Chapter 23: Chapter 23

Malvin tries to get back to busy with his work, he has not received an answer from the person he asked to help find Evelyn.

He was looking at some photos of their togetherness. He did not expect, his heart would feel so broken because of a woman. Malvin squeezed the ballpoint in his hand. Then throw it in any direction.

Knock, knock, knock.

Malvin stared at the door of the room as his secretary opened it without waiting for an answer from him.

"Sorry Mr. Malvin, someone is looking for you"

"Who? "

Dena barged into Malvin's room without waiting for an answer from his new secretary.

"Go on," said Malvin to his secretary.

Dena walked towards the sofa in Malvin's room after seeing his secretary close the door of the room.

"I'll just ask for your time to accompany me."

"Where do you want to go?"

"I want to shop."

Malvin was just silent and finished his work, after which he immediately accompanied Dena according to her wishes.

One week after Malvin returned to work, he did decide to make peace with Dena. Make peace with her situation even though he hasn't fully accepted her status as Dena's fiancé. However, Malvin desperately wanted Evelyn to come back.

That's Malvin and Dena now, Malvin doesn't much refuse Dena's request to accompany him to go. As long as Dena doesn't demand more. Dena only asked for Malvin's time to accompany her, not asking for her heart. Dena is sure, Malvin's feelings will change over time.

"I want you to accompany me to Bandung this weekend."

Malvin and Dena are enjoying their dinner.

"hmm." only that Malvin's answer. He did not ask what needs Dena to go to Bandung. And Dena is happy enough because Malvin wants to accompany her even though Malvin doesn't seem to care.

Dena glanced at Malvin with a smile, sometimes she felt funny seeing Malvin's attitude that seemed like he didn't care but he wanted to accompany Dena wherever she went.

"Don't be too stiff." Dena was about to touch Malvin's hand before she quickly pulled her away.

"We've been together everywhere we went for almost two weeks. But look at you, you don't even want to smile at me, Sskk"

"Why would I smile if there wasn't anything funny." Malvin looked at Dena with a flat expression.

"Come on, aren't we friends?"

"It was then."

"So now we're really engaged?"

"It's just a fake status too."

Dena rolled her eyes lazily. She was embarrassed by Malvin's attitude but she would still try to make Malvin like him.

"How about we play a fun game?"

"Sorry I don't have time, I'm tired and have to go home. But I'll take you first." Malvin got up from his seat whether Dena followed him or not.

After reaching Malvin's car, he realized that Dena was really not following him. Malvin immediately took his cellphone and called Dena. But the woman did not answer the phone.

Malvin switched off his phone and got into his car. Malvin decided to wait for Dena in the car.

Ten minutes passed, Malvin was getting annoyed that Dena did not come. Malvin tries to contact Dena again, but Dena's cellphone is now dead.

“Fuck!” Malvin cursed by hitting the steering wheel in front of him. He got out of the car and went back into the cafe where he and Dena had finished their dinner.

"Shit! Where is the girl." Malvin immediately ran outside to find Dena. Malvin tried many times to contact Dena but still couldn't.

Malvin circled the area near the cafe where he last saw Dena but Malvin did not see the woman. He also tried to ask the security by showing Dena's photo.

The security guard pointed out where Dena was going and Malvin immediately ran to find him. He continues to run by continuing to pay attention to his surroundings. Malvin did not know how far he had run until he was gasping for breath. Malvin took a deep breath and then exhaled when he saw the figure he was looking for.

"Somehow you really like to disappear suddenly and make it difficult for me to find you," said Malvin coldly. He was able to catch his breath.

Dena sat by a pond with a fountain about five hundred meters from the cave where she had been. She was seen playing with the moving and gurgling water.

"Are you worried about me right now?" said Dena without turning around.

"Stop playing around."

Dena smiled crookedly, "Aren't you the one who's always playing around."

"Let's go home, you'll get sick if you stay outside while your clothes are exposed like that."

Malvin took off his jacket and then put it on Dena, who was wearing open clothes. Even though Malvin doesn't seem to care, Dena is his current responsibility.

"I won't get sick because you lent me your coat." Dena stood up and smiled at Malvin while pressing Malvin's coat against him.

"I'm sorry I made you worry." Dena continues to smile. She was relieved that Malvin was really looking for her.

"Are you satisfied?"

Dena sighed, "I'm not really satisfied, because I can't be happy."

"But your lips keep smiling."

Malvin and Dena walked hand in hand toward Malvin's car.

"I haven't got your heart," Malvin stopped his steps and turned to face Dena.

"I'm sorry I let you down, I know you're a good woman. Maybe it's just a little late to meet us." Dena also faced Malvin. "Sorry that I haven't been able to forget my lover and accept our new status."

Dena was still quietly listening to Malvin. She did not want to lose the opportunity to hear what his fiancé felt. So far, Malvin has been silent and looks cold. This was the first time he talked a lot. Especially when this is about his feelings.

Malvin even only apologized briefly after he took Dena's precious crown and decided to go back.

“Too many of my mistakes on you.” Malvin chose to continue walking

"I don't know how I should apologize and make up for all my mistakes."

"At first I thought, being your friend is the right choice."

"But my heart seems to be in rebellion can't accept this fact if we end up getting engaged."

"I don't even deserve to just apologize for all my mistakes."

"We can try with a way to calm your heart," said Dena.

"Do you know how to calm my heart?" asked Malvin

"I'll know when you say it."

"Are you sure you want to hear my answer?" Dena nodded excitedly.

"For the umpteenth time, I must apologize." Malvin stopped again and looked at Dena who also stopped and stared at him.

"But I can only rest easy when I've found Evelyn again."

Dena stared at Malvin silently, is that hard to get your heart? the man in front of him immediately left after saying that sentence.

They had arrived at the cafe parking lot where Malvin's car had been there all along. He immediately got into the car and Dena followed him.

Malvin took Dena back to his house. During the return journey, only silence was created between the two. They were lost in their own thoughts.
