Jessy showed me to my room and I dropped by suitcase entering the adjoining bathroom as I was exhausted. Both physically and morally.

I just felt grateful that I got to meet Jessy even though the circumstances weren't appropriate. Granted, but afterwards he caught up and tried to help me as best he could, even if in the end it was useless.

I'm not saying it's his fault either, it's obviously because of this resentful old madman and prisoner of the past who didn't want to listen to me.

I sighed, glad Jessy still came to help me, I'll still be on the street if not caught in a trap again with another trafficker who I'm sure wouldn't have been as wonderful as Jessy.

I sighed before thinking back to my parents.

"Do you think that's why that Alpha took such vicious revenge on my parents and the pack?"

I made a weird face finding that my wolf seemed more excited by the idea than me, it looked like he was the one carrying his “cubs”. Frankly, this thought horrifies me a bit, marking me, having babies per litter, it's like a biology lesson for animals. It really makes me feel weird.

** I am excited indeed because soon we will be one. And as your wolf, I can't wait to be marked by my soul mate, to unite with him and give birth to his young. I feel so happy.**

" I imagine."

I rolled my eyes before letting the water trickle down my body. Jessy told me he was going to get me some food so I'm just going to wait and after eating well, I'm going to sleep like a log for a long time. My birthday at least now I will refer to it as the coming of age ceremony will be in three days and I now feel beyond nervous.

Before it wouldn't have put me in this state, I'd be pretty excited but now I'm shaking with fear and uncertainty.

My inner wolf may reassure me that everything will be fine, but I'm still in a state of nerves that prevent me from thinking logically.

We started laughing while downstairs Jessy was in front of Tom.

Jessy pouted before scowling.

Jessy swallowed heavily. Even if Tom took him in in memory of his mother, he is not sure that he would agree to take in another member of the Shield of Rain, especially the Alpha's grand child and therefore Sam's daughter. He must keep it a secret at least until Sophia comes of age and can fend for herself in this dangerous town.

"Well she's pretty so I decided to enjoy her company a bit more before she's sold to those rich perverts.Fine, but before I tried anything she spotted I was a lycan. I swear to you that I too was very surprised. To believe that her senses are very developed despite the fact that she is not yet awake. She must be a blood alpha..."

Jessy was talking when he felt Tom's hand grip his neck as Tom's gaze was wild.

"For your own safety, never do anything like that or with the intention of seducing that girl again.I know your insecurities and the fact that you're desperately looking for an alpha partner but it won't be that girl you understand? She can't be your partner if you care about your life, get that crazy idea out of your head right now."

Jessy had never seen Tom like this. He was scary at the same time but deep in his eyes he could glimpse a whole other feeling. It was fear.

A rather rare feeling for this impetuous man but there the man seemed to have the devil in the buttocks.

" Tom... Please let me go, you're hurting me."

Tom let go before he swore, causing his hair to be slicked back nervously. He had lost his temper, but who could blame him? He has accepted a job that could cost him his life if he is not careful. The man who protects this girl is known as a monster who does not hesitate to kill anyone who disturbs him, no matter if it is a member of his own family.

Normal that he became the Alpha of his pack at such a young age.

He picked up his smoking cigarette again to calm his nerves as Jessy approached him.

" Tom who is this girl really and why are you getting so nervous?"

Jessy was curious now, Tom had never had such an outburst, of all men he was the one who always knew how to keep his cool, so why did he react like this.

"It's not important, at least you don't need to know. All I want you to do is keep your emotional distance from this girl. You must never be interested in her or you will die."

Jessy lowered his head before clenching his fists.

" Did her predestined partner come to see you? Is it him who frightens you so much?"

Tom sighed, this kid is way too smart for his good.

" Sophia Carpenter is the protégé of a very powerful alpha. You will soon know."
