Chapter 153: Chapter 153
Zixin’s days became peaceful once more as Paulos didn’t come back to bother him anymore. After Paulos’s visit, Zixin no longer spent all his time sleeping but explored the ground floor of the library. It was filled with so many bookshelves that Zixin felt like he was walking through an endless maze of knowledge. In the morning and in the afternoons, that’s when the library was most crowded, having an average of ten thousand people inside or more and these people would leave when it got dark outside. Whenever he passed by, people would look at him before continuing with their reading sessions. Another thing, he hadn’t come across another librarian even after days of searching which completely confused him. The only good thing out of this was that the Mini Library had the same layout as the Main Library so he knew where some of the books were so he sometimes returned them to their shelves.
As he was strolling around, his expression suddenly changed from one of calmness to that of elation as he rushed back to his office and stuffed the juicy Bookworms into his mouth one after the other, a total of fifty worms were swallowed before Zixin entered a coma.
It just so happened that Sam entered the office after Zixin just entered the coma and his body kept shaking in excitement.
"Hello, I’d like to talk to the librarian." he said politely.
"He’s asleep, please come back when he wakes up." said Dorothy while drinking tea, the old couple didn’t say anything and remained unmoving behind their master.
"It’s really important that I talk to him. Would you be so kind as to wake him, I really need to talk to him urgently." said Sam, holding the book he came with tightly.
"I’m afraid I can’t, so please come back another time when he’s awake, for now, please leave the office." said Dorothy in a much colder tone. Sam didn’t have a choice but to leave the office but not the library premises. Without a choice, he had to seek somewhere else so he walked all the way to the walls of the ground floor where elevators were found. There were many elevators with a number and a name.
Sam chose an elevator with number "1" and the name beside the number was Titus. He entered the elevator which took him to the 1st Floor of the library. When the library doors opened, there was an office very similar to the one Zixin had, just that this one was larger.
On the glass doors of the reception office, there were words written there; Languages, Translation, History, Human Anatomy, Botany and Magical Beasts Anatomy. He specialised in these fields. Sam entered the office and sat opposite the old Sir Titus whose eyes were full of wisdom and knowledge and his body brimming with strength.
"Paulos’s boy, what can I assist you with today?" asked Titus in a calm tone, not at all speaking like someone above Sam but spoke as someone on the same level as Sam.
"Sir Titus, I need your assistance in translating this book for me."
"And what are you offering in exchange for this service?" asked Titus and Sam clenched his teeth before taking out a piece of paper and gave it to Titus. Titus took the paper and read it.
"Interesting, very interesting. A translated Prayer Method from ancient times, I accept this transaction." said Titus with a smile.
This was the reason Sam had hesitated coming here because it wasn’t free to translate books that existed outside the library for free and this was an unspoken rule amongst the librarians. Also, books on the ground floor could only be brought up to the librarian on the ground floor for free. Once a book from the ground floor goes to the 1st floor then a price must be paid and it was usually paid in knowledge that the librarian was interested in.
Sir Titus read the book’s content out loud and Sam scribbled down using his feather pen and brown papers. Sam wrote down everything Sir Titus said word for word like he was a recording machine.
Information trades weren’t exclusive to only the library and its librarians but everywhere where money wasn’t needed. A Mage could hire a Wizard if the information or knowledge he had was valuable enough. And there were noble circles in this Divine Kingdom that Nancy Alshard ruled over, some beings were even stronger than her but remained in the shadows, manipulating strings from there. If you didn’t have valuable information, you could also trade with treasures or anything of equivalent value.
This place wasn’t as simple as it seemed on the surface, a lot was going on beneath the surface but Zixin was unaware and neither were people aware of him.
It took hours for the entire book to be translated to the Nilrem Language and both Titus and Sam were mentally exhausted. Sam left with the translated papers and the book and returned home.
After he left Sir Titus’s office, Titus scanned the prayer with a special eyeball artefact and posted it on the Black Market. After posting it on the dark web, his eye was about to return to normal when he received a message which only he could see.
’Did you translate this?’
That’s all the message said which Titus found to be odd and was about to reply with a "no" since it was Taboo to claim another person’s work as your own but he received another message before he could answer.
’I have a book that I want you to translate for me. In exchange, I’ll give you a True Dragon’s Heart, a True Fire Dragon to be exact.’
Titus was tempted by this offer so much that his body was shaking.
’A True Dragon’s Heart! Those things are very rare. Even the weakest Low Rank 14 True Dragon can go toe to toe with a High 16 Stars Wizard. If I can successfully transplant it, I’ll be stronger than even Queen Nancy.’ thought Titus before sending a message to the other party and quickly got a reply.
’Holy shit! A Rank 16 True Dragon is equivalent to an 18 Stars Wizard! Hahaha, finally, I can also rule over a Divine Kingdom in the Divine Lands!’
