Chapter 150: Chapter 150
What entered the carriage was a humanoid creature no bigger than ten centimetres. This creature was wearing a literal pink rose flower dress, had pointed ears, beautiful watery skin, long pink hair and green skin. It was so beautiful, cute and adorable that the girls instantly fell in love with it. Its slightly transparent beautifully coloured butterfly wings kept flapping, producing a golden dust that dissipated after falling off its body. This little creature looked magical in every sense.
"A fairy...a fairy actually entered our carriage..." softly muttered Dorothy, afraid of scaring away the fairy by making noise. The fairy stood on Zixin’s palm after entering the carriage. On Zixin’s other palm, a bunch of aphids appeared and each was vomiting nectar. The fairy was excited, gently grabbed each aphid and kissed it, sucking all the nectar. It repeated this process until it had drank all the nectar the aphids had.
The fairy relaxed on Zixin’s palm and allowed him to gently caress it and it looked like it was enjoying being caressed by him.
"Can...can I hold her..." asked Lillian with a whisper, completely embarrassed. The fairy woke up and stood on Zixin’s shoulder.
[Yiii, Yiii, Yiii.] Its voice was also cute and sweet.
"She says she doesn’t want to be touched by humans." Zixin translated for the little creature.
"Aren’t you also a human?" Lillian retorted.
"I have six arms and antennae, which part of me indicates that I’m a human? Anyway, she doesn’t want you touching her." said Zixin before telepathically communicating with the fairy and Dorothy noticed this but remained silent. After ten minutes or so, the fairy flew out of the carriage and disappeared into the forest.
"What’s this place?" Zixin asked.
"This is the Magical Flower Garden Forest, home of the Fairies, Dryads, Nymphs, Pixies, Sprites, Leprechauns, Sylphs, Faeries, Gnomes and other cute magical creatures of nature. The forest is extremely large and vast. In the past, many people got lost while inside, some came out and some remained inside forever. Her Majesty signed a pact with the Fae Queen and Faery King, prohibiting anyone from entering this place without her permission and those who break this law will receive the death penalty. Till today, no one knows how big this place is and what secrets it’s hiding." Dorothy explained.
"And why doesn’t the fairy want to be touched by humans?" Latest content publıshed on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝙣𝙚𝙩
"That’s naturally because of what happened in the past. There was a time when these magical creatures were highly sought by mages because they are excellent main ingredients when making certain potions. In fact, there aren’t any of their body parts that are worthless and useless so because of this, many people had hunted them down to a point where they were the largest commodity in the mage market. It was only after Her Majesty took the throne that she intervened but these creatures don’t interact with humans at all except for a few exceptions like you."
"Mhm, now I understand." said Zixin before resting his head on Dorothy’s lap and closed his eyes.
"Wake me up when we reach the city."
’So cute.’ thought Dorothy now that she got to get a good look at Zixin.
Minutes eventually turned into hours and hours turned into days and in a blink of an eye, five days had passed before they finally arrived at Agen City. The streets were clean, the infrastructure was singular, double story or triple story buildings and there wasn’t a specific residential area. There was a myriad of races in this city and the mages didn’t wear mage robes but wore medieval Europe designer suits but the dresses and other female clothes were more modern.
Children happily played on the streets and hawkers and merchants shouted for people to visit their shops. Selling goods in here wasn’t so profitable when there was a hegemony like the Guild Market but they did receive patrons who weren’t adventurers or people too poor to buy at the Guild Market. This was how these merchants were able to thrive in this place.
The carriage continued to move and Zixin could see a tall building that reached above the clouds and the carriage was moving towards it.
Once Zixin got off the carriage, the building he was standing in front of was so enormous that he looked like an ant in front of it. He didn’t know how wide it was but he was sure that it exceeded a kilometre. As for how tall it was, he couldn’t even begin to imagine and people were entering and leaving the library in large numbers, children, teens, adults, the elderly, other races, anyone could enter the library.
The others were also in awe of this grand tower of a knowledge hub in a cylindrical shape with many windows that were open. Not wasting more time, everyone then entered the library.
Inside the library, there was a strong smell of books and the floor was marbled. The interior was so big and full of bookshelves that Zixin was sure that not even a lifetime would be enough for him to read all the books here. There was too much knowledge and when he looked up, it was like he was looking at a staircase to heaven. He didn’t know how many floors this place had but they were more than a hundred for sure.
Zixin then activated his Compound eyes but he didn’t see any Guardian Spirit but there were Mana Gathering Magic Formations on the base of the shelves.
"My Lord, where should we start?" asked Dorothy and Zixin didn’t know.
"How are the books categorised in here?" he asked.
"My Lord, all books in here are placed randomly but for the safety of weaker mages, each book has a Mental Capacity Tester Magic Formation. Once you touch the book, you’ll get a message directly in your mind whether you’re eligible or not to read the contents of the book. Knowing things above your level of imagination and Mental Capacity can be detrimental sometimes. There are cases of people going crazy after learning about things they shouldn’t have." explained Dorothy.
"Can I at least get copies of the books I want? Also, I’m supposed to take up a post as a librarian but there’s no one to explain anything to me, what’s going on?"
"Apologies, apologies for not receiving you in time...haa...haa...haa..."
