Chapter 28: Chapter 28

My wolf is definitely enjoying this. She had been bugging me for the last few days and she finally got what she wanted and she is loving it. Adrenaline pumps through my body. The excitement never-ending and wanting to push on. To keep going and not turn back. I feel complete and whole, like a normal wolf.

With every connection my wolf's paws made with the ground I felt a whole new level of excitement and thrill. The never ending forest felt like home and the smell of grass and leaves fills my nose as I pad through the forest loving everything about it.

The trees,

The grass,

The tiniest bushes,

The forest smell.

I definitely love this forest. I cannot believe Isaac's pack has this forest all to themselves. Running in here sure makes everything seem perfect. Like the outside world does not currently matter and is unrecognizable. The excitement rushing through my body as I follow after the white wolf in front of me. This is our second run together and I am so thrilled that it is on his pack this time. Soon to be our pack.

When I am officially Luna of this pack, I am gonna come here for a run every week. My wolf purrs at the thought of finally being Luna but a load of realization hits me hard.

Isaac and I just sorted out the first problem in our relationship. How am I supposed to be Luna when I just sorted things with him? How am I even going to be Luna, I am going to have to leave home and live with him and take care of a pack? I am not even certain if I would even be a worthy Luna.

Who the fuck am I kidding, we are still trying to get on the same page. He has not marked me yet and we have not completed the mating process. Being Luna is like at the bottom list of everything. I first have to get over my anxiety and fully put my trust in Isaac. I have to trust. I trust him. I need to trust him. Fully, enough to let him leave a mark on my body.

Isaac stops in front of me making me halt to a very abrupt stop. I almost bump into his wolf because of the abrupt stop but I bring my paws to a stop. I look at his white wolf staring at my brown wolf. His blue green eyes bore into my brown ones until he turns behind a tree and before I can even count, he comes back in his full human form with a pair of shorts hanging loosely around his waist.

My wolf purrs hungrily at the sight of Isaac without a shirt. It is like all my wolf has been doing around him today is purr. Isaac lets out a velvety and melodic chortle as he runs a hand through my fur.

"Come on. Go and shift back." Isaac gesture to a nearby tree while handing me the small bag where he packed clothes for when we shifted back.

I grab the bag and place it in between my teeth like Isaac had done throughout the whole run and turn around the nearest tree. Changing into Isaac's boxer shorts and one of his shirts which covers up most of the shorts.

This run was very unexpected and unplanned for. When Isaac went upstairs saying we were going to finish the "moment" I stubbornly remained glued to the floor and did not move an inch until Isaac came back down laughing with a bag in his hands saying he was joking and that we were going for a run.

Due to the excitement of not being let out for a few days, my wolf shifted immediately when I stepped outside and as lucky as I am my clothes ripped to shreds. So here I am wearing Isaac's clothes because he offered and my wolf decided to betray me.

"These clothes are fucking huge. The shorts feel like they're going to fall off." I complain as I turn around from behind the tree.

"It would be to my advantage if they fall off." Isaac smirks.

"Pervert minded asshole." I mutter under my breath.

He shakes his head and is about to say something else but swallows it and starts walking ahead. I follow after him and try to avoid any sharp tree stumps or foreign items because I am bare footed. I look up at him, only a few feet away from me when he stops.

"Why did we stop?" I ask, walking up to him and stopping right in front of him.

"Because I have something to show you or rather someone." He says with a smile, hidden mischief glinting in his eyes and a roguish smile.

"Okay, where is this 'something or rather someone'?" I trudge over to him and try to avoid the anticipation hitting at me. Almost like a sixth sense but I feel like I will like this “something or rather someone”.

Isaac grabs my arm and starts leading us towards a bunch of scattered trees. After walking for a little while I notice the clearing in front of us with a house in the middle.

If it was not for the flowers around the house and the homely vibe it gave off, the house would have qualified to be one of those huts in a horror movie. More like a small cabin in the woods but that seems naturally in this pack since most of the houses are spaced.

"Come on." Isaac says trudging towards the house and I am left with no other option but to follow him.

Isaac knocks on the door once we reach the porch. I stand behind him just in case something terrifying comes out, it would get him first and I would be able to run for my life. Just talking about survival, nothing personal.

Isaac looks at me and chuckles silently. "Very noble of you." Isaac remarks sarcastically.

At times I seriously forget that he can read my thoughts. If only he could stay out of my mind for a second and stop invading my privacy. Really deep and crazy things roam my mind and no one should be caught exploring it.

"I'm just pointing out that if I had to decide which one would die and which one would live between the two of us, you would be the one to die." I shrug, giving him a playful smile.

I know very well that that is a lie. A very strong lie indeed. I would not survive without him. He is my other half after all. If anything I would do my worst just to avoid losing him and I know deep down that he would do the same for me. I do trust him with my life.

But you don’t trust him enough to let him mark you! The little voice in my head nags me at my hypocrisy.

"You hurt me. Right here." He replies playfully pointing to his chest.

"You'll get over it." I reply and on queue the door opens revealing a woman probably in her late thirties to forty. She can be older since werewolf aging is slower than humans, and at times a woman in her late fifties may look like they are in their late twenties. One of the perks of being a werewolf

Immediately she sees Isaac, she pulls him into a tight hug. I would not want to be him right now.

I do not have a thing against hugs, in fact I like torturing my family with bone crushing hugs. I just do not like tight ones. It is like someone invading all my space.

"Quid agis [how are you]?" She greets Isaac in Latin while pinching his cheeks motherly. I almost laugh at the action.

"Deliciae [sweetheart], this is Aleisa." Isaac introduces and the woman finally pays attention to me. "Aleisa, this is Nina."

"Heus [hi]!" I wave at her.

"Wow she can speak Latin." The woman says looking back at Isaac with a smile.

Before Isaac and I can reply the woman engulfs me in a bone crashing hug. It makes me miss Caleb's hug by far. I am not very far-fetched in Latin but I can understand a few sentences, the basic ones especially since I had different language lessons when I was being homeschooled in Australia.

"I bet you're now thinking of how much better my hug was." I hear a familiar voice.

I look up and spot Caleb biting through an apple and walking towards us. I almost laugh at the thought of how they both hug like they want to crash the life out of someone. Nina pulls away and glares at Caleb.

"Caput stercore." She cusses at Caleb.

I look at her in disbelief. She just smiles at me and heads towards Caleb. Isaac just smiles at me obviously reading my thoughts.

"You'll get used to the cussing. She does it a lot actually." He says pulling me inside the house.

The house looks way better than the outside and very welcoming with a scent that just screamed "welcome to our humble abode". I smile at how I thought the house belonged in a horror movie when I first saw it. I do take back my words after actually entering the house. Isaac pulls me into the kitchen where Caleb is seated on a stool around the counter and Nina is mixing something in a big bowl.

Isaac and I take our seats and Caleb smirks at me. I can almost picture the unholy thoughts circling through his head. I swear he is too young to be thinking so ahead of life, I was not the holiest fifteen year old but he is surely worse.

"Where's Alex?" Isaac asks Caleb.

"He said he had to take care of something." Caleb shrugs tossing the remains of his apple in the bin.

I notice Isaac's jaw clench and anger flashes over his calm features. Before I can ask him what is wrong Nina calls out to me. I turn around to face Nina who was a large smile on her face.

"Potesne me iuvare [can you help me]? Nina asks with a beaming contagious smile that I cannot help but return.

I stand up from my seat and join her. I help her mix the ingredients for the brownies while Isaac and Caleb go ahead to play COD.

That boy will never get tired of playing COD.

I look at the now ready to eat brownies on the open plate and gulp down my saliva. I look at them yearningly since I cannot eat them yet, I love food but I also do not like a burnt tongue. It hurts a lot.

"You look very sweet, my dear." Nina says as she looks into my eyes lovingly.

This woman has got the whole vibe of "mother of all" thing going on. It did not take very wrong for me to like her and notice her small habits like how she constantly chewed on the inside of her cheek when mixing the ingredients and how she did not want any dirt in the kitchen as she mixed everything. She reminded me of my mother and grandmother combined, which is lovely but deadly.

"And you're very kind." I tell her genuinely.

She laughs, "Just promise me that you won't hurt my Isaac. He has been through so much already. He deserves to be happy." She says gazing up to space and looking emotional.

"I won't hurt him." I promise with a small smile, remembering how Isaac looked broken and torn when he told me his past.

"And I believe you. I know he hurt you first but please do try to bear with him." She pleads on the verge of tears.

I go over to her and put my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry I have forgiven him." I respond looking straight into her eyes.

Now that I notice her caramel eyes. I notice all the sadness and pain they carry. I did not know that she knew about what happened between Isaac and me and now that it hits, I wonder how many other people know. I know that Isaac must have told Nina because she comes across as the motherly figure for him after the loss of his parents.

"You know I've raised Caleb and Isaac like my own sons and I'm happy that one of them has found a beautiful, loving mate." She says now gaining her composure and smiling at me.

"Nina! I'm starving." Caleb barges into the kitchen.

We both turn and look at him.

"Girl cries, I guess." Caleb says pointing a finger at Nina and me.

"Irrumator." Nina replies grabbing the plate of brownies and walking towards Caleb. "Come on, let's go."

"Are you sure you feed her enough." Nina asks Isaac. "I thought I taught you better than that."

"Seriously Nina, I think you're supposed to ask her where all the food she eats winds up to. She literally eats every hour." Isaac defends.

I just smile innocently at Nina as she scolds Isaac about feeding me. Apparently I am too thin and what made it worse was the way I gulped down the brownies. Nina now thinks Isaac has been starving me and she raised up a topic on how I am supposed to give birth to healthy pups when I am not healthy myself. I chocked on a brownie when she said that and my cheeks were way mush flushed than when Isaac threw one of his stupid cocky remarks at me. Caleb was chuckling at my expense.

"Look at her frail figure." Nina gestures towards me.

Caleb just stifles a laugh at the expense of his brother and me too.

"Nina. The woman eats more than I do in a day. I don't know why she looks starved." He comments, and I look at him with an offended look.

“Okay. I feel insulted, you keep calling me ' starved’." I cut in their argument.

"Sorry honey." Nina apologizes with a sincere look on her face.

"It's just the truth, "honey"." Isaac replies putting air quotes on "honey", mocking Nina.

"It's called high metabolism Brother." Caleb finally cuts in.

"I know what it's called dingbat." He answers.

"Shut up. Both of you." Nina cuts them off. "Isaac you make sure to feed Aleisa properly, or else." She warns him pointing her index finger at him to look intimidating.

"Fine." Isaac Huffs. "But either way she still eats a lot and properly according to me."

"According to you not me." Nina glares at him.

"Fine” Isaac raises his hands in surrender. "Can we go now?"

"Sure but don't be stingy and keep Aleisa all to yourself." Nina winks towards us as we trudge out of the house.

I swear she's like a cussing, pervert minded, middle aged woman.

When Isaac and I make it back to his house its 9pm. I step into the house, groaning tiredly and falling into the couch.

"Are you taking me back home this time?" I mumble from the couch but it only comes out as muffled sounds but I am sure Isaac heard it. I look up to see him smiling at me with a mischievous look.

"You are already home." Isaac says.
