While moving through the maze, the group chatted and started to know each other better through these conversations. They didn’t come across goblins or other students which made them relax a bit.

When one path closed and another opened, William and Liam’s focus was shifted towards the path opened up for them. Unlike other places, this path was darker and completely silent. William and Liam stood frozen and gazing at the darkness.

"What’s wrong?" asked one of the servants, her name was Linda and the other servants name was Belinda.

"This road is not safe, let’s go back." said William and no one disagreed. As they were about to leave, they heard sounds of footsteps.

[You carry the blood of my kind. Why don’t you stay and let’s chat.] Within the darkness, a goblin champ about two meters tall with bulging muscles walked over. Its skin no longer green but much more darker with a sinister aura. On its head, there was a small tree growing from it and the sapling was healthy and vibrant. The goblin champ had High Rank 5 strength, stronger than the group.

"RUN! RUUUN!" shouted William and everyone ran away in fear.

[Why are you running away? I just want to talk...kikiki, but I also love a game of hide and seek!" said the goblin and chased after them. The group took many twists and turns whenever a path opened up but even after running for so long, they could feel the ominous presence closing the distance between them and continued to run.

"William, I’m tired. I can’t go any further."

"Me too, my feet hurt."

The group had been running for days and only had two minutes breaks. And as Mages, running is not really their thing as their phyisal stats are above average at best, unlike William and Liam who can run for days without getting tired, plus, their Special Bodies give them another advantage. Just then, another wall opened and a group of soldiers following two youngsters appeared. The army was a hundred strong and each of them at the 5th Rank.

"Ah, if it isn’t our illegitimate sister. I see you’ve recruited yourselfsome snobs to walk around with." said the male young man.

"Galland, Tessa, you two..." before Lavender could finish speaking, William grabbed her and Linda like a sack of potatoes and ran away while Liam carried Belinda. In just a few seconds, the brothers had disappeared.

"Brother, did you see that? She must have told her snobs to run away whenever they see us. At least she’s smart enough to understand and respect the hierarchy."

"You’re right. Unlike her, we are the true Prince and Princess of the Url Kingdom while she’s just an illegitimate child who doesn’t know anything about class, how lowly."

The army stood silently without uttering a single. They moved like machines that followed their programming but they felt something and encircled the two nobles with weapons, ready to fight. A minute later, the wall disappeared and a goblin goblin stood before the army.

[I can still sense their presence. They must be somewhere around here.] softly muttered the goblin to itself.

"ATTACK!" ordered the siblings. When they saw the goblin, they were so scared that their first response was to attack and kill it. It had an ominous aura surrounding it. The goblin didn’t even get to finish its sentence and was attacked by the warriors. The weapons the warriors used were enveloped by their energy which they call Aura.

Aura can be imbued in weapons, armour or the whole body or some parts of the body. It boosts the stats and attributes of whatever it’s imbued with and the higher the Warrior’s Rank, the greater the boost. Aura is almost as versatile as Magic. You can create a barrier from it, change its form into a weapon, etc.

The goblin folded its arms in a defensive position, protecting the plant on its head with its hands. The warriors made quick work of the goblin champ even though they are weaker than it. Their numbers completely overwhelmed the goblin, leaving it no chance to retaliate or run away and was chopped to pieces with its hands stuck to its decapitated head. The warriors then returned to the sides of their masters.

"What a disgusting goblin, almost gave me a heart attack!"

"Brother, all goblins are disgusting so why are you singling out this one?"

"It’s obviously different from other goblins, just look at it. Anyway, let’s get out of here, we’ve wasted a lot of time already." said Galland and walked away with the army following behind them.

One of the warriors had a hand that stabbed him from the back and came in front and was covered in his intestines and other internal organs. His consciousness only lasted a few seconds before he died. The other warriors turned around only to see the goblin champ as good as new and towered over them.

[I only wanted to ask for directions so why did you attack me?! It doesn’t matter now, what matters now is this energy you used to chop my body to pieces like it was mud. Is this how it’s used?] said the goblin and conjured up dark green leaves using Aura. These leaves looked ordinary but were far from that.

The goblin slapped one of the soldiers that he couldn’t dodge and his neck and head were lost, the corpse fell on the ground. The siblings ran away after seeing the goblin kill two of their men. The Aura Leaves also attacked the other soldiers but were blocked or parried away but then the goblin appeared in front of another soldier and killed while he blocked the Aura Leaves.

When there were openings in the goblin champ’s defence, the other warriors would attack and wound the goblin but then it healed almost instantly, making the warriors despair but continue to fight. They could already see their inevitable ends but the warriors didn’t death and fought to the last drop. When the last soldier died, the goblin no longer chased after William and his group, instead, it looked at a different direction and smile.

[This one feels stronger than those ones. I hope he doesn’t run away like the others. I really just want to talk.]
