Chapter 149: Chapter 149
Chapter 150 Live Interview
Almost without even thinking about it, anybody would know that Zoe Roosevelt and Ann must be doing those things again.
Last time, she clamored so much at Zoe Roosevelt's engagement banquet. Now Walker has not heard anything from her for a whole month due to injury.
They must think that the rumors about their marriage were all false, maybe they think they have broken up already.
Dana couldn't wait to fix the misconceptions about everything.
After Dana and Hussey bid farewell, surprisingly, they did not go back to the hospital ward for the first time but went to Silver Beach.
It has been a long time since no one has come to live in Silver Beach, but Walker still maintains the cleanliness that people come to clean every day.
There was no occupying the house.
Dana burst into air and suddenly felt that she was the only one left in the world.
Her father went to jail.
Ann and Manny Brown stared at her like wolves.
Walker was injured.
The people around her would never let her go and have some peace of mind.
She then threw herself into the bed, suddenly feeling very lonely.
"Young Master Walker." She uttered.
She wondered when he would ever recover.
Dana sighed sadly. Not knowing that all of a sudden, she fell soundly asleep.
When she woke up again, Dana heard a knock on the door.
Dana suddenly frowned, creating an illusion that seemed like a world away.
Suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something, and immediately rushed out of the bed and quickly went to the door to open it.
She thought of Walker Herbert.
Dana was so nervous that she opened the door several times without successfully opening it.
With a few clicks, the door was finally opened.
"Dana!"
A woman's delicate voice sounded. Hussey's beautiful face appeared from behind the door, and Dana's beautiful eyes widened.
"Hussey, why are you here?" Dana was surprised.
"I'm afraid you are in a bad mood, so I came here to accompany you." Hussey responded.
When Hussey came, Dana was of course happy. But she was also a little embarrassed and felt that it was troublesome.
"Are you sleeping? You can go to bed for a while, and I'll cook for you." Hussey offered.
"How does this work?" Dana asked.
"Oh, don't force it." Hussey said, raising her sleeves.
"You go and rest. I'll cook for you so you can eat a little. And then we'll go to the hospital to find Walker." Hussey added.
An hour later, they went to the hospital.
Dana spent most of the day with Hussey.
After consuming all of her bad moods, she became the carefree and sweet girl again and returned to Walker Herbert. She wore a happy face again before facing him.
When she opened the door to enter the room, she heard him talking to somebody over the phone.
"Okay
"It's her."
"She was not wrong about this, so I want to help her."
"It has nothing to do with her and me."
"You only need to know that she was wronged. You did not violate your principles, nor did you lower your style."
After speaking, Walker hung up the phone.
Dana stood outside the door for two seconds and pushed her way in.
Walker looked at her for a moment then smiled.
"The date was over?" He asked.
"I suppose." She responded.
Dana knew he was referring to her and Hussey.
She was carrying a few insulated boxes in her hand. With a serious face, she uttered, "This is a meal made by Hussey herself. It's quite delicious. Would you like to have some?"
"I don't think that's a good idea." Walker responded.
Dana looked confused.
Walker looked at her and said, "I don't have the habit of eating other women's meals."
Dana was left speechless. She didn't know how to react.
"Then you have never eaten food prepared by your nanny nor restaurant chef since you were a kid."
Dana replied and she didn't even think about her response.
Suddenly, Walker's face turned serious and Dana was a little guilty. So she walked over and poked him.
"You have something to eat?" Dana asked.
"No need." Walker insisted.
"Eat some!" Dana squinted. Then she said, "I have eaten it, it's delicious! Besides, Hussey is my friend, not some other woman!"
Walker raised his eyes and looked at her for two seconds.
"Oh, Dana."
Suddenly calling her seriously, she was a little overwhelmed.
"Before, I heard that you were asking Hussey to prepare a press conference for you?"
"What?"
Dana was startled.
She had thought about holding a press conference when he just had an accident.
But then this matter ceased because she didn't know if she could fight Ann and Zoe Roosevelt on her own.
Not to mention, she also didn't want to drag Hussey because of her.
"I thought about it, but I didn't want to do it later on. So I didn't tell you anything about it." She admitted.
Walker Herbert quietly did not rush to refute.
He knows that Dana was sometimes kind and naive, and was a bit stupid and cute,
She didn't want to drag him down, so she wouldn't reveal it.
"Whether you want to hold a press conference or not, now there is a better chance to give you a whitewash."
Dana was taken aback, "What?"
Was it a wedding?
Was this road no longer feasible?
Walker looked at her quietly.
"Hannah Hartford is doing a show this Sunday, you go and participate." He said.
"What?" Dana was confused.
"Hannah Hartford?" She asked again.
Dana was a little overwhelmed.
She has heard of Hannah Hartford's show.
She herself was a high-achieving student who graduated from Harvard in the United States. She was a talented girl who integrates beauty and wisdom and was sought after by everyone in the circle.
Her program may not have as high ratings as some other variety shows nowadays, but her own influence, including the influence of her shows, was definitely ranked first in the industry.
In other words, if she was willing to help and have Dana on her show, then basically she has nothing to worry about.
But is she really willing to help her?
"She is willing to help me?" Dana looked in disbelief. Then she said, "Isn't she the least fond of falling into this kind of gossip dispute?"
Dana didn't see herself as a worthy person to be helped by Hannah Hartford.
"You don't have to worry about these." Walker said.
Then he added, "As long as you cooperate enough on Sunday, of course, everything is not a problem."
Sunday came and Dana was quite nervous.
She has never been on a TV show. If she was a child, she wouldn't worry about anything.
But as an adult, it was inevitable that stage fright will show up in public especially for the first time experiences.
Walker Herbert comforted her before she left.
"Don't be nervous. Although it's a live broadcast, Hannah Hartford will take care of all problems." He said and patted her shoulders.
But Dana still couldn't help being nervous and couldn't keep still.
She lifted her head and pursed her lips. Then she looked at him and said, "But you won't be there. I'm not at ease if you are not there. This is the first time I will be on the screen."
She expressed her true emotions. What she was actually feeling at that time.
"Just tell the truth. Okay?" Walker said.
Dana frowned and nodded.
"Just be honest and good things will follow." Walker added.
Then she realized that if she's going to be honest, there is a probability for her to shake out all the scandals of Ann.
"I will watch you on TV, there will be my people on the scene. Assistant Boyle will accompany you, though." Walker said.
In short, except that he was unable to be there in person due to his injury, he had already arranged all the deployments.
Dana just nodded.
At the TV station, it was actually Dana's first time to be there. She knows that a show by Hannah Hartford was more authoritative than 100 media outlets.
Moreover, she only had to face her alone during the recording, and she probably would not ask too many questions and make things difficult for her. Even the content of the question had been printed out and sent to her. So Dana thought of convincing herself to relax.
All of these were much simpler than the press conference planned at the beginning.
But Dana was still nervous.
At the backstage, Dana was doing makeup and styling.
Because of nervousness, it was inevitable that her face might look a little pale.
The makeup artist next to her kept praising her for how beautiful she was, and she didn't even listen.
A phone call came in at this moment,
"Hey?"
Dana didn't look at her phone screen, and she picked it up directly.
"Oh, Dana."
As soon as the voice came out, Dana's face changed.
She had a pale face, now it was even more pale. Her facial expression suddenly changed and her body turned so cold.
Zoe Roosevelt called Dana. She had never had much patience.
"I heard you are going on Hannah Hartford's show?" She asked.
"How did you know?" Dana asked coldly.
"Mom asked me to call to remind you." Zoe responded and meant something else.
Zoe Roosevelt warned her on the other end. Her voice was confident, assertive and contemptuous.
"What to say and what not to say, you know in your heart. Otherwise, your Dad in prison..." Zoe didn't finish her sentence.
Dana knew how easy it was for them to kill a person in prison.
The second half of the sentence did not come out, but Dana already felt the biting coldness.
Dana's back was suddenly icy from the cold feeling of anger over Zoe.
Her hands on the armrest of the chair were tightly clenched, her nails stuck in the flesh, and she wanted to pinch to bleed.
Her knuckles all appeared bluish and white.
"Zoe Roosevelt, what do you mean?" Dana's lips couldn't stop shaking because of the extreme anger.
"Literally, don't you understand?"
Zoe Roosevelt smiled coldly, "You, Dana, you are an illegitimate daughter. Your mother ruined our family. Now you ruined the marriage of Walker Herbert and Manny Brown. You already know what to say later. You understand?"
"Zoe Roosevelt, that's your father!" Dana exclaimed.
She doesn't care about the lines.
Now, all her attention was on the sentence Zoe Roosevelt just said. She thought about her Dad in prison.
Dana couldn't swallow how evil Zoe could be.
Dawn Roosevelt drove her out of the house and refused to admit her as their relative for five years. She couldn't do it that way.
Zoe Roosevelt, a princess, daughter, and had jewels in her palm since she was a child.
Dad gave birth to her and raised her since she was a child. How could she be so ungrateful?
"It's okay that he is my dad, and that's good to me. But he is a corrupt official, after all, a man who cheats and is irresponsible to his family." Zoe exclaimed.
"That's the one who gave birth to you and raised you!" Dana trembled with anger.
There was silence on the phone for a few moments. There was tension on both sides.
Afterwards the laughter was cold and terrifying.
"But he was your father too, right?"
After that, Dana hung up the phone. Her face was pale.
It was like being splashed with a bucket of white paint, so desolate to horror.
She never thought about it.
Ann and Zoe Roosevelt would hate her to this point.
Because of hating her, Ann could never have a husband, and Zoe Roosevelt couldn't have a father.
Even taking Dawn Roosevelt's life to blackmail her.
Dana sat on the seat with her eyes closed. The makeup artist was still doing makeup on her, the stylist was doing her hair, and she herself was in unprecedented pain.
It was of course impossible for her to discredit herself in front of everyone.
But let her watch her father be tortured in prison, she couldn't do it anymore. She couldn't just watch and do nothing as other people manipulate her life.
Dana closed her eyes tightly, that even her makeup couldn't hide her listlessness.
At that moment, a figure suddenly appeared behind her.
"Miss Roosevelt."
