Chapter 52: Chapter 52

The hovercar driver skillfully took out 700 Federation coins from the collection box and handed them to a somewhat puzzled Loren.

Loren took the 700 Federation coins offered by the other man and asked curiously:

"What's wrong? Driver, do I not look much like a Superhuman?"

"I've carried many Superhumans, but very few can fall asleep in my car, even when they're quite exhausted. They don't seem accustomed to sleeping in unfamiliar environments."

"Sir, I think you must be a powerful Superhuman."

After offering his explanation, the hovercar driver voiced his speculation.

"Oh? What makes you say that?" Loren asked with a smile.

"I've seen many Superhumans, but few can carry the same confidence and composed attitude you do, sir, as if no danger could affect you."

The driver sighed with admiration once more, expressing his respect toward Loren.

After speaking, Loren tilted his head as if remembering something and spoke up again:

"Sorry, driver, could you return that Spirit Stone to me?"

The driver was taken aback, opened the collection box, retrieved the Spirit Stone, and handed it back to Loren.

"What? Is there a problem with the Spirit Stone you gave me, sir?"

Loren took the Spirit Stone, tucked it into his chest, then returned the 700 Federation coins in his hand to the other man, his tone inexplicable as he said:

"No, there's nothing wrong with the Spirit Stone."

"I just thought of a better way to pay the fare."

After saying this, the Raven, in its attached state, released its merged form and quietly appeared on Loren's shoulder.

This bizarre scene left the driver across from him dumbfounded.

Then, Loren gently plucked a feather from the Raven on his shoulder.

This action made the Raven inevitably cry out in pain: "Ouch! Master!"

Ignoring the Raven's whimper, Loren leisurely extended the feather in his hand toward the driver.

"Here, driver, this is my fare. I think I'd still rather not use Federation coins."

The hovercar driver blankly took the single feather, looking somewhat bewildered at Loren.

Loren extended his index finger, placed it by his lips, and made a shushing gesture.

Then, Loren softly snapped his fingers.

Under the driver's dazed gaze, the feather in his hand emitted a dazzling light, making him instinctively close his eyes.

Soon, the light inside the car vanished.

The driver slowly opened his eyes, discovering that the feather in his hand had already disappeared, replaced by an extremely ornate revolver.

What appeared in his hand was a brand new gray revolver.

The barrel of this revolver was very long and slender, while its gray gun body was covered in intricate, dark red patterns.

The low-key yet luxurious style was entirely in line with Loren's aesthetic.

"A gift for you, driver. This is my present to you, and also the fare for this trip."

After speaking, Loren glanced at the driver, who was still in a stunned state, then opened the car door on his side and, with the Raven on his shoulder,

stepped out of the hovercar with perfect composure.

"By the way, driver, remember to place the Spirit Stone on its gun body. There will be a surprise."

"I hope you fare. Good luck to you."

After getting out of the car, Loren stood up straight outside the hovercar, lightly tipped his top hat as a gesture of farewell to the other man.

After doing all of the above, Loren calmly turned around and walked toward the Interstellar Hunter Association ahead.

As if he had done nothing out of the ordinary, merely paying the fare like usual...

After Loren had walked a few steps,

a somewhat excited voice came from behind Loren.

"Sir!! Can you tell me your name?!" It was the driver's voice.

He had gotten out of the car, standing outside his hovercar, shouting at Loren's tall and serious back.

Loren originally didn't want to respond to him further, but his heart stirred once again.

He turned around, smiled at the driver, and said:

"Las Loren, the future Gambling King of the Jadeite Star Domain."

"Okay, I'll remember it!! Mr. Las Loren!! The future Gambling King of the Jadeite Star Domain!! May every day of your future be happy and healthy!!!"

Loren nodded, silently accepting the other's blessing, then turned and continued walking toward the Interstellar Hunter Association...

After Loren awakened his second ability, he gave away many revolvers.

No particular reason, simply because he liked it.

He liked turning overly stagnant environments into chaos and vibrancy.

And a revolver could help many people break the shackles in their hearts.

When Loren awakened his third ability, he gave revolvers to a few more people.

However, this time, he gave them selectively.

He gave one to the contraband delivery driver—Tyrone—because of his calmness and contentment.

He gave one to the native born in the Gray Zone—Little John—because of his talent and cruelty.

He gave one to the branch chief of the Interstellar Hunter Association—that greedy old man—because of his position and a small portion of a favor owed.

He gave one to the unfortunate resident of the slums—Ms. Thia—because of her resilient and calm qualities.

He gave one to that branch chief's grandson—that unseen university student majoring in Mecha—because of a large portion of a favor owed to his grandfather.

In reality, after obtaining his third ability, every revolver Loren gave away had a certain reason behind it.

Except for the revolver given to repay the favor of that greedy old man recommending Loren to join the Interstellar Hunter Association,

all the other revolvers given away were somewhat selective.

After all, concerning his resurrection points, Loren inevitably became a bit utilitarian.

After seeing the hovercar driver's eyes filled with envy and unwillingness, a powerful impulse suddenly surged in Loren's heart.

"What kind of person will someone who desires Superhuman power so much become after gaining that power?"

After discovering the unique look in the other's eyes, Loren became immensely eager to witness the changes in the other's future.

He wanted to see the other's fate trajectory alter.

He wanted to see what kind of power a truly vibrant soul could unleash.

This was also a strong desire in Loren's heart. The source of thɪs content is novel-fire.net

Like an instinct, the instinct to eat when hungry, to drink when thirsty.

Loren found it hard to restrain this strange feeling...

"Master, you seem to have changed?" The Raven, having witnessed this absurd scene, tilted its head and said.

"Really? How have I changed?"

Loren's footsteps didn't stop; he continued walking forward.

"Sorry, dear master, my wisdom isn't sufficient to describe this matter..."

"Hmph." Loren sneered. Stupid raven.
