Chapter 96: Chapter 96

I was crying and waiting for death to knock at my door, but I heard Steven instead, he was trying to break in and was coughing as well.

"You stay here and I will kill her," Lauren shouted out of desperation, she was hating the fact that so many people were in love with me, that everyone cared about me. Her threat made Steven stop trying, but I knew he came up with a different plan instead.

"Your mother was just like you, always grabbing attention." She sat down, waiting for death.

"Did you kill them?" I asked through stutters and fear.

"Oh no, they died of an accident," she shook her head and tried to hide her smile, "it was all their doing, their fault that they didn't check the brakes first." She planned their murder, she did it.

"You f**** bit***" I yelled, her eyes wide open in anger, but before she could do something, the window broke like someone was trying to break the woods from outside and it caught our attention.

"I told you---," She turned her back towards the window, but that's when the door broke and Steven got in, the smoke at this point has made it hard for us to look clearly.

"You okay?" he rushed inside and hugged me.

"Guess you are too desperate to die." She muttered and aimed at Steven but that's when Tucker jumped in from the window, "Son!"' she gasped but it was too late. He held her hand in order to get the gun out of her hands.

"You take them out," Tucker yelled at Steven, who nodded and quickly reached for Bailey to untie her.

"I am not leaving without you,"  I said to Tucker, who had to keep one eye on Lauren, who was still not letting go off the gun.

"Go please," He looked me in the eye and I saw the sadness in them.

"Let's go," Steven mumbled, holding my arm and helping Bailey to exit the room.

"We can't leave him." I glared at Steven, who watched Tucker's face.

"Trust me, please go." Tucker blinked very peacefully and smiled weakly. "Trust me this time," he added and I quit arguing.

Steven held my hand and dragged me out of the room, the whole place was already in flames now.

"The firefighters have to be here now," Steven coughed and looked around, everything was on fire and my heart was beating loudly. I wonder if she lied about the gasoline tank.

"Dina and Sid are safe, Bailey stay close." Steven was holding my hand in his one hand and Bailey's in another. The staircase was literally in flames and without them, we were not able to walk downstairs. I slowly got my hand free from Steven's touch and he too noticed, but didn't utter a word.

"Here!" he waved his hand at the firefighters and the rest was just too blurry, they helped us get down and exit the house.

The cops have arrived too, the rain has stopped, but the strong wind was making things worse. I looked at the house catching on fire and couldn't help but to cry for Tucker.

"He is inside," I yelled, I know they were trying their best, but ---, we all heard the gun being fired.

"Tucker!" I yelled and ran in the direction of the house, but Steven held me tightly in his grip. "Don't touch me." I pushed him away and looked at the house, I can see someone coming out with the firefighters, it was Tucker. Running insanely in his way, I landed in his arms.

"I am fine I am fine." He reassured the approaching cops and doctors that had arrived with the ambulance.

"You scared me." I slapped his chest and he smiled, but there was sadness on his face.

"Lauren?" I asked and the house burst into flames, guess the gasoline she has prepared for us finally met the fire.

"Who was shot?" I asked and he lowered his head. "It's not your fault," I stated and hugged him again.

"You are fine right?" he inquired, checking me to make sure I was really okay.

"I am fine." I smiled and finally was able to look around. I saw Steven standing beside Sid and Dina, the doctors were checking Sid's blood pressure, out of all of us, he was the most scared one.

Tucker and I approached them, we still had to give the cop's statements and Dina's father looked concerned for his daughter.

"I am so sorry my mother played with everyone's life." Tucker apologizes, they all give him a satisfactory smile while Steven looked away with his hands in his pockets and his eyes not watching us.

"She admitted," I announced and felt hard to breathe.

"What?" Bailey questioned, I felt eyes on me.

"She was responsible for my parent's death." I declared and broke in tears, I saw Steven approaching me to comfort me but Tucker has been standing close, hugged me immediately.

"She was a snake," Dina muttered angrily.

"She just wanted to ruin people's lives," Bailey added.

"I thought she was going to ra** me after drugging me." That was Sid obviously. Dina eyed him to shut up and he gulped, stealing eyes from us.

"She met her fate." Tucker announced, "and it wasn't even hard to see her in flames." he added, which was weird, but for the guy who has faced so worst because of his mother, the words would never be enough.

"Back to our normal lives." Dina smiled finally and we all did the same except for Steven, he was standing with us like he didn't belong with us.

"Why are you kids always in trouble?" The sheriff joined his hands on his hips. Dina got up and hugged him. "Don't kill your father like that," he complained to her.

"My mother planned it all." Tucker approached the Sheriff and admitted.

"Are you giving a statement?" The sheriff asked, it was obviously hard for everyone to believe Lauren was capable of so many wrong things.

"Yes, I am." He nodded.

"She admitted to messing with my parent's car too," I stated and the Sheriff shook his head, it came as a shock for him too.
