Chapter 152: Chapter 152
By the time Zixin left the hotel, he looked clean, handsome and classic, perfectly fitting in with his surroundings. Anita and Lillian didn’t leave the hotel as they continued their studies on Basic Rune Memorizing. Sergi and Abigail walked on either side of Zixin and Dorothy walked behind them with a respectful look.
While walking in these crowded yet clean and organised streets, Zixin realised that everyone here used Mundane Magic. From Mages all the way to Wizards, all of them heavily relied on Mundane Magic. Not just that, he also noticed that everyone was polite to one another and would most often than not greet each other and have a casual conversation.
Many people also greeted Zixin but he ignored them and continued on his way, he wasn’t in the mood for talking right now. The closer he got to the library, the more people he came across and the younger they looked.
Because it was morning, there were more people in the library and many of them had stacks of books on top of their tables. Sir Frogla had already been informed by Dorothy so he’d been waiting for Zixin at the empty reception office with glass walls and door.
"Sir Zixin, good morning."Sir Frogla greeted.
"Morning," Zixin replied
"I hope you’re doing well. Now, from today onwards, this is your office where all the magic happens. By the what kind of knowledge do you specialise in?"
"Languages and Translation." as soon as Zixin answered, two words appeared on the glass doors and written in the Nilrem Language for everyone to understand it.
"Great, you’ll mostly get people who study languages or want help with translating words in books and the like, have a good day." said Sir Frogla before leaving. Zixin sat on his chair behind the desk and the glass doors automatically opened and didn’t close. The old couple stood with their eyes closed behind Zixin, they stood still like statues. Dorothy first made tea for Zixin before sitting on the long glass bench.
Zixin slowly drank the tea, savouring its delicious taste and the calmness it brought him. Hours quickly passed by and no one had entered Zixin’s office the whole time which made Zixin happy as he went to sleep, only to take out a big worm and swallow it a few hours later.
In a blink of an eye, four months had gone by without anyone coming to Zixin to seek help so he lived a leisurely life. He would often wonder if other librarians were also in the same situation as him, just doing nothing until his shift ended and he went home. Zixin had also never seen Sir Frogla after he’d shown him his office but Zixin didn’t care.
Today was another day of doing nothing. He was relaxing on his comfortable chair and drinking tea. Just then, someone entered his office. It was an old man with a hunched back, wearing black robes and a cross necklace on his neck. He walked slowly until he sat opposite Zixin who was now looking at him.
"Greetings young man, my name is Paulos. I don’t know if you can help me but could you please read out this page for me." said Paulos politely as he opened the page of the book he’d bookmarked.
"Nice to meet you Paulos, I’m Zixin." Zixin responded before shifting his attention to the page Paulos had opened and the words were written in a poem structure.
"I Am The Light, I Am The Divine, I Am The Holy Spirit. I Am Benevolence, I Am Kindness, I Am Love, I Am Hope, I Am What All My Followers Should Aspire To Be. Follow In My Steps, Follow In My Ways, Follow Me Even In The Darkest Days. Believe In Me And No Evil Shall Prosper. Believe In Me And The Light Shall Always Protect You. Believe In Me For I Am Your Saviour And Protector. If A Day Ever Comes And You Need My Protection Or Guidance, Kneel Down, Hold The Cross And Call My Names. I Am Michael, I Am Gabriel, I Am Raphael, I Am Uriel, I Am Metatron, I Am Raziel, I Am Sariel, I Am Zadkiel, I Am Chamuel, I Am Jophiel. If You Truly Believe In Me, Then I Shall Come."
"Michael...Gabriel...Raphael...Uriel...Metatron..." Paulos muttered these names under his breath over and over again.
"Is there anything else you need, Paulos?"
"No, this would be all. Zixin, thank you very much for your help, you’ve helped me big time." said Paulos before he took his book and left the office with his back no longer hunched but rimrod straight like a spear.
"By the way, what language is this written in?"
"That’s the Pjon Language or the real Enochian Language that only angels can speak. If others try to speak it, they say it’s speaking in tongues."
"I see," replied Paulos before walking away.
Dorothy was looking at Zixin with surprise but Zixin had already closed his eyes and fell asleep. Zixin didn’t think what he just did was that big of a deal since it came naturally to him but Dorothy was clearly impressed.
’I wonder how many languages he actually knows.’ she thought.
Paulos came back in the evening and entered Zixin’s office but he didn’t come alone but with two young men. He was also holding a thin book with not more than ten pages titled ’The Prayer Book’ and it looked very old.
"Zixin, good evening."
"Apologies for interrupting you but I’d like your help with translating the words in this book, this page to be exact.
"This prayer is called the Protection From Evil prayer and it goes; The Light Within, My Heart, My Mind, My Body, My Spirit, My Soul, I’m Protected By The Light Within. No Evil Shall Prosper, No Demons Shall Prosper, No Darkness Shall Prosper For I’m Protected By The Light Within. I Fear No Evil For Michael Protects Me. I Fear No Evil For Michael Protects Me. I Fear No Evil For Michael Protects Me."
"Did you write it down?" Paulos asked the two youngsters he came with and they nodded their heads multiple times.
"Good, Zixin, thank you again for your assistance, may you have a blessed day." said Paulos before leaving with the two youngsters. Outside the library, one of the youngsters couldn’t hold in his curiosity and asked,
"Father Paulos, that guy knows the Holy Language, why don’t we convert him and have him translate more of our archives?" Latest content publıshed on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡~𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢~𝙣𝙚𝙩
"Sam, we of the Holy Church do not convert people unwillingly as that is a Taboo. We do not force our faith onto others but let them choose it for themselves willingly. We do not seek benefits when helping those in need nor do we do it for gathering believers, we do it because it’s what we think is right, it’s the rules we live by and the Will of the Holy Spirit. Never force someone into our religion as that will leave a stain on our purity."
"I was wrong, Father Paulos, and have placed your teachings in my heart to reflect on whenever I am free."
