Chapter 284: Chapter 284
"Is it using that anti-overturn technology from the most expensive RV in the world before the apocalypse, the one that cost 17,000,000?" Jing Shu’s eyes lit up. She had been worried about the RV being too tall and clumsy, prone to tipping over when climbing slopes. She hadn’t expected Su Malie’s father to be so attentive.
Jing Shu remembered that one of the main selling points of that most expensive RV was this feature.
Da Shi nodded and said, "Rest assured, we are only using the best RSC technology available. However, a vehicle this tall and large presents significant challenges, so we spent a month fine-tuning it to perfection. Coupled with the vehicle’s inherent all-terrain capability and high grip on inclines, and now with the addition of this stability system, climbing 60-degree slopes is no problem. It’s safe to say it has truly achieved all-terrain capability."
Jing Shu nodded, only half understanding.
Da Shi pointed to the twelve wings on the RV’s body and said, "This is the second gift from Boss Su for added safety. These twelve rectangular boxes welded on usually contain compressed natural gas. Rest assured, we only use the ones with the best and largest capacity available. These gases can provide the entire RV with 24-hour heating, hot water circulation, cooking, and other functions, lasting for up to three months."
Jing Shu’s mouth fell open in delight. Oh my god, my biggest energy concern has been solved! Now I won’t have to worry about freezing like a dog inside when it’s seventy degrees below zero outside.
However, Jing Shu also picked up on the unspoken implication. "So, what can these boxes do when they’re not being used for their usual purpose?"
Da Shi said cryptically, "In critical moments, like if the RV overturns or falls into a pit or other dangerous situations—in short, we modified the vehicle’s original automatic radar sensing system. When the radar on both sides of the RV senses an impending rollover, it will deploy a safe, arc-shaped support frame with wheels in 0.1 seconds, forming a hexagon.
This support frame can even keep the RV moving if it flips over, continuing until it reaches a safe area where the vehicle can be righted. It also includes a rocket-propelled escape system, but this is a one-time consumable. Unless you’re trapped in a perilous situation, don’t use it, as it will severely damage the vehicle."
Jing Shu nodded, indicating she understood. After all, the recoil from that rocket system must be huge.
It shot out in all directions like a giant spiderweb.
"Amazing! Even if the RV flips, it can still move using the side wings. If both sides are deployed, it can also prevent us from sinking in a swamp. But these supports look only as thick as my arm. Can they really support such a heavy RV?"
Da Shi nodded. "First, its design is based on hexagonal stability theory for a more secure, damage-resistant structure. Second, rest assured, we only use the best material currently available: graphene. It’s composed of chains formed by thousands of interlinked atoms, many times stronger than Diamond and over a hundred times stronger than steel. Its performance is stable, and it’s incredibly robust and indestructible."
Jing Shu nodded, still only half-understanding. Anyway, even if these supports are small, as long as they’re sturdy, that’s what matters. I feel very reassured. They used the best materials available, after all.
"The modifications to the front of the RV were handled by Mr. Chu. He converted it to a gasoline-electric hybrid and left space on the RV roof for bacterial solar panels. The power is definitely not as good as before, and the top speed is only around 60 mph."
Da Shi led Jing Shu to the driver’s cabin. This area used to be sealed off from the rear. However, when Yang Yang was driving it, someone fired a shot that pierced through the passenger seat. So, they removed the passenger seat and converted the space into a passageway, which now also contains a folding bed.
Jing Shu’s first impression upon entering the RV was of pure luxury. Chu Zhuohua was truly serious about this; he even had the RV completely renovated. The interior, which had been nearly dilapidated after the drive back from the United States, now looked brand new.
"We significantly modified the entire RV, including adding the second level to the front cabin. We weren’t involved in the other functions and modifications, so you’ll have to explore those yourself. However, please come with me to the second level of the front cabin first, and I’ll explain a few things."
"This way, please." Da Shi stood on an 80x80 cm cylindrical platform in the passenger passageway. He pressed a button, and the lift ascended smoothly to the second floor. Below the cylindrical platform was a steel support rod, which didn’t obstruct the space in the passenger area.
"Holy crap, my RV actually has an elevator!" After the cylindrical platform descended for her, Jing Shu also went directly from the first level of the front cabin to the second.
This was the second-floor bedroom she had requested. Jing Shu felt a thrill of excitement. Soft, warm lights were on in the RV, allowing her to see her future bedroom clearly. The first thing that caught her eye was a large, streamlined pane of glass occupying two-thirds of the front end of the vehicle.
"Although this is a bedroom, it’s equipped with 270-degree panoramic metallic glass. Rest assured, we only use the world’s best and hardest bulletproof glass. It also serves as an observation tower, complete with ultra-bright lights that can illuminate over five hundred meters. There’s also a single-person elevator with direct access to the driver’s cabin. The bedroom features a 1.8m x 1.2m single bed that flips down to become a desk. Additionally, it’s furnished with a sofa, a tea table, storage compartments, and a multifunctional area."
The best is good enough for me... very reassuring.
Jing Shu touched the glass. The view from this high up would be incredible. Too bad the apocalypse has plunged everything into darkness. Still, that doesn’t seem to bother me too much. She tapped the glass. This rumored metallic glass doesn’t seem all that different. But I really do bedroom.
When the heavy snows come in the fifth year, and everything outside is a vast expanse of white... sitting on the sofa by the tea table, sipping piping hot, creamy milk tea, gazing out at the boundless snowy landscape... How beautiful!
The RV moving along, me sitting five meters high, enjoying the scenery, well-fed and warm in the middle of the apocalypse...
Or waking up in the morning to see ice sculptures and bizarrely shaped, snow-covered plants receding into the distance as we drive. It wouldn’t be oppressive and windowless like ordinary RVs. Actually, that would be pretty nice.
Jing Shu really loved this kind of open vista! And she adored the interior design style too. The classic, refined elegance of ivory white throughout, complemented by warm lighting and natural wood furniture, plus the newly added underfloor heating and central air conditioning, all greatly enhanced both comfort and beauty.
"Those are all the surprises Boss Su gifted you. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now. Rest assured..." Da Shi had finished explaining their modifications, but it looked like he was about to offer a few more reassurances. Orıginal content can be found at 𝗇𝗈𝗏𝖾𝗅✦𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾✦𝗇𝖾𝗍
Jing Shu studied Da Shi, the young man with a small tuft of beard, and smiled. "Alright, I really am very reassured. Please thank Boss Su for me. I genuinely love this surprise."
If he says ’rest assured’ a few more times, I’m actually going to start worrying.
