Chapter 47: Chapter 47

Even though she felt bad, Ashy still get up to go to work. Hoping that she would see Paul and maybe just talk to him about their misunderstanding.

Arriving at the office, she saw that no one was in Paul's office yet. That means he hasn't come yet.

After a few minutes he's approaching where she is. Ashy stood up to greet him, but he just passed her as if he saw nothing.

She followed him inside.

She greeted him though she felt a little bit awkward the way he acted as he arrived.. "Good morning, sir," she said. He moved slightly closer to him so that he would notice that she was inside.

"Yes, anything I can do for you?" It is a formal question, unusual and hurtful words coming from him.

She laid down the documents he needed to study.

"These are the projects that need your approval. That needs to be done today, sir. " her voice that seem so hard to heard.

She was hurt by the coldness of his dealings with hee, but she understood because she knew she had hurt him.

"Storm will do the review. There are more important ones that I should do first, and I'm taking care of them right now. If you don't have anything to say, you can go out." He commands her as if his heart is far away from her.

She felt a sudden relationshio between employee and employer.

"Does it really have to be like this?"

"Which?" He asked as if he don't habe any idea with what she had asked for.

"Does this have to be how you treat me?" She asked while not taking her eyes off him.

"This is what you wanted, right? You want us to be formal, especially when we're in the office. I'm giving it to you now. So, what's wrong?" He asked a question as if he did not know what was going on.

"You're doing this because you hate me. You're doing this because you want to punish me. Is that what you want so you can show me how much pain I caused you?"

"If you call it punishment, Ash, I can't do anything to change how you interpret it. That's your opinion and I don't have the right to change it. Now if you're having a hard time, you can leave and avoid having conversation with me." He sat down and then leaned on the swivel chair while staring at her.

"I'm at fault yes I admitted that, but isn't it too much? Is it that hard for you to forgive me?" She asked tearfully while holding the chair because she felt like she was going to lose her balance and would fall down at any moment.

"Do you think Ash, your guilt is so superficial? As in? Why, how many days have you been gone? Do you know how it feels that while I'm here, you're there with my brother, who is your ex-boyfriend, and I don't know what's going on with the both of you? I'm a man Ash I'm not a fool! " he looked dark on her.

"Because you don't trust me. Its clear enough. All that matters to you is the way how you felt things, you don't trust me, do you?" She asked.

"Only you can answer your question, Ash. Do I really not trust you? Is there any reason for me to lose trust in you?" It is a serious question from him.

Ashy stood in her silence, there was a point to it. She felt even more guilt because she didn't know how to defend herself, especially since she knew she had done something to make him angry.

"Whatever you think, I don't know how to change that. Maybe I was wrong to go with your brother. In case I can't do anything to go back alone during those times. That's why I'm explaining to you, isn't it? For you to understand. But how can you understand if your mind is closed?" Her voice rose slightly.

Only then did she realize that there was someone at her table and she needed to go to it. She wiped the tear from her eye, then she came out.

As Ashy walked out, Paul just stared at her. He didn't even utter a word that could alleviate his suffering.

He kept his heart hard to feel how sincere she is in apologizing to him.

He didn't want to do it but had he had to.

While at the secretary's table, Ashy saw that Jem was staring at her. As the papers are laid on the table,

"Do you need anything else?" she asked as she couldn't look Jem in the eye.

Jem held out her hands.

She felt what her friend meant. She could no longer hold back her tears.

She sat down, and then the friend followed.

Later, she saw Paul come out.

"I'll be back after lunch." That's all and he left the office.

Ashy just followed Paul's gaze.

"Ash, are you okay?"

"How can it be okay? You saw how he treated me, didn't you? It's colder than ice. I don't know how long we'll be like this. I don't even know if we'll be okay. My conscience is eating me Jem, "she burst into tears as she looked at her friend.

"I'm sorry Ash, I didn't know that the result of what we did would be like that. We sent you and Storm too much for your happy ending. We didn't think you could suffer like that. We didn't think it would have such a strong effect on Paul." she can't find the right wprds to make her feel okay.

"There's nothing I can do there, Jem. Nothing will happen if I get mad with those that has been done already. That won't help either. I'll only make myself more miserable." she breathe deeply.

Jem held Ashy's hand.

"The board will have a meeting later. Storm will definitely be there too. Everyone is there and you can't be without them. Just do what you know is right." friend's reminder.

"I really don't know how to behave normally later. I don't know how I'm going to deal with Paul as I know Storm is around. We've talked and I've ended everything about us. My conscience can't bear to be happy while I know I'm hurting someone. "

"Is it forbidden to be happy Ash? Is Paul's brain so narrow that he can't understand you?" Her friend's question.

"You already answered your question, Jem. You already have the answer. You saw how he reacted, didn't you?" It's a depressing response to the friend.

It was too late when she realized that she was angry with her. She just smiled with the fact that their friendship will make them okay.

"Ohh why? You're still happy? Aren't you hurt by what he's showing you? Did you see thes Storm being like that? Yes, he was confused then, but he never treated you like that when you had a problem. " It makes her sad to look at her friend.

"Because if anything good happened today, it's nothing but the fact that we're friends even if we're fighting. I didn't even realize that we were okay, "she smiled at Jem. She stood up to hug her friend.

"Your drama will make you crazy. You even kicked me out of your house. You'll just hug me too. Ohh, what are you doing now? You missed me? "She smiled foolishly at her friend.

"Yes, It's you, you have a lot of dramas."

"I'm sorry. I'm moving in." She touched her hand.

"All right, leave first, maybe your boss is looking for you, I don't want to see you being kicked out in this company." She joked.

"All right, I'll have dinner at your house, right?"

She smiled at her.

Somehow, she felt relieved that the friend had talked.

A moment later, a man came to their office. He looks handsome, clean and looks fragrant. If he wasn't mistaken, it was Paul's friend. He had never seen it with Storm.

"Good morning, sir, is there anything I can do to assist you?" She politely inquired.

"Thank you. Is Paul Chavez already in?" He asked looking into the other room. Obviously, he already knew the answer.

"Ahmm yes sir, earlier. He just came out for something important that's what he said. When someone looks for him, I'll tell him he'll be back after lunch. So it's still an hour before he can come back. Are you willing to wait?" she asked politely.

"I don't think I can wait any longer. We have a conversation right now and he should be here." He was annoyed by her answer to him.

She was also annoyed by the actions of this man in front of her. What a good-looking man he is. Who has a rude attitude.

"Sir, just wait, or I'll call him so he can come back right away." She suggested.

Its screaming answer was, "Then do it."

She exercised great restraint because she did not want to look ignorant in front of this man.

"Sir, I'm sorry he didn't answer. I also don't know where he went." Ashy just frowned.

"Isn't that your job? You're his trusted secretary and you should act like one. But you don't seem to know anything about your boss."

"I'm his secretary, sir. That's my job here in the office, but that doesn't mean I'll watch his every move. I'm sorry to tell you this, I am not his babysitter," she replied sarcastically.

A loud voice rang out behind her. "Ashy!!!" a loud voice rang out behind her. Sh ewas surprised to see Paul standing behind her and dark-faced as he stared at her.

"What did you say?" He repeats as her approaches her.

"I just answered what he said, sir. Isn't that right? Not all of your moves, should be known by me. "Her self-defense.

"How long have you been trying to answer that to a visitor? He's still here in the office?" The looks he threw at her were painful.

"See? See how your secretary treated your business partners? No wonder Paul. " The man smiled sarcastically at her.

Ashy was silent about what the man said. She was very ashamed of herself. Why didn't he come right away so that he would know what he was telling her before?

Paul said, "You're losing your manners, Ashy." He shrugged it off. The man immediately followed.

Based on what she sees in the mirror, the two seem to be arguing. She immediately felt guilt. What if their partnership is ruined because of what she did? Why is it that she sent the heat from her head? She should just control himself.

After a while, the man came out. He even looked at her from head to toe before finally leaving the office.

He entered Paul's office.

"Paul, I'm sorry I didn't know he was your business partner. His words are awkward. He interfered with my job being your secretary, so I was able to answer him. " bow while waiting for his answer.

"Whether he's my business partner or not, you should respect everyone coming in. As the host of this company, you should be the one to lower your pride. Don't handle the reason that you're my girlfriend. Learn to separate personal relationships from work responsibilities. " He just looked at her for a moment and continued doing what he was doing.

"I know, that's not the point. If you just heard what he told me, maybe you'll understand why I answered him that way. If you don't,..."she defended himself, but it just seemed like he didn't have it.

"Can you please stop it Ash, don't act like you're the victim? Because for whatever reason, I won't listen either. You're just wasting saliva on your explanation. I don't care if it's your fault or not. That's what I believe. " It's hard to push it forward.

"Is it about us again? Is it about my sin against you again? Why? Is it because of what everything I'm going to do connected to what my mistake? Isn't there a chance to separate my sin from the treatment of other people, as your secretary? Why do I seem to do everything wrong? " she protested.

"Because you're really wrong. Don't act right because from any angle you look wrong. Now, if you have nothing more to say, you have to leave. He repelled her.

Ashy felt the pain of every word that came out of Paul's mouth. She could feel his anger at her. She did not know how to atone for her sin and how to save their relationship.

While wiping away her tears, she meets Storm. He just look at her and then head to Paul's office.

He also came out immediately and they didn't seem to have a good conversation.
