David approached the manager and they talked but I can barely hear them because they are a bit far from me. After a while, David called me and we followed the manager. He led us to a table for two on the top floor we even ride the elevator to get there. It was so beautiful and I can't help but say wow. I was not aware that David heard me. He turned to me and smiled.
"It is beautiful out here isn't it?" He said and winked at me. I stick my tongue out at him and he just laughed.
"Let's hurry, I need to get this over with. I got a lot of works that needs to be done." I said.
"I told you, let us eat first. I will treat you as a way to ask forgiveness because of how I behaved during our last encounter. I misjudged you." He sincerely said.
"I have no idea what you are talking about," I said acting innocent but somehow I am nervous because it seems that David has an idea what is really going on.
Our order came and the food just like before really looks delicious and I am sure it tastes the same of how it looks. Just the smell of it, I realized that I am starving. In the meantime, I forgot why I am in this place which I and my beloved man shared some memories. Also, the reason why I am with this man who is also very close and special to the man I love.
"Emily, first and foremost, I would like to apologize for the way I behave during my godson's birthday. I do hope you could forgive me, especially the words I said. Second, stop acting innocent like you don't know what I am talking about." He said.
We just finished eating when David spoke. I did not say a word so he then speak again.
"I am talking about Lindsay." He proactively said. So my intuition was right.
"D-david wh-hat do you kn-now?" I asked to stutter.
"Everything, Emily. As in all of it." He said while looking straight into my eyes. I can't avoid his gaze.
"I am scared." I honestly said.
Even if I tried so hard I was not able to control my tears this time. I cried so hard and my shoulders are shaking while sobbing.
"Emily, are you all right?" Asked David who immediately attended to me and hugged me while giving me a back rub.
"No, David. I am not, I don't know what to do, I got no one to turn to. If I tell Federico it will put my family in danger and now that you know it will definitely put them in danger." I said.
"No, that will never happen. I will do all my best to help you, Emily. I will never let my friend get hurt again because of that woman. That b*t** ruined him again." David said angrily like he is ready to kill someone.
I don't know but that night I feel relieved that someone assured me that everything will be okay and that he will do his best to help me. I feel at ease because I know that David is true to his words. I know that I will be safe.
"I have been investigating that woman since she broke up with her lover for Federico." He started.
"But why?" I asked curiously.
"From the day that she did such a horrible thing to my best friend I know she is someone that will do nothing but trouble and I am right." He said proudly.
"I know her kind, she is someone who will do anything for money just like my mother." He continued.
I remember before I left during Rick's birthday, I heard Federico say a lot of awful words to David about how he was ignorant of a mother's love.
"What do you mean, David? It is okay if you are not comfortable answering my question." I said.
"Nah, it is fine with me. I would love the world to know how wicked that woman is." He said and I can see so much hatred I his eyes.
"David," I uttered his name out of pity.
This is the second time that I see anger on David's face. I always see him happy and witty all the time. The first time was during my son's birthday and the second time is now. But at this point, it is really different because it is not just anger but so much hatred. I can see the fire in his eyes because of intense anxiety and grudge.
"She left me and my father for another man because that man is very rich and powerful. Dad is just an ordinary man. He is just an average earner. She is that heartless." He said.
"So that is how you found out about the agreement between me and Lindsay is because you are watching all her moves?" I asked, trying to change the topic so David's attention will be diverted. I don't want him to feel a negative feeling anymore. I feel bad for him.
He then turned to me and smiled mischievously. Thank God the normal David is back.
"Wait, not just that one, there's more. She committed a crime so we will put her behind bars and then you will have a happy ever after with my fake brother." He proudly replied.
"What crime? What did she do?" I asked and the fear that I had felt before just came back. So I am really right she has the ability to kill someone. What she told me back then in the hospital was all true.
"She killed her lover because he is getting in her way to win back Federico. He asked Lindsay to just start a new life and forget all their plans. You see, this man was Lindsay's close friend since their toddler days and they fell in love with each other along the way. Since Lindsay is a very ambitious and materialistic girl, when she met Federico and he showed interest in her she grabbed the opportunity and told him that she is single. She and her lover made a plan that she will make Federico fall so much in love with her until he will asked for marriage. After the marriage, she will kill Federico so she can have all his riches and they will get married after two years from Federico's supposed to be death. Luckily, while they were discussing that evil plan my friend heard them." David stated.
