Chapter 1948: Chapter 1948

Judging by the expression alone, it’s hard to discern what Ryle is thinking, but it certainly isn’t anything pleasant.

If it was just a simple deception, he wouldn’t be too angry; sometimes, half-truths are the deadliest!

The goal given by that man at midnight was indeed fake, but the damage those orange smokes inflicted on the Zombie King was real!

Things got complicated, and numerous individuals were troubling Ryle; he realized he underestimated Su Sigui, that woman, who became more insane than the zombies and more terrifying than beasts as she watched him walk into a dead end. As hunters, even the zombies had to be cautious not to get hurt by her trapped beast-like struggle!

This must be ended quickly.

Ryle thought because it wasn’t fun at all. He did enjoy gambling, but in previous bets, even if he lost, the loss was just a drizzle, or sometimes, there wasn’t any loss at all, while those who gambled with him had terrible outcomes, win or lose.

This time was different; a loss couldn’t be resolved with a mere word like before. He had to wager his life!

"Damn it." He cursed under his breath, turned, and left, abandoning the twenty-plus Level 8 followers he had sent out. He had considered rushing in to simply destroy the Cloud Gorge Base with brute force, but Cloud Gorge Base was unlike Hidden Dragon Shelter City back in his homeland. Not only was there a Level 9 New Human inside, but there was also someone of his own kind hidden at the same level as him.

Ryle was well aware that among all the known and heard existences, the Zombie King from China wanted him dead the most!

When Tang Ye tried to absorb the memories of his followers, he realized that upon entering Cloud Gorge Base, Tang Ye would inevitably intervene when he dealt with that Level 9 New Human.

Sending himself to die? Ryle wouldn’t do that. Thɪs chapter is updated by 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝙣𝙚𝙩

This matter is best left to his "friends."

The massive zombie horde constantly advanced toward Cloud Gorge Base, amidst which zombies fell to the ground suddenly and their bodies turned black. Occasionally, fallen zombies shed their skin entirely, transforming into radiated species with exposed muscle tissues, and their roars resounded ceaselessly!

Ryle himself walked away in the opposite direction of the advancing horde.

At Cloud Gorge Base, Su Sigui, who had reached the rooftop, tightly gripped her new weapon, feeling an unmatched connection with it. She coldly watched the radiated species fighting countless Level 8 New Human beings in the distance. Soon, she raised the hand holding the menacing longsword and pointed its tip at one of the Level 8 radiated species, then suddenly let go!

The sound of the sword cutting through the air was somewhat piercing; the wind stirred brushed her long hair, and the longsword made of Zombie King’s flesh flew off like an arrow released from a bowstring. Its speed was so fast that the Level 8 new human beings fighting the radiated species in the distance hadn’t yet reacted when the storm swept, and they couldn’t control their posture, dropping from mid-air. Upon realizing it, the radiated species they had fought had already vanished!

The sword’s blade easily penetrated the body of one radiated species, slammed it fiercely against another of its kind, and without losing momentum, pinned two more to the ground!

Thick black fog emanated, rapidly corroding the bodies of these radiated species, causing the Level 8 New Human powerhouses who had just stabilized their posture to retreat repeatedly!

"What is this..." Initially, they thought it was the silver-armored zombies from Cloud Gorge Base taking action, but upon closer inspection, it wasn’t; it was a living weapon, only crafted from the silver-armored zombies.

But few used active weapons made from silver-armored zombies because they could even infect new humans into zombies, and getting hurt by one could be unbearable.

The other radiated species that weren’t hit by the sword were momentarily stunned, but they quickly rallied, roaring, and charged savagely toward the Level 8 new human beings nearby!

"Watch out!" One Level 8 new human warned a distant companion, but the words had barely left his lips when a radiated species collided with him, sending him flying backward, its weaponized arm stabbing clean through his abdomen, the intense pain instantly paling his complexion.

Fortunately, no vital parts were injured. He endured the pain, quickly stood up from the ground, and swiftly retreated, but the radiated species that had collided with him roared and followed closely, a weaponized arm lifted high, ready to strike down on his head!

In a hurry, he raised his knife to block, sparks flew upon the collision, the storm opened up, and everything around was destroyed with overwhelming force!

Standing on the rooftop in the distance, Su Sigui held her knife, aimed at one zombie, then slowly lowered it.

"Let your lives be the banner..." she murmured, her figure vanished, a light breeze arose from the ground, and no one saw how she disappeared.

In the next second, as one Level 8 new human coordinated with a nearby companion to repulse one of the radiated species, before they could react, a low growl came from the radiated species entangled with them, and a menacing blade tip suddenly pierced its body, emerging effortlessly from its chest.

"Mayor!" someone quickly spotted Su Sigui behind the radiated species, but she didn’t respond. With a cold expression, she casually sliced upward with the knife, splitting it in two, then swung horizontally!

The extremely sharp blade cut directly across its neck!

Just like that, one Level 8 radiated species was directly split into four pieces, unable to transfer, the evolution crystal fell from the halved head.

She didn’t pick it up; her figure flickered and disappeared again, reappearing before another zombie in the blink of an eye, her knife fell with a gleaming cold light, instantly mashing another radiated species to pieces!

With the addition of a Level 9 New Human, the battle transitioned to a one-sided situation, those radiated species, formerly immortal like the Little Qiang, in Su Sigui’s hands were no different than domestic birds or livestock, instantly diced into pieces, with some losing their lives with just one unlucky strike!

A minute later, all radiated species met their demise, and she arrived before the longsword she had just thrown, reaching down to pull it out, beneath which lay a heap of rusty bones.

Upon gripping the hilt again, she seemed momentarily dazed, recalling her journey from being a girl terrified even by ordinary zombies to the present Su Sigui, capable of casually slaughtering Level 8 zombies. She questioned herself whether such growth was sufficient?

The past self and the present self seemed like entirely different people.

On Tang Ye’s side, seeing her wield the weapon he gifted so adeptly, he felt reassured and silently left without disturbing her.
