Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Anya's Point of View

"Mico? Oh god! It's you. What did they do to you?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled weakly.

"L-Luna, I'm h-happy to see you," he said and coughed.

"Mico, I'll take you out of here," I said and opened the cell. I'm glad I had the key I found from one of the rooms.

"Where's Marcus?" I told asked him while I helped him up.

"Luna, p-please leave me here," Mico weakly said. "Alpha w-was in the last cell in this place," he added. I nodded and helped her sat on the ground.

"I'll come back for you, Mico," I said.

"Please be s-safe, L-Luna," he said while clutching his stomach. I wiped away my tears and continued walking. Finally, I reached the cell where Mico pointed and was horrified when I saw what's inside.

"M-Marcus?" I call him weakly. My heart clenched at the sight of him. He was chained to the wall, had many wounds on his body, and blood was all over him. His eyes were half-closed like he wasn't breathing.

"Baby, w-wake up," I called softly. He moved and slowly raised his head.

"A-Anya?" he asked weakly; I smiled at him and nodded.

"W-what are you doing h-here?" he asked. "Y-You should n-not have come back. You'll be in d-danger!" he added as he struggled to break the chain.

"I asked for help with the pack I was staying in. I will save you, Marcus. You still have a lot to explain to me," I told him while crying. I took the keys in my pocket and opened Marcus's cell. I also removed the chain from him. I helped him stand up, and we walked out of the cell together.

"I'm s-sorry," he said softly.

"Save it, Marcus. We'll talk later," I told him. I went back to Mico in his cell, but I was late. Mico is already gone. He is dead, and his neck was snapped. I averted my eyes and cried. If only I had been so early, I would have saved him.

"Hush, b-baby. It's n-not your f-fault," Marcus said. I supported Marcus again, and we walked straight ahead to where the entrance was.

"And where are you going?" Damien said while holding a spiked bat in his hand behind our back. Marcus and I stopped.

"U-Use the entrance where you entered, A-Anya," Marcus seriously said. "Z-Zakir is not here. I will take him on. R-Run, Anya. Go!" Marcus said and gently pushed me. I shook my head.

"No! You will come with me! We will go out together! I will not leave you here!" I cried.

"Go Anya, please!" he begged, and he pressed his forehead to mine. He was crying; Marcus was crying.

"Oh, come on," Damien said.

"Go!" Marcus shouted. I ran to the room where the little entrance was located.

"I won't let you escape!" Damien shouted angrily. I turned my head to where they were and gasped.

"MARCUS!" I shouted. I saw Damien stabbed him. He tackled Damien on the ground and fights him aggressively. Their fight lasts for how many minutes, but they both laid on the floor, unmoving. I ran back to where he was and put his head on my lap.

"NO! NO! NO BABY! PLEASE STAY WITH ME!" I yelled while shaking his body. "Marcus, don't close your eyes! Baby, please. We need you. I need the father of my child!" I cried.

"A-a-n-ya..."

"N-No!" I stopped him. "Don't talk anymore! I will ask for help; they will come here. Please don't close your eyes," I said while sobbing loudly.

"I w-want you to know…t-that I love y-you…very much," he said while he struggled to breathe.

"M-Marcus? Hey! I told you s-stay awake, right? Don't j-joke around!" I said while gently slapped his face, but he did not respond anymore.

"Condolences, Luna," Candice and Blake both said. I looked at them and smiled sadly. Our packhouse was full. All the pack members went; they all sympathized and mourned for his death. We are grieving for our loss, and until now, I still blame myself for what happened. It's my fault that he is dead. I wiped the tears from my cheeks.

"Condolences, Anya," Alpha Allan said. He sat down next to me.

"Condolences, Anya," Brent said and sat down next to Allan. I smiled at them and mouthed 'Thank you'.

"We've locked her up," Alpha Allan suddenly said next to me. I did not speak. After the fight that happened, Zakir was nowhere to be found. They last saw him providing aid to the rogues, but I heard he vanished when Damien died. The remaining rogues fled while the wounded pack members were taken back to Allan's home.

Alpha Allan already reported the matter to high mages, and I heard Zakir was a wanted criminal. He had been long out of the coven and was wandering around when he saw Damien. The high mage said what he did to Damien was resurrect him from death. It was forbidden, and now they were looking for him everywhere. They believed he's been weakened because of what he did. We also found out the one who sold the information from one of the rogues. I can't believe what Alpha Allan told me. The next day, I witnessed firsthand from her that she was the traitor. With her gentle face, with the kindness she showed me, with everything she had done. I can't believe she's acting; she deceived us. Lilac deceived us.
