Chapter 24: Chapter 24
Malvin did not come home immediately after escorting Dena to his house. He drove to Evelyn's apartment. Evelyn had sold her apartment and Malvin bought it on purpose.
Yes, every day Malvin comes to just let go of his longing. according to Malvin, Evelyn's scent still lingered in his house. And Malvin missed her very much.
"I'll be gone in a while, so I won't be visiting you for a while," Malvin said as if Evelyn was there.
After a while, Malvin exhaled, then got up to the bathroom. He cleaned up and decided to sleep in the apartment tonight.
The next day, Malvin returned home to prepare his clothes while going to Bandung. sounded a message tone on his cell phone rang and Malvin immediately grabbed his cell phone.
"Pick me up at twelve in the afternoon." message from Dena.
"Yes." that was the only reply Malvin wrote for him, after which he returned to put down his cellphone and tidy up his things.
Malvin changed his clothes and decided to work out a special room in his house. Routine he usually does when the weekend arrives. But in the past few weeks he never even did.
In Bandung, Evelyn is seen sitting in a park with Alex, her neighbor, and a new friend who has helped her several times. Evelyn no longer stiffens when Alex asks her to talk or leaves the house just to take a walk around her housing complex because Alex is quite good according to Evelyn's thinking. And there's nothing wrong with getting on well with neighbors since she doesn't know anyone in her new home.
This morning, Alex invited Evelyn to exercise around the complex and walk to a park complex which is usually busy on weekends. Many families walking and exercising there. Last night, it rained so this morning it felt fresher than usual.
"The rainy season has started, huh." Evelyn cleared a few branches from the chair she was going to sit on.
"Yes, is your house okay? Evelyn frowned at Alex's question. “I mean, isn't your house leaking? Remembering the house was uninhabited for several months. "
Evelyn shrugged, "It doesn't seem like a problem, because last night in a heavy rain there was nothing to worry about."
"Can I ask you something?"
Evelyn nodded in response.
"I think, your age is still young. And it seems, you are also not married. Why do you live alone? Where are your parents?"
Evelyn grabbed a water bottle and took a sip before answering Alex's question.
"I haven't had parents for a long time, but I have a brother who now lives abroad."
"Oh, I'm sorry about that." Said Alex and he decided not to ask anymore. Alex must have thought that Evelyn's parents were dead. however, not even Evelyn herself knew what it was.
"No problem."
"Do you want to eat?" Alex changed the subject.
Evelyn shook her head, "I'm not hungry yet, I want to buy that ice cream. Do you want one too?"
there is an ice-cream seller around there, as usual, every weekend there are some people selling in the parking area.
"I'll buy it for you." Alex smiled amusedly, then got up to buy some ice cream.
it didn't take long, Alex was back with two ice creams in his right and left hand.
"This is for you."
"Thank you."
"It's cold this morning, but you eat ice cream instead." Alex couldn't help saying it.
"You eat it too."
"I want to feel what you feel."
Evelyn knitted her brows.
"The feeling of eating ice cream when the weather is cold," said Alex with a laugh.
Evelyn patted her arm. They are getting used to being together and are getting close. They had breakfast together before finally returning to their respective homes.

"Do you have an event tomorrow?" asked Alex when that evening he delivered Evelyn's order.
"You know I have nothing to do," replied Evelyn.
"Do you want to come with me?"
"Where? "
"I have an event at a hotel, would you like to accompany me?"
"What is the event? "
"Just meeting old friends, like a reunion."
Evelyn paused and then replied, "Very well."
"Okay okay, rest soon."
Evelyn nodded and Alex left Evelyn's house. After dinner, Evelyn opened her wardrobe and began selecting dresses for her to wear to Alex's events. And after finding the right dress, she chose to rest.
Sunday afternoon Alex picked up Evelyn. And even though their house was close, Alex parked his car in front of Evelyn's house.
“Ready?” Asked Alex when he saw Evelyn come out of the house. She looks beautiful wearing an elegant black dress.
Evelyn just nodded and Alex opened the car door for Evelyn. Only after Evelyn walked in and the door was closed did Alex walk around the car and enter through the door on the other side. He got in and started driving slowly.
"You are very beautiful." Alex smiled complimenting Evelyn's beauty with a glance at her.
"Thank you," Evelyn answered with a smile looking at Alex.
Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the hotel where Alex was attending the event. Alex walked in, holding Evelyn's hand.
"I will introduce you to my friends."
Evelyn nodded, "Sounds reminiscent."
Alex led Evelyn to walk to her friends who had gathered. He introduced Evelyn as her new friend and neighbor to her friends. Some of Alex's friends are married.
"I'll excuse me for a moment to go to the toilet and get a drink," Evelyn whispered in Alex's ear.
"Don't be too long, I'll stay here." Evelyn nodded and then left.
Evelyn went to the toilet to fix her makeup. After that, she approached the table to get a drink. She sipped his drink while still standing at the table. as she turned about to leave the table, someone bumped into his shoulder.
"Oh, sorry I didn't mean it," said Dena.
"Ah, yes, no problem," said Evelyn, cleaning the hem of her dress which was soaked with the drink she was carrying.
She doesn't realize the woman who hit him is Dena and is watching him.
“Are you okay?” Malvin approached Dena and put his hands on her hips.
And just then Evelyn looked up to see the owner of that very familiar voice in her ear. She was very surprised when she saw that Dena was a woman who accidentally nudged him and Malvin was standing next to him. Without realizing it, she looked up and glanced at Malvin's hand which was curled up lovingly on Dena's hip.
As surprised as Evelyn was, Malvin gave her a look of disbelief. the woman he had been looking for was accidentally he met here.
"I'm fine dear," Dena replied when she realized that the woman in front of her was Evelyn, seen from Malvin's shocked expression.
"Evelyn?"
