Chapter 127: Chapter 127

"Haha, I was just lucky." said William while scratching the back of his head and smiling sheepishly.

’If I didn’t know the Body Technique you are practicing then I would have nodded in agreement but that’s the Burning Flesh and Blood Treasured Body Technique. How can luck play a role in such a dangerous technique?’ thought Lavender and didn’t say anything.

From time to time, she would correct his errors and William was a quick learner and didn’t repeat the same mistake twice. After that, the two began to spar while the maids watched on the side. Even though they looked down on William, they had to admit that the boy was talented. His strikes were deliberate, precise and decisive, leaving no room for error.

’Every time I spar with him, it always feels like I’m fighting against a war veteran so I try my best to minimise my mistakes because this crazy bastards catches on very quickly and acts on the opportunity. What a monster!’ thought Lavender with a solemn expression and focused eyes.

The spar lasted two two hours before Lavender called time out. Not only was she soaked in sweat, she was also very tired both physically and mentally. On the other hand, William looked like he was just warming up, only a few beads of sweat covered his forehead.

"I’m leaving, see you again same time tomorrow." said Lavender before leaving and after she left, William continued to practice with different weapons until it was starting to get dark. Someone suddenly appeared in front of him with a spear and pierced forward. William titled his body to the side then moved forward towards the attacker and struck his stomach with the spearshaft, sending the attacker tumbling back.

Another person snuck up behind him but he threw a dagger and stabbed the person’s knee. Everyone else hiding in the shadows finally revealed themselves and attacked at the same time. William held the spear backwards and used the spearbutt as his weapon. The weapon attacks were easily parried by William then he moved so fast and stabbed multiple times in a second. His strikes accurately stabbed the solar plexus of all the attackers, making them lose all their breath in an instant.

"Your cowardly tricks won’t work on me anymore. And if you come to bother me again, I’ll cripple you!" said William coldly before leaving.

Somewhere in the military camp, two people were playing chess inside a dimly lit tent. The both of them were middle aged men but one of them, some of his hair was grey. The younger looking one was wearing scholarly clothes and had a calm temperament while the older guy was wearing simple clothes and underneath, old scars were barely visible.

"What do you think of that boy?" asked the grey haired man and moved his pawn forward by a step.

"An unprecedented genius, no doubt about that. But his heart is not in the Url Kingdom, he can’t be used as an asset I’m afraid." replied the scholar and moved his chess piece.

"You’re our kingdom’s best strategist, don’t act like you didn’t see nothing. It’s easy to make this boy an asset, I’m asking what do you think about him. Checkmate."

"Why do you ask me when you’ve already made up your mind. The boy is good, perfect even but whether or not he can take on your mantle and replace, I highly doubt he’ll be able to do so."

"Hahaha, you look down on us warriors too much because you think we resolve everything with our fists and don’t use our minds."

"I’ve just beaten you at chess."

"I let you let me win."

"Fine then, only time will tell whether he can do it or not. Just don’t torture the boy too much."

"Hahaha, you speak like I’m a monster."

A meeting was held world leaders but the leaders weren’t personally here. Each leader was represented by an icon of fire, a water droplet, a leaf, etc.

"The goblins are on the move. I suspect they are going back to their old ways."

"Those greedy bastards! If they do go back to their old ways, let them. I’ve been wanting to exterminate this race for a very long time and the chance is about to appear."

"Their movements may seem random but in actual fact, they are looking for something."

"Or someone. Since when do goblins look for things, whoever controls them isn’t looking for something but someone. Now the question is who?"

"Whoever this person is, we must locate them first."

"Any updates on the Elven side?"

"Nothing for now, but it won’t be long before they make their move. Since they’ve decisively duped us for so long, they won’t sit by as we delve into real Runesmithy."

"And from their actions, they are clearly threatened by what we could do once we have knowledge of Runes. Melvic, Xuzi, Sasha, Blaine, Hebbs, Natalie, why didn’t you tell us the Runes were fake?"

"Simple. We don’t have any Rune knowledge. Even if we witness the whole process of Rune Writing, we don’t know if it’s truly a Rune, what it means and what it does. Only the Scribes and Recorders were capable of being able to record down Runes but they also couldn’t read them. So what were we supposed to say."

"Sasha’s correct. You can remember seeing a Rune but you won’t remember the Rune itself."

"And that archaic roar, what was that about?"

"The only plausible explanation I can think of is that that roar is from the Forgotten."

"Isn’t Forgotten only limited to knowledge and history?"

"The Forgotten is the term used by us humans for all things that occurred but we know about. It can be history, it can be knowledge and it can even be living entities. Just because they’re Forgotten doesn’t mean they don’t exist."

"The Mana Path is truly full of variables and mysteries. Just what kind of power does that entity have if a roar is powerful enough to be reverberate throughout the Nilrem World?"

"That is beyond our comprehension. Another thing on the agenda, what do we do with the one who holds Rune Knowledge? He’s far too valuable to remain here. He might even be assassinated." The most update n0vels are published on 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝~𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖~𝕟𝕖𝕥

"You’re right, maybe the goblins are actually looking for him so we must ensure his safety."

"Let’s take him to one of the 4th Divine Lands, that’s the safest place for him even as a Seeker of Knowledge."

"Who’s Divine Kingdom shall it be then?"

"Wizard Queen Nancy."

"Since we all agree, we’ll transfer him to the Divine Kingdom of the Wizard Queen, Nancy. He leaves in a week’s time."
