Chapter 119: Chapter 119
I was sitting next to Greg as I had a laptop in front of me. I had to make a detailed report of the meeting that was taking place at the moment and frankly considering the atmosphere, I felt almost suffocated and would have preferred to be somewhere else. I didn't know that my nice Greg could be so scary in front of mere humans. Though I've seen him scary before as a lycanthrope.
A few hours earlier, we arrived at the office, each busy with his work. Come to think of it, when it comes to work, it seems like nothing matters around Greg anymore. He's so engrossed in the documents on his desk that I feel like nothing exists in his mind. It's so impressive that I took the time to observe him more intently as I let go of my tasks.
" You should concentrate on your work instead of looking at me."
He didn't look at me as he said it but his tone made it clear that I shouldn't be distracted during work hours. How does he manage to concentrate when I'm around? I would have thought he would be in the same state as me. I just can't look away as my super hot guy sits across from me showering me with his sweet, tender scent. It's not easy, so how does he do it? He's probably more professional than I'll ever be, which is why he's this business mogul.
I blushed in embarrassment before looking down at my work, it was quite simple despite not having the proper training, but must say that Greg knows how to show me how to work, and with the notes from Elias, I can say that I will soon be a real assistant.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Travis."
I lowered my head in embarrassment before going back to my work.
" I just ask you to work, no need for these formalities. It bothers me more than anything."
" It's true, but I don't want to find myself in the situation of my first day at work. Your employees must not suspect the kind of relationship that binds us otherwise dirty rumors will spread about you."
" I don't care, you should already know that."
I smiled, I knew he would say something like that. But that's not the point.
" I know that having a mate like me must be an unparalleled honor and that you would like to brag about it but listen, I don't know who is spying on me, who is watching my every move to report them to the pack. I'm already not very popular, so imagine if they find out that their dear Luna is having an affair with her boss... It's going to cause a stir and it could lead some to take too close an interest in Greg Travis. I know you want to keep your two lives distinct and separate from each other so drawing attention to me would be shooting yourself in the foot. Do you know what I mean?"
Greg raised an eyebrow before smiling. He had already thought about it but frankly, he had no intention of acting recklessly either even if it was going to be hard with Sophia walking around him. To think that she would think it alone like that, he thinks that she is ready to lead the pack by his side.
" You're right sweetie... So you can call me whatever you want at the office."
I smiled before hearing a knock on the door. Greg ushered the person in and soon a rather puny man walked in.
" President, hmm sorry to disturb you but it's almost time. You know the meeting of the marketing department is going to start and…"
Greg had changed completely, his face had become more distant and impenetrable as he raised his hand, a cold aura surrounding him.
The poor man in front had his head down and his limbs shaking as he waited for Greg to speak.
What did that tyrant look like?
" Miss Carpenter followed me to the meeting room with all the documents on my desk. Don't forget your laptop either. I want a thorough report of everything that comes up at the meeting."
Wow, what a drastic change in attitude, it doesn't look like my tender and sweet love. Yes, we are indeed at the office and we have to make the effort to remain professional but at this level, it looks like a completely different person in front of me. If I did not know him, I would say that Greg has a duplication of personality justifying the two identities it represents.
" Well, president."
Greg got up from his desk, the puny man following him as I went to gather everything Greg had asked of me. Just because I'm his Luna doesn't mean I have to work carelessly, so I took the trouble to get all the paperwork and checked if I hadn't forgotten anything. I grabbed the laptop and ran behind Greg down the hallway, making sure no documents fell.
We arrived in the meeting room and several people were already seated waiting for Greg.
When they saw him, they all got up to greet him with their heads bowed as a sign of respect, I would say more like submission.
How terrifying Greg can be, I wonder.
He went to sit in his CEO chair as the puny man sat down in the empty seat, I stood there for a moment spacing out before I felt the eyes on me.
" S.. sorry."
I ran over to Greg who nodded asking me to sit next to him pulling the chair behind him. I heard gasps before glancing critically at Greg. He had just done something unnecessary again that drew people's attention to us.
** What with that look, honey?**
**Is this really where I should sit?**
** No, my assistant's place is over there on the corner, but hey, I don't like to feel you are far from me **
** And you say it so calmly? Look at their dumbfounded faces, I told you not to draw attention to us**
** I do what I want, baby. And they have no say in it**
** But**
" The meeting is about to begin."
Greg's cold voice ended our telepathic discussion as I glared at him. He will laugh well, I'll see who will laugh the last, but for the moment, what was this suffocating atmosphere there? Why right after Greg's sentence the whole room has the impression of having covered itself with a thick dark and depressing coat.
Greg stops being so scary to these poor men and women.
