Chapter 42: Chapter 42
Aisha and Duke Vangard stood by the broken window that Greg had jumped out of moments earlier. He had seemed pressed by a fact and they could understand it since he was Clan's leader but not only.
With the events that had just taken place, he certainly has a lot to do and the fact that he was in such a hurry to leave only means one thing: he has received urgent information that will have required his immediate presence. Even though his departure is very rude, especially for someone who has been holding the host card all along, it's obvious he didn't have a choice.
Aisha knows it and Duke Vangard admits it. The leader of the lycanthropes may be young, but he is a person attached to the ancient values and traditions that have always governed the friendly relations between the Clans since the peace treaty.
Even if from what they saw, some would try to break this peace... At least that's the impression it gives, especially if we see that the leader of the lycanthropes has been kept in the dark about the missives of the witch queen.
" It was impressive."
Duke Vangard pulled Aisha out of her contemplation and she turned to him for an explanation.
" I want to talk about his power. Until now I had never realized the extent of this power...
" I want to talk about his power. Until now I had never realized the extent of this power...It's very impressive but also…"
"Dangerous. Indeed, the eyes power of this boy is incredible. It seems to me that chiropterans control living beings thanks to the blood that flows through their veins and that it's quite difficult to make them obey like puppets on the end of a string. But he doesn't need to do it. Indeed, by biting them the target may be tougher or has just to drink a concoction against vampires which will protect him from the charms of bats, preventing him from succumbing to their fictitious love. Moreover, even for the strongest of you to control a mind is very difficult, the most powerful managing to control only a limited number of people at the same time... But with this young man, it's different. I thought I heard he could control a dozen or more people."
Duke Vangard frowned, glaring fiercely at Aisha who smiled.
" The particularity of witches is research. We crave knowledge and not just for our spells...It's always best to find out about those we relate to...safety measures".
" I imagine that you have now understood the power of this boy."
" Not quite…"
She smiled slyly before calling the witches who had just been rescued and retrieving the kidnapper's body under the reproving gaze of Duke Vangard.
" What are you doing? It's not up to you to get that body back. The fact that the leader of the lycanthropes had an emergency does not…"
"Calm down Duc Vangard... As I told you, one of the wild activities of witches is research, so of course, we will seek to understand what is going on in the body of this man. I am convinced that the leader of the lycanthropes will be more reassured if I am the one who recovered the body of this man, rather than the members of his Clan who I believe, he doesn't fully trust them."
Duke Vangard frowned at the arrogance of this witch's words and the fact that she was so sure of herself.
"You seem sure of yourself."
" And I am. This boy is way smarter than you think."
The Duke didn't comment further until Aisha and the other witches left.
" Honorable dean ... Now that we are alone, can you explain to us what happened earlier? We have not understood how the leader of the lycanthropes managed to control this man. He seemed to keep his mind and reason intact which is not the case with those controlled by bats, but this man just couldn't control his actions acting against his will."
" I still can't put a plausible explanation on this power but from the little I've seen, one could think of fascination."
"Fascination?"
"Indeed, It does look like it. This boy has controlled this man's will to reveal to his soul and conscience what he wants to know. It's a psychic torture to fight against your own will and to lose and I guess that, if you don't die you lose your reason forever broken by this manipulation of the mind."
"As if someone had fun disassembling and then reassembling the pieces of your mind according to their tastes?"
" Yes."
The girl who talked swallowed heavily.
"It's frightening."
" It is indeed, to be taken into account."
They left for the side of their territory as Greg finally arrived in front of a panicked and on-edge Elsa lying on the floor panting.
In the center of the room, Sophia was in a trance as her pheromones in the form of tentacles destroyed the room they were in.
" What happened here?"
He asked as he was blocking Sophia's pheromones which were attacking Elsa causing her to bleed from her mouth.
She sat up slightly wiping her lips before speaking.
" I don't know… She concentrated for the first stage of the training then she started releasing her pheromones without control."
" shit... She couldn't tame her wolf."
" What to do ?"
"Don't worry... I won't let anything happen to my Luna."
Elsa smiled as Greg walked up next to Sophia and taking her in his arms, he pressed his lips to hers stepping into her world.
