Kathleen quickly flagged down a cab, tears threatening, she wasn't going to embarrass herself by crying, images of Nicole sitting on Derek's thighs, her arms wrapped around his neck kept playing in her head, she regretted coming to the hospital, she knew Nicole was taking advantage of the situation that they both had a son together to get close to Derek, she brought out her handkerchief and blew her nose and she thought again about the scene she just witnessed. She had promised herself that she would not allow anyone to take Derek from her and what did she just do, she had turned tail and ran away at Nicole's manipulation and by running away, she was giving Nicole an upper hand over Derek.

"Turn around" she ordered the cab driver who glanced at her through the rearview mirror, "did you say something, ma'am?"

"I said turn around" she gritted and the driver did a u-turn and headed back, she was going to have to speak with Derek, did he still blame her for what happened? She couldn't stand his silence any longer and she would have to put Nicole in her rightful place.

The doctor told her that Kyle had been discharged from the hospital earlier and Derek and Nicole had taken him home, she felt a pang in her heart, she was about to leave the hospital when she saw Marcella, had she also come to see Kyle? She headed towards her to tell her that Kyle had been discharged and her brow furrowed when she noticed that Marcella was heading towards another direction of the hospital, did she come for something else or perhaps she didn't know Kyle's hospital room, she got curious as she saw her enter into one of the hospital room and she immediately headed towards that direction. She got there just in time to see the doctor handing her a rounded white substance which she quickly placed in her bag, Kathleen wondered at the use of that drug, did Marcella has a sickness she didn't want anyone to know about? And was secretly treating it, she quickly hid behind a post and watched as Marcella came out of the room and headed outside. She quickly ran outside to catch up with her, "hey Marcella, what are you doing here?"

Marcella stopped on her track, her expression looked shocked at seeing Kathleen, and for a moment, she seemed confused.

"I came here to visit Kyle but unfortunately was told by the doctor that they've gone home" Kathleen explained, carefully watching Marcella's expression, she quickly recovered from her shock as she replied, "same with me, I have to go now, my husband might need me" she quickly entered her car, not bothering to offer Kathleen a ride, she seemed agitated and uneasy and Kathleen frowned as she watched her drive away, it was obvious that Marcella had just lied to her which clearly indicated that she was hiding something.

Derek had taken Nicole and Kyle to the house he had promised and helped in putting things in place for Kyle to settle in. Kyle had refused Nicole to hold him only insisting on Derek, "can you please stay with him until he has fallen asleep before you leave? He obviously wants you to stay"

Derek glanced at Kyle who had fisted his little hand round his finger as if he never want to let him go, Derek felt torn, he wanted to go home early today to spend some time with Kathleen, he knew she felt bad yesterday thinking he also thought she could harm Kyle on purpose, he glanced down again at kyle who suddenly smiled at him, showing his gun and he decided to stay a little while with him.

Kathleen glanced at the wall clock for what seemed to be the hundredth time, it was so late already and Derek still wasn't back, it was already past midnight, where was he? He had tried calling him but his line wasn't connecting, she decided to try one more time, she was suddenly hopeful when she heard the ringing on the other side but instead of Derek picking up his call, it was a female's voice that answered.

"You should go to sleep Kathleen, Derek is not coming home tonight, he's with me" she heard Nicole's voice say and then the dialer tone. Kathleen gritted her teeth, how dare she pick Derek's call, where was Derek, she wanted some explanation, she furiously punched his number again and was told the line was switched off, she threw her phone on the bed and hissed, so, she had switched off Derek's phone, she flopped on the bed gazing at the ceiling, Derek was already spending the night with Nicole, perhaps, she was fighting a lost battle, for as long as there is Kyle, Derek will always be connected with Nicole.

Nicole switch off Derek's phone with a malicious glint in her eyes, she stared at Derek who was fast asleep on the couch, he had been waiting for Kyle to sleep before he could leave but had fallen asleep before Kyle, she had quickly picked up his phone when it rang before the ringing could wake him up and was furious when she saw it was Kathleen calling, it was so late already and she could picture her waiting for Derek's return, she hissed furiously as she answered the call, satisfied at the shock she had sensed as she quickly switched off the phone.

She stared at Derek as an idea formed in her head, she quickly changed into her sexiest nightwear as she laid beside him on the couch, resting her head on his arms.

It was almost dawn when Derek opened his eyes, he couldn't believe he had fallen asleep here, he tried to move but his arms felt numb and weighty, he felt a breath on his neck and he glanced down to see Nicole coiled up against him, he frowned as he tapped her to wake up, she opened her eyes, blinking twice as she stared at him but instead of standing up, she moved her legs against his thigh, turning suddenly she kissed him hard on the lips, the unexpected kiss stunned Derek for a moment before he pushed her away from him and she fell on the floor, "what the hell are you doing?" He barked getting up from the couch.

Nicole quickly stood up from the floor and removed her nightgown, standing completely naked in front of him, "you can have me, Derek, I'm all yours"

"Put on your clothes Nicole" Derek gritted and turned to leave, Nicole quickly grabbed him from behind, rubbing her breasts against his back, "what's in me that you don't like Derek? Am I not beautiful enough? Why can't you see me?" She cried

Derek simply unwrapped her arms from around him and took two steps away from her, "Listen, Nicole, I love Kathleen and I can't see anyone apart from her so don't even try"

"We had a son together Derek, Kyle didn't fall from the sky you know"

"And you know what you did that brought about Kyle, if you hadn't drugged me, there would be no Kyle, thank goodness I have no memory of the event that took place"

Nicole made to grab his hand, "Derek, I love you, we would have been husband and wife now if Kathleen hadn't stepped in, please give me a chance"

"I'm sorry Nicole but it's already too late, yes, Kathleen stepped in but I fell in love with her" Derek bent down, picking her clothes from the floor, he threw them at her, "get dressed" he opened the door and stepped out, entering his car, he quickly drove away.

Nicole stared at the closed door for a moment, she angrily dashed away the tears that formed in her eyes, "I'll have you, Derek, sooner or later you'll be mine, mark my words" she vowed as she flopped on the couch staring into space.
