five years, exceptionally, many humans are released in a part of the city according to the hypnosis that bats have carried out on prison directors. Death row inmates from all over the country are released into the forest where the bats have a field day.
Drained of their blood, the corpses will serve as a meal for the ghouls.
These cowards have always taken advantage of the notoriety of bats and something tells him that these cowards kill humans even outside of hunting times.
Cases of sudden disappearances would be a perfect excuse for these raptors.
" We don't have exceptional abilities, so ghouls couldn't interest this sect, do we?"
" You are wrong. As a mythical creature, no one is immune to this threat, and need I remind you that ghouls have a faculty that these people might be interested in?"
" It's true... Your ability to mature. This ability is very dangerous for certain creatures, so don't act like you're not concerned."
The discussions resumed well while some were already getting angry.
The longer it went, the harder it was for Greg to keep calm. He hadn't said anything yet since the beginning, preferring to listen to what the others had to say on that matter. Maybe he would have useful information in the process but the more it progressed, the more it was a waste of time.
He therefore unconsciously released his pheromones, the rarity of which even affects other creatures apart from lycanthropes.
Many gasped when Aisha caught his eye but at the same time, his phone started ringing.
He frowned hoping no more bad news would come but luckily it was Sophia's number.
Great pleasure filled his heart as he picked up the phone. She seemed a bit shy and he imagined her embarrassment after what they had done the night before.
The meeting was thus taken for this evening when he hung up and returned around the table.
" It's not about who is directly involved or not in this story, all groups of creatures around this table and even those absent are concerned. The objective of this sect is still unknown to this day and nobody here, I mean nobody can claim to say that it has nothing to do with him. Do not wait for a situation to occur to begin to act, now is the time to act."
" Master Trent is right. These people must be found before their actions begin to bring human attention to our world."
Aisha spoke as everyone was calmer now and more apt for discussion. For more than two hours, everyone was made aware of what happened recently and an information network was set up. They had to stick together and succeed in flushing out all these assholes who want to upset the stability and peace in this city.
The meeting ended when Greg was about to leave but Aisha held him back.
" Master Trent... Would you have a moment to spare for me?"
Greg looked at this woman while her face was serious. He nodded and the two isolated themselves a little further.
" I'm listening to you."
" How is my sister? Scarlet?"
Greg sighed, he knows that Aisha must be angry with him and his pack because her sister and the very one who should have become their leader decided to follow his aunt and since given up her place as the dean of the witches.
" She is fine. I see you still aren't talking to each other."
" She is stubborn but well, I just want to know how she does."
"She's fine, don't worry."
Aisha smiled before nodding her head.
" Well, is that what you have to tell me?"
" No, of course, I discovered the existence of a church in a slum. There is a very strange human who shouts to anyone who wants to hear that he has seen creatures of darkness in the forest. For the moment people take him for a madman but with what is happening in recent days, I fear that this is a way for these terrorists to weaken this equilibrium."
