Chapter 101: Chapter 101

When Mr Bug released his products in the market, three people were already waiting patiently for him, Maeyd, Jersse and Evan. When the products were released, Evan only bought Rank 3 Bookworms before checking the new products and when he saw the Four Crowned Elemental Treehopper, he wanted to buy all of them but seeing the exorbitant price, he bought just one. He also bought ten thousand Rank 1 Woodworms.

Now that he’d bought everything he needed, he checked the new product and read its information.

’What a domineering insect!’ inwardly exclaimed Evan but that’s when his father suddenly appeared in front of him with a serious yet anxious expression.

"Buy one of those Rank 3 Aphids! Quick!" ordered his father and Evan bought one very quickly.

Maeyd also bought stuff very quickly, he bought all Rank 2 Bookworms and a million Rank 1 Bookworms. As for the Four Crowned Elemental Treehopper, he didn’t want it so he didn’t buy any. Then he went to the new product and was as shocked as Evan when he saw it but unlike Evan, he had a lot of money so he immediately bought all the Rank 2 Life Prolonging Aphids and four Rank 3 Life Prolonging Aphids.

Immediately after he finished his purchases, a third person bought twelve Rank 3 Life Prolonging Aphids, a Four Crowned Elemental Treehopper with the rare Lightning Element and a million Rank 1 Bookworms.

After this person, more people appeared bought the remaining Rank 1 Bookworms and Rank 1 Aphids. The Rank 3 Aphids were bought in large numbers, mind you, each one costed a hundred million GP. Someone bought someone bought twenty and another person bought fifty. The few that were left were soon bought and just like that, Mr Bug had yet again sold everything in just a few minutes.

"Where’s James? Someone go and look for James!"

"Just what’s wrong with this boy. His father is about to pass away yet he’s nowhere to be seen!"

"Honestly, what good can one expect from a drunkard? All he’s good at is squandering his father’s money. And he’s the reason the Family Head is on his deathbed!"

Many people with major or minor similar features were gathered inside one room where there was what seemed to be a dry corpse who was literally just skin and bones. The skin was so dry that you would swear that if you touched it, it would turn to dust. It was quite a horrifying sight to look at but everyone didn’t seem to mind this person’s appearance and were complaining about James.

"James my boy," the dry corpse began to speak in a hoarse and uncomfortable voice.

"I’ve done everything I could for you my boy but it seems it still wasn’t enough. I’m sorry I couldn’t help you fully awaken your Lightning Element and I’m sorry for not being there for you when you needed me the most and ended being tortured by my enemies for days and even being given the Mana Veins Poison.

I know that you love drinking alcohol to alleviate the pain of the poison that’s fused with your body and still causing unimaginable pain. I’ve failed you as a father and for that, I’m asking for your forgiveness. James...James...please forgive me..."

"Move out of the way! Move out of the way!" A drunkard entered the room and pushed everyone away.

"You’re too late James, your father has already passed away." said someone but the drunkard called James didn’t say anything and just pointed to his father the dry corpse.

Twelve tiny green bugs about the size of a fingernail flew towards the dry corpse and landed on it then bit into the dry corpse. As they did so, their bodies began to shrink and shrivelled up until they turned to dust. No one said anything but after the bugs died and still no miracle, they were all disappointed.

"The Family Head had left us. Make funeral arrangements." one of the elderly spoke up and everyone left the room except for James. Nᴇw novel chapters are publɪshed on 𝚗𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚕·𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚎·𝚗𝚎𝚝

"Father, I know about the sacrifices you made for me. I know that you used some of your Life Essence to help me awaken my Lightning Element. I also know that you sold some of your lifespan to find my location when I was kidnapped. And I know that it took half of your remaining lifespan to force out most of the Mana Veins Poison from my body. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me." said James before leaving the room with red eyes.

After James left the room, a finger of the dry corpse twitched and was slowly rejuvenating.

Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!

Dark clouds formed above the mansion as thunder and lightning rumbled and crackled, scaring everyone.

"What’s going on?!" someone asked.

"Could it be that the world is weeping for the passing of the Family Head, he was the most talented Lightning Mage afterall!"

"I doubt it. Many Mages have died, some more powerful than the Family Head but I’ve never heard of such a phenomenon before."

"This phenomenon looks familiar, I’m sure I’ve read about it somewhere before!" said an elderly lady with a noble bearings.

Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!

A lightning bolt struck the mansion, causing the magic formations to activate and cast a barrier that blocked the lightning bolts but the barrier only lasted about five bolts before shattering into tiny fragments. The lightning bolts then struck the mansion over and over again, causing cracks to appear all over it.

Everyone then ran outside the mansion with terror stricken eyes and pale faces and some didn’t make it out alive. Soon, the mansion completely collapsed and seeing this, many people began to cry. Their Family Head had just passed away and now their home had also been destroyed, in this moment, even the strongest willed would also cry. Even James couldn’t hold back his tears.

"What has the Sizzle Family done to incur such bad luck..." an old man muttered softly. The lightningbolts kept striking down on the same spot like trying to get rid of an enemy.

"I remember now...I remember now. I read about this in the family archives! Hahaha, this is not a bad omen, this is not a bad omen! Hahaha, our family has been blessed, our ancestors haven’t forsaken us!"

"Gordon, what nonsense are you spouting! Our home had just been destroyed together with the Family Head’s body and you’re calling this a blessing. This is bad luck, the worst luck!"

"Hahaha, Crystal, if you consider the birth of an Eight Star Lightning Mage as a bad luck then you’ve completely lost your mind, hahaha!" as soon as Gordon said this, a powerful Aura emanated from the rubble, blasting everything away.
