Chapter 10: Chapter 10

We did the pose, and the photos turned out pretty well.

There was one where I was smiling and kissing his cheek. That's also true.

One of them just came to us right away. We put the phone on the desk in front of us and stood there. We put our foreheads together, smiled like kids in a candy store, and looked into each other's eyes.

There's a filter on the camera thing that lets you blur the background so that it only focuses on you. We did just that. In addition to writing in black and white. It could be a picture of an engagement.

That's my lock screen, and the first picture we took was of my home screen. The same thing is on his home screen. On his phone's lock screen is a picture of my ring that we took of our hands.

All of the pictures are beautiful and, of course, look real. I think about it. The way we both look at it makes it seem real. Not a fake, and not just a contract.

Mark comes back into the room as I look at all the pictures. "It's time to go." I nod, and we get ready to leave.

It takes us a while to find the thing with the dress shop. The name of it is Bridal is Beauty. From the outside, it has a nice view.

I can see my mom through the window. Mark comes around to see me when I get out of the car. "Do you want me in?" He asks.

"No, I'm good. I'll go back to the hotel with Liz." I'm not sure if I should go.

My mom is keeping an eye on us. I think she's thinking, "If they're so in love, how can they keep it together?" so I give Mark a kiss on the cheek.

Before he can say anything, I leave the room. As I get to the door, I turn around and see him still leaning against the car, his cheeks just a little bit pink. I made him blush.

I walk through the door. "Hey, I'm sorry it took me so long, but we got a little lost."

"Oh, no problem. Good to see you again." My mom hugs me.

"So do you." I smile.

"So you haven't officially met your..." she pauses to think of the right word. "Sisters. Sophie is 12 years old, and Hannah is 7 years old." She probably told them I was their sister. Her choice of words didn't seem to bother them.

Both of them wave. Sophie was a little less aggressive than Hannah. "Hello, nice to meet you!" Hannah says. She then goes to give him a hug.

"So do you." I give her a hug back, but she only reaches halfway up my thigh, so I have to bend a bit.

I look at Sophie when she moves away. All she says is, "Hey," and then she puts out her hand for me to shake. Then we let go of each other's hands.

I got tall genes from my dad. He is almost 6'5 and I am exactly 6'. My mom is only 5'9, which isn't very tall. Will also seems to be pretty short. He looks to be only an inch or two taller than me. Sophie is about as tall as the bottom of my chest, and Hannah, as I've already said, is as tall as my thigh.

I feel like a giant when I'm with them, but I try to forget that and pay attention to what's going on. "Then, should we go in? Or do you not do that here?" I feel awkward.

"Well, just go find someone to get you a room, and we'll send someone to make changes." As Liz walks to the counter, she says.

I follow her and let her speak. A few seconds later, I was given the wedding dress my mom wore and led to a room while my "family" sat on the couch outside.

As soon as we walk in, the consultant? I think that's the name for them. In Say yes to the Dress, that's what I heard. So, the consultant takes the bag's zipper off and helps me put it on.

"The dress looks like it fits well. It's short by just a few inches. Let's hear what Molly has to say." I must have looked like I was lost. "That's the person who sews." I nod. "Do you want to show them?" I nod again.

I'm taken to the main room and helped to stand on a small block. There are mirrors, and I really like the dress. But, as the consultant said, it's a little too short.

"How do you feel?" I ask. I give them a small smile and bite my lip as I wait for their answer.

"I love it!" Says Hannah. I'm glad she got used to me so quickly. "It's just right!"

"You are so pretty." It looks like my mom is about to cry.

I face Sophie. "Sophie, what do you think?" I ask.

"Really. Want to know what I think?" She wonders. Not to be mean or anything else. She's just surprised in general.

"Of course I do, yeah." I smile.

She gives him a shy smile back. "It's great. You are so pretty." She finally seems to be opening up to me.

"Thank you." I feel like tears are in my eyes.

Here comes the seamstress. "Taking a look at it. Now you need to add about 4 inches." She says. "Otherwise, you look great for a bride."

"Thank you." I smile as I step off the block.

"Okay, so take off the dress so I can bring it to you in an hour."

"What?" Most of the time, I'm surprised. I'm very shocked.

"It won't take that long, though. Go get something to eat and come back." Looks like lunch is happening.

"Ok." I look at my friends. "I want to go to lunch."

"Yes. I'm starved." Sophie says. I think she's getting to know me better.

Hannah jumps up and down and says, "Me, too!"

"Then it's me." Liz says she'll go with us.

We order our food at an Applebee's that's close by. I take a deep breath after the server leaves with the orders. "So I began to think. Are you both interested in being in the wedding?" I ask. I can feel my size going down. They have nothing to say. I think they want to, but they aren't sure if this is what I want. So my mom says something. "Really?"

"Yes, definitely. Mark and I have already talked about it." It was correct. I sent him a text while we were on the way here. He said that was fine and told me what he thought they would do. "So, I thought Hannah could be the flower girl, and Sophie could be a junior bridesmaid if you wanted. When I was your age, I was one." I smile. I liked it a lot to walk down the aisle. Charlie and I were actually going down. And the little brother of Mark's friend can walk down with her.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! I'll be in charge of the flowers." Hannah almost screams, which makes everyone in the restaurant look at her.

"Good. Sophie, what about you?" I make my best "pretty please with a cherry on top" face.

"Yes I'll do it." She says this as she smiles at me and my mom.

We go back to the bridal shop after lunch to pick up my dress. Mom then takes me back to the hotel.

I get out of the car when we pull up, but I stop before I go in. "If you want. You can go home and get your swimsuits, then come here and swim." I can hear them pleading with my mom until she says yes.

"Ok, ok. We'd be happy to." She says.

"Bring Will, as well."

"Will do. See you in a few minutes." Then she leaves in her car. It takes me a minute to see her joke.

I say "bye," and then I go inside to tell Mark about my trip.
