Chapter 41: Chapter 41
Gush of happiness, butterflies flipping their wings, goosebumps appearing on her skin, as a beautiful smile curved her lips. Hayfah felt all her worries vanishing into a thin air, she wouldn't mind if her life will end at this very minute. What else have she craved all her life? It was this person right before her, and hearing this endearment coming from him was knee slackening.
"Adyan, I have to call the doctor you know? Your mother also, what if something happens?" She spoke softly, turning away from him; the look he was flashing her makes goosebumps appeared on her skin.
"Tesoro, please don't leave-I'm okay now-I can even run if you want me to," he whined, pouting his chapped lips. What he's feelimg in his heart was beyond happiness.
Her eyes dilated, making him shiver with the gesture. She looked like an angel-eventhough her eyes were red with the tears, her eyelashes were wet, her nose red and face fuffy. He couldn't help but feel the goosebumps also.
"How would I leave you? Do you have the idea of how I was helter skelter looking for you? I wouldn't trade this moment for the whole world," she quickly took a grasp of her lips, realising what she had just said. Could it give him a hint on what she's feeling in her heart? Although she knew he knew-for she heard him calling her 'Tesoro' the name he calls her with in her dreams.
"Hayfah," he called softly, his eyes filling with tears of happiness. The long awaited day has finally come, and now-he wouldn't waste a minute without telling her what he's feeling for her. It's more than a just a feeling, a whole emotion ebbs in his heart with her name embedded in it.
"Yes," and she smiled, feeling tears also pooling the brink of her eyes. Isn't she dreaming as always? Could this be finally them cocooned in the ambience of love?
"Addah Hayfah!" Rayhan barged inside the room, holding a cone of ice cream in her hand-with creme smudged on her lips.
"A!!!" She shrieked and rushed to the bed, engulfing Adyan into a hug-handing Hayfah her ice cream.
"Ray!" He shrieked with same enthusiasm, albiet she kiboshed his plan.
"Hey! I'm confused here, care to explain?" Hayfah spoke, a glint of happiness in her orbs-as she kept looking between their amused faces.
"He's that friend of mine I was talking to you about-and you didn't want to go and see him. He is handsome isn't he?" Rayhan jabberred, as Hayfah let go of Adyan's hand and sat on the chair-leaving Rayhan on the bed.
Hayfah scrunched up her face, with a smile-as she shook her head sideways. "Um...I don't think so, he isn't that handsome uno? Asin handsome the handsome," and she sticked out her tongue to a pouting Adyan and Rayhan.
"Are you jealous, Addah?" The jovial Adyan was back to life with full force. He alone knows how his heart is rejoicing in it's enclosure.
"Yes, you're jealous, Addah. Because that boyfriend of yours isn't as handsome as mine. Huh A?" Rayhan spoke and sticked out her tongue at Hayfah-landing a peck on Adyan's forehead.
"Rayhan!!!" Hayfah shrieked. "Who taught you this? Ya ilahi! I'm so sorry, Adyan," she apologized, flashing Rayhan the 'You'll pay for this later' look.
"Isn't it what girlfriends do to their boyfriends when they're sick? And your name is Adyan? Addah, isn't that the....," before she could finish, Hayfah palmed hee forehead and spoke gritting her teeth.
"Rayhan, he's sick you see? Yalla, go and call Maami with his mother-tell them he's awake," she ordered and helped her down the bed, before she dumped the enpty cone and walked out of the room.
"She's garrulous, I'm sorry for that...uno?" She apologized without meeting his gaze, she knew from the looks he's sending her-alot of questions are gnawing at him.
"She's just a cute and smart girl, almost spilled someone's secret thou," he chuckled softly, looking at her endearingly. He was just soo much inlove with the creation of Allah before him, to him; she is perfect with her imperfections.
"You shouldn't have chuckled, you might get an attack," she warned, looking between the beeping machine and his face-dismissing the topic-as her orbs fell directly into his. The stare was toe curling, it slackened her limbs and hazed her mind. It made visible goosebumps appeared on her skin, as a blush creeped out of her cheeks.
"They are visible," he broke the hushed silence, a smirk curving his lips.
"What?" She asked, not sure of what he was talking about.
"Goosebumps."
"Oh my god!" And she blushed harder, ducking her face into her palms-his unending love ebbing unconditionally in her heart. She knew what's sweet about love today-for the first time in her life.
"Amore!" Mom spoke excitedly, walking over to the bed, as Hayfah stood up and made way for her.
"Sorella," he smiled weakly at her, locking eyes with Hayfah, she knew what he meant-and she shook her head at him.
"I'm sorry, Adyan, we will have to look for..." he knew where she would land, and he didn't want to be embarrassed now-so he cut her off.
"Sorella, she is Hayfah!" He pointed at Hayfah with his index finger-whose head was hung low-she doesn't know why, but she's uncomfortable now; under his mother's joyful gaze.
Swiftly, she was engulfed into an embrace, it was warm and filled with love-making Hayfah's heart to shudder at the warmth-it felt as if she was waiting for something similar to this all her life. Tears found their ways out of their eyes, it was obvious-Mom felt the same way too.
"Thank you for finally unveiling yourself, we would've loose him be...," Mom couldn't get to complete her sentence when Adyan cut her off; yet again.
"Mom!" He whined, pouting his eyes at her, she knew what it meant-so she sealed her mouth shut.
Their eyes locked with Hayfah's and she smirked, mouthing 'Someone's secret'.
Mom guided her back to the chair, and sat beside Adyan-all this while Maami was looking at them mouth agape. "Hajia Ni'imah, I don't understand this, they knew eachother before?" she had to ask, for how they came in and met Hayfah and Adyan was questionable, talkless of him introducing her to his Mom-and her reaction too had to be tagged under the question bar.
"Oh that's the longest story and unbelievable tale; I'll gist you about it later. But now, all that matters is this dream lovers." Mom spoke with a full smile etched on her red face.
"Let's go, they have a lot to catch up-probably the dream break," Mom winked at Adyan before guiding a dumbfounded Maami outside the room.
"You dream also?" They asked at the same time, before bursting into a series of laughter. It felt overwhelming.
"Yeah, and you?" He answered first.
"Yes, Kayejo am (My boyfriend)," she answered with the name she used to call him in their dreams.
His eyes flickered with happiness, as heart fluttered with love. "Oh no, Tesoro. I told you that name has to be changed from Kayejo to Gorko (Husband)," he whined, it felt as if they were in the dreamworld-not the world of real.
"Kayejo, why in a rush? You've finally came as promised, and everything will be solemnized within a short period of time Insha Allah," she conjectured, before her palms softly smacked her lips. "Such a shyless lady I am."
"Yes, and you've made me suffered before making yourself oblivious. And no, there is nothing like shyness in love; especially when the lovers only get to meet in their dreams."
"Lovers I see," she hushed sarcastically, not meeting his gaze.
"You know I love you right?" And his question hit a soft spot in her heart, she had to look up at him, before yawing her gaze to the other side of the room.
"Yes, considering you've just told me in a twisty manner ever!" She didn't know what get into her head with sarcastic replies today- but what she's feeling in her heart, is an ocean of emotions.
"And you love me too!" He conjectured, all this while, his eyes never left her glowing face.
"That's in your dreams, mister," she replied with a smug, redoing the veil on her head, as it kept slipping off her head-revealing her black shiny hair.
"Ofcourse you told me that numerous times in my dreams, and it felt so real then. So-the first real one, my ears are open-else; back to my coma!" He threatened, looking at the beeping machine, as if telling her that he was surely going back to that coma.
"You're love struck uno? Don't break my heart with this coma of yours. Mi yidi ma (I love you)," she had to say it in the little fulani she attained, for it would be more than weird saying it with the language he could understand.
"I understand that," he smirked. "I'm not the only love struck victim then. Mi yidi ma, Surbajo am (I love you my girlfriend) no! It has to be Debbo am (My wife)," He was grinning from lips to ears, his eyes were flickered with nothing but sheer adulation, his veins were circulating only the love that was ebbing in the ocean of blood in his heart. He was surely love struck.
"Ahhh this is not fair, Addy," she whined, her husky voice melodiously gliding through his earlobes.
"What is not fair, Haffy? Everything is fair in love."
"Goosebumps, I don't like them on my skin."
"But you love me, so get used them often."

The best day of her stay in Abuja, or rather; the best day of her entire life---was the day Adyan was finally discharged. She watched as his Dad supported his shoulders as they made their way to the car, her, Maami and Mom holding the food baskets, the carpets and the rest.
Through the span of five days, she would go to the company, sometimes; she see Kassim there, but most of the time-he wasn't there. He seldom spend a full hour in the office, something relating about his brother being sick____that's the least she could care for. All she knew is, he probably gets his works done in the night.
In the evening, when Baba picks her up-she would go to the hospital first-chat with him; sometimes she prays her Maghrib salah there with him, before going back home. Those days were the best days of her life, and at night, she would be on call with him-in sleep; she dreams of him!
Adyan looked around him and didn't spotted his brother, he knew alot of things were messed up with his brother. He doesn't have time for himself-he spend half the day with him, and leave in the evening-then until the morning again.
"Dad, I haven't seen him today, is he fine?" He hushed to his father's ears, as he helped him sat on the passengers seat.
"Ohh he went to Dubai for the company's meetings and all. He will be there for three months, I have to go back to the company before you could get back your strength," Dad informed, as he sat on the drivers seat- Mom entering the back seat, whilst Hayfah, and Maami wished them a safe cruise.
Their eyes locked, and Hayfah mouthed to him 'I love you, be safe and sound.'
He smiled fully and mouthed 'I love you more, Tesoro.'
They watched as Dad drove out of the hospital, before they entered their car and drove to Rayhan's school, it was closing time already.
Adyan stirred on his chair and looked at Dad-whose forehead was creased-his attention fully on the road.
"Dad, I'll go to work on Monday, since it's Friday today; I've regained my strength by then."
