Chapter 49: Chapter 49

"Do you really have to do this? This is enough; Hayfah_from your eyes-I could tell; the memories are scorching you. You really don't have to," she heard Adyan's sombre voice_halting her from uttering the parts of the story she loves more.

"No, Adyan_I have to clear all doubts in your heart_remembered your questions? 1-Was I born out of wedlock? That I don't have the answer to; but will surely ask Abba about it. 2-Am I really a slut? No I'm not, and would never be. But the choice of believing me or not depends on you. 3-Am I marrying Malik because he threatened to spill out my secrets to the world? No. The secrets I have were that of the real Hayfah Talhah Muhammad-which was that of a completely scorched-from Infant, girl, to lady. And none other than you in this whole world knows the mystery behind this façade_which is also broken.

He was determined to marry me in other to lounge me out of my down hearted state_he knew some parts of my life_and that made him avowed on washing off all my worries-through marrying me.

I don't know wether you're convinced or still needs the story till the end. The choice is for you to make, and I'll surely be here to tell you till you'll hear no more," Hayfah spoke with her crumbled voice that was drained. She was trying so hard in clearing her tears_but she knew the nebulous emotions she unravelled would take time before they stop hurting her broken heart.

She wasn't looking at his heart, that made her to be oblivious of their proximity now. All she heard was his coarse voice coalesced with remorse an inch close to her. She petrifiedly looked at his figure beside her_he was kneeling down with hands brought up into a begging gesture.

She got startled. What got into Adyan's head? How would he kneel down before her as if she was some sort of a queen, after all she wasn't anyone but a scorched lady.

"Adyan, please stand up_what if someone comes in?" Her bloodshot eyes dilated in fear, as she kept looking between him and the door.

He looked at the door also before before yawing his gaze to her side. "Even the gateman of this company can come in_that's the least I could care for. What's there to be narcissistic about? When you have the most priced possession in you? You have the heart billions of people envy and would die to have?

Why would I be proud of myself? When here sits the most sturdy lady to ever live on earth? The lady whom life decided to give it's bitter lemons, but she still makes lemonade. The lady that even her façade is shattered beyond mending? But she could still smile admist tears_with dimples that etches beautifully_not knowing those dimples once etched painfully?

Hayfah, I really don't know what to say, neither do I know where to start from. You story breaks my heart, it made me cried like I've never did before, it made me realize the angel that you are. Alot of people think they live in hardship, not knowing thousands of people are in a more dilemma than they are. I'm really proud of you, for you still walk with an aura of charisma that send chills down the spines of people. You still have sparks in you that even being told_none would ever believe that you are scorched beyond mending.

I'm sorry, Hayfah. I'm sorry for being the reason you had to reminisce the moments I'm sure you choose bury depths down. I'm sorry for ever doubting you and asking those question. I'm sorry for leaving you the times you needed me the most. I'm sorry Hayfah for everything I've done to you_knowingly or unknowingly. Wallah, I love you immensely, Hayfah_more than words could ever tell." The flames of love that were ebbing in his heart were so strong that he had to burst into silent tears. This wonderful sturdy creation before him was his means of life. He loves her more than he could ever love anything in this life. And upon hearing this_he loves her billion times than before.

Hayfah brought her palms to her lips and let out a silent wail. Is this a dream coming true? She would never want to hear his part of the stort_but surely, she knew she would never love anything more than she would forever love Adyan. She loves him with every fibre of her being.

"Adyannn...," and she let the words trailed off. For she hasn't have the perfect words to utter. What is she starting with? Telling him the fire that was set ablaze by his love in her heart or her forgiveness towards him?

He was just looking at her with glassy eyes as she kept fiddling with the words to utter. "Hayfah, would you please marry me? I beg you in the name of Allah_don't say No-I know you might have some grudges on me, which I still don't know the reasons to-but I'm sorry. Forgive me please.

Would you please marry me? We can go and meet Abba tomorrow_let's go and tell him what's inside our hearts. Hayfah I can't live without you. My heart craves for you, my soul yearns for you. I want your soul to blend into mine, as together; we will heal your broken heart. Please...," he let the words trailed off, for he couldn't come up with the reasons she should marry him_all he knew was his life depends on her.

She was just staring at him, with eyes shedding unchecked tears. She wanted to hug him, wipe his tears away and tell him it'll be okay. But it isn't permissible in Islam_and she wouldn't dare in her right senses go against the words of The One her soul's strength is with-Allah! The superior.

"I wish I can do something about it, Adyan. By Allah, I love you more than you could ever imagine_but Umma, she wants me to get married to Malik_neither Abba nor I, have the right to say otherwise." She doesn't know why she didn't tell him about Amna's love for him. How could she? When on the probability scale_Amna have morethan 95% chance of being with him. Yes! She knew she's being selfish, for she wasn't going to have him, why wouldn't she let her sister have him?

Adyan was sitted in his room; he was deep in thought that he didn't know when Mom entered his room with a salam_holding a tray brimful of food. She couldn't get to know the exact problem of Adyan these days. He had been quiter than usual, he hardly talks_all he do was to be in his sanctuary-his room.

She sat beside him and placed the tray on the bedside drawer before tapping him on his shoulder. His bloodshot turned and flashed his mother a sombre look before he placed his head on her laps.

Mom knew whenever he does that, it has came to the point that he couldn't take his worries anymore_she knew he will surely confide in her.

"Adyan, Sorella is here for you. Tell me, what's wrong with you? What's bothering you please?" She muttered silently_feeling how his tears were painfully dripping on her laps.

"Mom, I want to get married," he slurred. He knew it wasn't straightforward-but that's the only thing his lips would come up with.

A loud gasp escaped her lips. She swooned and patted his head enthusiastically. "Oh my Allah! Is that why you're bothering yourself? Adyan why didn't you told me since? I would've asked Hajia Indo for Hayfah's home address since," she rambled in one breathe_long forgetting the day he came to her about Hayfah being betrothed to that Malik of a guy.

He sat upright, and looked at her with tears streaming down his cheeks. "Mom, I want to get married to Hayfah_but she's getting married to someone not me. What do you want me to do?"

"Innalillahi! So she was serious that day? Don't you think we should tell Dad now? He might be of help_Adyan."

Adyan knew how Umma could be, and literary_his brain isn't functioning now. "No, not yet please. I think I'll have to talk to Hayfah first_but I really don't want to loose her wallahi," he whimpered, resting his head on Mom's shoulder. He alone knew under the scale of 10, there was only 0.001 probability of them getting married. For he knew Umma to be the queen of the house_and Hayfah isn't going to stand up for what she loves_from all indications.

She patted his head affectionately, "Okay, don't bother yourself please, she will surely become yours Insha Allah. Now, eat and have some rest_you look restless." Not leaving a room for an argument, she served him and brought the food beside him before leaving the room. She knew something morethan what he told her was eating him up; but he just couldn't come up and say it loud.

From that day; Hayfah wasn't herself anymore. She had been walking sluggishly and could hardly talk nor smile. Maami and Rayhan had asked her tirelessly, but she was just saying she isn't feeling okay.

Since when Amna went back home_they haven't talked on phone nor whatsapp. And she have called her numerous times but she didn't picked the call and isn't calling back as well. Hamma Tahir wasn't picking her calls also, she've sent him numerous massages but he didn't reply any nor did he called back her unending missed calls.

The only person that picks up her phone is Abba, and they would only talk laconically and ended the call. Hayfah have sensed a feeling of guiltiness and remorse in his voice; but he still didn't voice it out. He still didn't talked to her about Malik's proposal and the wedding date that is yet to be fixed.

She was in Rayhan's room pleating her hair. Rayhan was talking to her but all her attention was back home_all she wants to do is to go back home. She needs to see wether they're all fine or not.

"Addah Hayfah!" Rayha shrieked, jolting her out of her trance.

"Yes, Rayhan," She answered, focusing her attention on the girl.

"I said I had a dream about you and A, and in the dream_both of you were in pain and being forcefully estranged by a wicked woman_you all were crying-while I was there together with another woman praying that a miracle would happen."

Hayfah was silent for a moment, she was still scuppering Rayhan's dream. Albeit Rayhan always dreams about everything and nothing_this one got her thinking.

"Addah, not all dreams becomes real huh? I pray this one doesn't," she heard Rayhan's voice, which brought her back into the normal world.

"Yes, Rayhan-some dreams are not true and would forever not be true. While some dreams are the things that will happen in the future, or the things that happened already," Hayfah answered, it was as if she answered her instinctive mind with her words.

"I pray this one will never be true, Addah_because I want you to marry A; so I could always go to your house, help you with the chores and also bathe your babies when they're born! God! I can't wait to be an aunty!" Rayha's ramblings got deafened to Hayfah's ears by the beeping sound her phone made_which was a sign of an incoming message.

Seeing the sender of the message, she quickly opened it and read the text_and that's when her blood raised, the cold feeling she had been feeling overwhelmed her heart_as she kept staring at the phone without the blink of an eye. The message reads...

~Hayfah, I don't know wether this might get you back into your senses or not. For it's obvious being a whore had made a huge impact in your life that you don't value your family anymore. Whatever the case may be, Abba feels it's your right to be told. He has been sick for over a month now_and had been admitted into the hospital in the ICU unit. If you still have a heart in you, you might need to check up on him.
