Chapter 94: Chapter 94
"Did you call Sid?" I asked Dina after getting in her car. She nodded and looked at me.
"Is it okay to be nervous?" she questioned, her hands shaking on the steering.
"I'm pretty scared myself," I admitted and tied the belt. We were headed towards the house, the house where I've spent my whole childhood, learned to love and hate too. Everything ends tonight and I will finally know if Lauren has anything to do with my parent's death.
"Is Bailey on her way?" She questioned and I nodded before answering.
"Yeah, she left before me," I replied and Dina started the engine.
"I know you wouldn't wanna talk about it, but Steven did it to prevent you from pain. Ivory and Lauren played him as well," she mumbled,
"I kissed Tucker!" she halted the engine with shock, "Steven saw us," I said and looked straight. She remained silent and then began to drive again. I wanted her to know that it was over and talking about it, it was only going to make things worse.
We reached the house and my heart started to beat like a drum. Tucker was standing outside waiting for us and Sid too arrived a minute after us.
"Let's get inside," Tucker whispered and we all walked together. Entering the house was the hardest part, my skin felt goosebumps when I looked around. I have spent so many years in a lie and now I was back only to investigate more.
"Oh, um, you al---," Lauren, who didn't expect us to visit her before Sunday, stammered as she watched us all one by one.
"Mother, we will be here, watching movies," Tucker announced and we all gave her a wide smile. I can tell that our smile crept her out. I noticed the windows being shut closed with planks.
"She is paranoid," Tucker whispered.
"But you guys planned to be here on Sunday!" the words left her mouth almost too quickly for her to take them back.
"But how do you know that mom?" Tucker, who has recently found out that his mother has never loved him, muttered but calmed himself quickly and smiled.
"I---Ivory told me." She stammered and hesitated to look at my face, it appeared as we have ruined her plans.
"Have a seat you all." She quickly regained her fake sweet posture and smiled. We took the seats and looked around.
"So what movie are you guys watching?" she held her hands together before her body and asked.
"Suicide Squad" Tucker mumbled and at the same time, I shouted, "Isn't it romantic!" while Dina said, "Bird Box" well you have no idea what Sid yelled, "My Sexy Secretary" which I am guessing was a porn movie.
We all glared at Sid, who held his hands over his mouth and hid behind us.
"Suicide Squad!" we quickly said again, she nodded like she has caught us and smiled.
"I will bring you cold drinks." She stated and my skin felt goosebumps.
"No! no thanks." We all shivered at the thought of her drugging us. Weird how Lauren and I were acting as if we were strangers.
"Why? Tucker will help me." she smiled again, "Come on, you can trust Tucker." She has this weird smile on her face that was creeping me out. She knew we were suspecting her of drugging us.
"Yeah, that will be fine." Tucker got up and rushed to the kitchen after his mother.
"What do we do now?" Dina turned towards me in haste, "we can't drink it," she added.
"She did it to turn Tucker against us, if we didn't drink it Tucker will suspect us." I murmured and rubbed my forehead.
"Where is Bailey?" Sid asked in the middle of our conversation and I looked at Dina in confusion.
"She left before us, why isn't she here yet?" I asked myself, but a little too loud to be heard by them as well.
"Then where did she go?" Sid questioned and we all looked at each other with no clue.
"There you go!" Tucker approached us and handed us the drinks, that we all just looked at for the next two minutes.
"What is wrong?" Lauren came out of the kitchen, Tucker sat with me and looked at us and then at his mother, "You guys don't trust Tucker?" she asked and Tucker quickly looked at my face, like waiting for me to respond. The problem here was that Tucker wanted to be on our side, but he was easily manipulated by his mother.
"Of course we all do, why wouldn't we?" I shivered and smiled hysterically. "There is nothing suspicious about these drinks." I laughed and when followed Lauren's stare, she was watching Sid, who had his one eye almost drowning in the glass. We were watching the drink with his one eye closed.
"Sid!" I yelled, getting his attention.
"If you guys trust him, drink it." She insisted again, she was still manipulating Tucker's mind and it was not going well for us.
"I poured it," Tucker reassured us, but I refused to drink it, my heartbeat was accelerating in my chest and my body shaking beyond my control.
"Oh! I thought my son has finally found some friends who trust him." She faked a sad face and clicked her tongue. Tucker veered at me and watched my face, his eyes were asking me to prove it to his mother that I believe him.
"Giselle!" Tucker watched my face with disbelief, I didn't look in his eyes, I was not sure if I trust him or not, but I definitely wasn't going to trust Lauren, she could drug us through the glass, or what if the bottled he poured from having drugs?
"I--," I gulped and put the glass down, Lauren had a smile of triumph on her face when Tucker stepped back and got up. His eyes were watching me with sadness.
"I will go wash the utensils." She smiled in victory and left us in the lounge.
"Really Giselle?" Tucker mumbled and picked the glass from the table.
"Tucker Don't," I warned, but his eyes were looking straight into mine. He gulped it down and placed the glass down, looking at my face.
"There was nothing in it, at least you should have trusted me," he added, Sid and Dina sighed and Sid gulped it down too.
"You don't trust me?" Tucker questioned, looking through my eyes and the thunderstruck shook us all.
