Chapter 45: Chapter 45

Heart constriction, knees naturally going down_as breathe threatened to halt. Hayfah sat on the bare floor and kept staring at her phone as if it was something from another world.

She didn't know she was crying until she felt a slight tap on her shoulder_which caused her to abruptly looked up amd stood up from her sitting position_Muntasra's query eyes still lingering on her body.

"What's going on, Hayfah? You seemed a bit tensed," she asked, taking Hayfah's hand in hers_as she made them sat down on the bench a bit far from the gate.

Hayfah looked up, her eyes streaming tears_she was soo scorched that she couldn't point out where she was. "I'm okay, Muntasra_would you help me call Baba?" And she handed her the phone before looking away_putting her face into her palms_more tears rollling down.

She've always read about girls being jealous over the guys they love. Girl being halfly mad over what they possess, but she have never experienced this kind of pain_it was a pain that could destroy one's sanity_it was a hard blow at heart. She couldn't take this anymore.

At first_she thought her sister was over the guy she claimed to love_but now; she's afraid if the old flames were set ablaze in her sisters heart. She's afraid to loose her new sister; afraid to go back to her forlorn life_for her sister was now her everything. Malik's thought just crossed her mind_why would she be jealous over Adyan? Wether she likes it or not, she would be Malik's in a short time now. But who is she to tell her heart what to do? She loves Adyan and would forever do.

Muntasra's voice jolted her out of her trance, she looked at her with her bloodshot eyes and smiled gratuitously. "Hayfah, I've called him and he would be here in some minutes. Do try and stop your tears please_I'm just a phone call away when needed." She smiled at her also, handed her back her phone before she walked to a car that parked inches away from them and entered; waving at her.

Hayfah burst into tears_whenever she recalls Adyan was together with Amna she feels her heart being constricted. It wasn't a good feeling at all. She want to voice it out, she want to confide in someone_she want to say the words out before they become a volcano and erupt by themselves. Words_are her only weapon.

She took her phone and dailed Fareeha's number_she was the only one she could talk to about this. Fareeha picked the call and began laughing at her; without hearing her voice.

"Yan Abuja! How have you been? You have just vanished; Hayfah," Fareeha chirped in with a bubbly voice.

Hayfah tried wiping her tears before she spoke "I'm in a dilemma, Fareeha. Why is life always giving me something it wouldn't let me have? I'm tired of this life_I'm tired of loving the one's I'll never get!" She slurred; as agonizing tears washed down her face! She was profusely crying, so was her bleeding heart.

"Subhanallah! Hayfah I don't get you, what happened? The last time we talked you were happy about finding your other half. What is it now?" A distraughted Fareeha inquired, she knew the new Hayfah would never cry over small issues, she was now a sturdy lady. But whatever is it today_have scorched her to the extent level.

"Addah came, and she met Adyan! They're now together!" Was all she could utter, she knew the words sounded obfuscated; but her lips couldn't come to saying the fact.

"What!!! Hayfah tell me! They're dating? A normal outing? Or what?" Fareeha clamoured! Her mind was practically in shambles. What does this mean? Addah was not over Adyan over these years? What do life has in store for Hayfah? She prays it's for the best.

Hayfah gulped down the lump in her throat and began talking in a whimpering voice_her energy was drained, and so the blood circulating through her veins. She was scorched. She didn't ommited a single information, from Kassim, Malik, and now Adyan with Amna.

Fareeha was quite through the phone call, she couldn't come to utter a word, this was just so much for her in a day. All she knows about is Hayfah finally found Adyan_and she told her his name without hesitation; she was so happy then. But all this, Kassim of a guy, and Fake besty? How dare he!

"Hayfah? You went through all this without sharing it with me? Wasn't I your bestfriend? It hurts to even think I wasn't there for you_Hayfah." And she broke into silent tears_she believes Hayfah has the most strongest heart.

"I thought they were not worth sharing, Besty. I would just tense you up," Hayfah muttered, flaring up her nose so she could breathe in properly_for her chest was as heavy as a rock.

"Not worth sharing? You being humiliated by a disgusting human being wasn't worth sharing? He slapped you! And it's still not worth sharing? And that idiot guy you called Betty, what does he think of himself? How dare he? Is marriage something that one could be force into? I will call him and put some senses into his selfish skull. And about Addah, Ya Rabbi! This is just so much, Hayfah!" She was rambling infuriatedly, feeling had it been she would fly and see herself before these people_none of them would live another minute with his life!

"No Fareeha, it's already over. Abba have already gave his consent_and I can't object him. That's the life I am destined to live."

"Never! You're meant to live a halcyon life, a life full of love and happiness_you'll be successful; Hayfah! You shall be happy one day!" Fareeha uttered, she knew Hayfah would never fail in her life_and she believes in that. These was just among the trails Allah tests upon his beloved believers.

"I pray so, I pray so, Fareeha. But I don't think I will live that long to be succesful, for with every breath I take, it suffocates me wallah, I'm tired of living in this world!"

***

Hayfah was curled up in her room, she was crying since she came back_Maami and Rayhan weren't at home; that made her cried to her satisfaction. With each blink of the clock_her breathe seize_she never know she could be jealous like this until today.

She was tired of crying, tired of looking at her phone; tired of looking at the clock_and decided to vent out the anger; through the best way she knew how to____words.

She trudged to where she kept her book and took it before walking back to the bed. More tears pooled the brink of her eyes, as she began reading what she wrote the last time.

Life indeed was a surprise itself. For the Angels were surprised the first time they saw the moulded creation of prophet Adam AS. It gives you the joy you have and would never imagine, and also the sorrow and grief even your enemy wouldn't wish on you.

Today; life brings my other half to me. Today, I believe we were created in pairs, and we call the other pairs our halves. I know I was never complete, but I never knew for me to be complete_I have to see you...Adyan. Yes! You're my otherhalf, and also my soulmate.

From today, I have the little hope that sadness would vanish from my life_for you're my happiness. Tears that were once my companions would dry from eyes, for you're my saviour...

She couldn't, she just couldn't get to the end_so she closed the book and hugged it close to her chest_crying profusely. Her heart aches. She thought he was the source of her happiness; but why is he causing her this excruciating pain? She can't take it.

She heard footsteps, and swiftly-the door was creaked ajar_emanating a wide grinning Amna. Hayfah even saw a love glint in her eyes_that made her heart stopped.

Amna's orbs fell directly into Hayfah's bloodshot eyes. Eyes that could boil an egg. Hayfah; whom wasn't holding the book now factitiously smiled at her; "I'm so worried about you, Addah_I thought you were kidnapped or something," Hayfah muttered and sat upright_she has to do all it takes not to show any sign of being scorched because of their outing.

Amna smiled triumphantly, she knew Hayfah for all her life, and she could surely tell when she's lying. And right now_she knew she was. Shrugging off a little, she entered the room and dropped her handbag on her trolley, before looking at Hayfah.

"Oh yeah, sorry I didn't inform you. An amazing friend of mine took me out; I had an amazing day today," Amna spoke and hugged a pillow_all she think was Hayfah didn't know about her and Adyan going out.

The smile on Hayfah's lips would be enough to carve an iron; it was so hot and full of pain. "Oh, that's so nice. I'm glad you enjoyed it here."

"Yeah. I'll be going back tomorrow_Umma had been bugging me_you knew how she is." And she let out a sarcastic; yet, enigmatic chuckle before walking to the bathroom; not after placing her phone on the bedside drawer adjacent to Hayfah.

Hayfah kept looking at the phone, it wasn't locked_and something in her kept gnawing that she should check the phone. With trembling hands, she took the phone and entered the gallery_and on the first picture_the remaining pieces she thinks her heart entails-shattered.

Almost going crazy, she kept shuffling between the images that were capable of splitting the veins connecting to her optic nerve. The images made her bleeding heart to burst out, the blood was flowing everywhere in her being, choking her lungs by the way_and she found it so hard to breathe. She felt her drained soul dangling, as if contemplating wether it should keep on fighting or go_so it could rest together with her stiffened body.

She heard the bathroom door being turned, and swiftly_she was out of the room with only her phone in her hand. She couldn't risk laying her eyes on Amna now, she couldn't risk that_for she knew she doesn't know what she can do at this moment.

Amna came out of the bathroom and saw the room empty, she moved to the bed and saw her phone sprawled on it_with the recent images in her gallery on view. Triumphantly, she smiled_for she left the phone on purpose.

Hayfah entered Rayhan's room and locked the door behind. She doesn't even know what to do. The tears weren't cascading; rather; they were rolling through her veins_diluting the blood_making it so hard to even move a finger. She doesn't know what she's feeling; neither does she know wether her brain was functioning or not.

She doesn't know she blanked out in thoughts until she heard her phone's ringtone. Looking at the phone, she saw there were over 5 missed calls. Before she could check the person that called her; another call came in. At first she didn't want to pick the call; but a part in her heart beguiled her into picking the call_atleast she might get the chance to say goodbye to him.

She picked the call and placed the phone on her right ear without uttering a word. As soon as she heard his voice, her eyes closed and tears rolled down.

"Tesoro, I've been calling your phone but you weren't picking it up. Are you okay? How are you feeling now?" Adyan asked, he was so worried about her that he got tensed up when she didn't picked his calls.

"I didn't pick your calls because I blanked out. I'm not fine. How I'm feeling? We feel something when there is a living heart enclosed in our chest; mine was long shattered. So I'm died," she answered with the most scary, husky and cold voice he have ever heard, and it scared him to life.

"What do you mean? What happened? Why are you saying this?" He trembled the questions in one breathe.

She was still slumped on the floor; her back resting on the closed door; she looked like a zombie. "I mean I'm died; but just breathing. You best have the answer to what happened. I'm saying this because I hate you!"
