Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Back in my apartment, which was suddenly feeling way too small, the five former members of the Aegis of Light were gently placed on the floor, still out cold.
Chiyoko and I headed to the kitchen. She tied an apron over her Dark Cherish costume and immediately took charge. "Akane-chan, wash these vegetables. Miki-chan, set the table."
"Homura, dear, could you keep an eye on our guests for me? Aoi, the large pot, please. We're having a celebration hot pot."
The apartment was filled with the sounds and smells of a family making a feast. It was a scene of pure, domestic chaos, completely at odds with the five unconscious super-soldiers in the living room.
As I chopped vegetables beside my pregnant fiancée, surrounded by my harem of devoted magical girls, I had to admit the Author was right. My life was a piece of trashy, heartfelt, and insane drama.
"Alright, kitchen crew," I said, marinating the meat for the hot pot. "Let's hear it. Who was the MVP?"
The question hung in the air, instantly silencing the cheerful chatter.
"It was totally me!" Akane declared, brandishing a half-peeled carrot like a weapon. "I took down Golem! She was their tank and damage dealer!"
"Please," Miki said with a theatrical sigh. "I psychologically dismantled their leader with a single song. Finesse beats brute force every time."
"I controlled the battlefield and contained their leader and assassin," Homura stated, her voice even. "My contribution was essential."
They all looked at Aoi. As the strategist, her assessment was final.
Aoi calmly finished dicing an onion with surgical precision, placed the knife down, and turned to face me, her expression neutral.
"Objectively speaking, each had a critical role," she began. "Akane took down their heavy hitter. Miki broke their leader's will. Homura controlled the entire battlefield."
She paused, taking a breath. "However, the turning point that created the opening for a total victory was Chiyoko's healing and her Mother's Embrace. It was a high-risk maneuver that completely broke the enemy's cohesion."
She gave a slight, respectful nod toward Chiyoko. "Strategically, the Most Valuable Player was Chiyoko."
A stunned silence fell over the room. No one could argue with her logic. The three combatants looked at Chiyoko, who blushed, completely surprised. "
Oh, my," she said. "I… I was just doing my part."
Akane groaned, Miki pouted, and Homura gave a small, accepting nod.
The verdict was in. The MVP was the team's pregnant, dark-goddess mother. All eyes turned to me.
"Well now," I said, walking over and giving Chiyoko's ass a firm slap. "Looks like you get the first load tonight, Mrs. Hakuto." I gave her a wink. "Hope you don't mind an audience."
A deep, beautiful blush spread across Chiyoko's face, but she leaned into my touch, a sultry, pleased smile on her lips. "I will do my best to put on a good show, Master."
I wiped my hands on my apron. "Alright, we're done here. Akane, Aoi, wake up our guests. Can't have them miss dinner."
Akane and Aoi exchanged a look. "You got it, Master!" Akane said, cracking her knuckles. "Time for a wake-up call!"
"A more… delicate approach might be better, Akane," Aoi sighed.
With a quiet command from Homura, the containment sphere dissolved. Aoi knelt beside Valkyrie and gave her a gentle shake. "Wake up. Dinner is ready."
One by one, they stirred. The berserk rage was gone, replaced by a deep, hazy confusion. They sat up, looking around at my small, crowded apartment, at the steaming hot pot on the table, at the strange group of dark magical girls watching them.
"Where are we?" Valkyrie asked, her voice hoarse. "What happened? I remember the battle, and then… chaos."
"My armor, it's gone…" Golem said, rubbing her head.
They were weak, powerless, and utterly bewildered. They were prisoners in their enemy's home, about to be forced to eat their food.
"You lost," I said with a smirk. "So you're supposed to disband, according to the terms of the fight."
"But that would be boring." I gestured to the table. "Your punishment is having dinner with us, and then watching our after-party. Fair?"
The five members of the Aegis stared at me, their minds struggling to process the words.
"Punishment?" Valkyrie said, her pride stung. "…This is mockery."
"It's a trick," Sylph hissed. "The food is poisoned."
"Please," Akane scoffed from the table. "If we wanted you dead, you'd be dead. Now shut up and eat. Master's being nice."
Slowly and hesitantly, driven by hunger and a total lack of other options, the Aegis of Light got to their feet and took the empty seats at the table.
The dinner was a weird, tense affair.
My girls were laughing and grabbing food, completely at ease, a victorious army enjoying the spoils. The Aegis girls just sat there, picking at their plates in a stunned, guarded silence.
After the meal, the "after-party" began. I led a blushing, expectant Chiyoko to the center of the living room, in full view of everyone.
The Fallen Stars watched with eager, knowing smiles. The Aegis of Light watched with a dawning, horrified disbelief.
"What… what are you doing?!" Valkyrie demanded, her voice shaking with outrage.
I just smiled, my hand already sliding down Chiyoko's back.
"The MVP gets her reward," Miki explained sweetly from the couch, not even looking at Valkyrie. "You get to watch. That's your punishment."
I glanced over at Aoi. She was watching with her usual analytical gaze, but I saw a flicker of something else in her eyes, a possessive tension. A leader observing her Master reward another.
"Your leadership was excellent too, Aoi," I said, my voice low. "You deserve a prize as well."
Before she could react, my tentacles shot out, pulling her into the center of the room with us.
