Chapter 71: Chapter 71
I was packing my stuff and that's when I received a call from Lauren. I badly jumped at the ringtone, it wasn't because of anything but the fact that she pretty much wanted me to get Ra**** by her son.
"Who is it?" Steven, who was lying in my bed like it was his personal garden with both of his arms spread, lifted his face and asked.
There was something about him that can even turn the broken lamp on.
"Aunt Lauren!" I sighed and waited for the call to go off.
"Hmm, I'm still thinking about that bad fight." he smacked his lips and rested his head back.
"I'm done." I zipped the bag and glanced at the room one last time. I have spent my whole childhood in this room, it was sad how I was leaving it in a rush.
"Stop doing that, there is not even much to watch and remember." he got up and scratched his stomach, pulling up his nose as he glanced at my room.
"I was gonna slap you." I rolled my eyes and began walking in the direction of the window. He ran ahead and grabbed the bags out of my hands.
I halted, thinking for a moment.
"What, changing your mind?" he didn't turn instantly, but when he did, I was taken off the bracelet that Tucker had gifted me.
"We are done forever," I whispered in my mouth and turned around to walk out of the window. Steven stayed behind, looking at the bracelet, yep, he got the idea.
He made me climb down easily and I was still scared of getting caught by either Tucker or Uncle Ben. I started walking down the road with Steven and was spotted by Dina and Sid standing afar. Just the sight of her made me comfortable, I ran quickly and hugged her. Obviously, Steven has texted has updated her about the whole situation, she hugged me back and rubbed my back.
"That guy is dead," Sid muttered and gritted his teeth. I was so wrong for not realizing these people were my real friends, they really cared for me.
"She is coming with me." Dina insisted, holding my hand tightly.
"Your father is a friend of Mr. Ben, I think he will agree with Mr. Ben for giving them a chance," Sid mumbled, not really looking at her face as she was glaring him to death. "And my adoptive father is some guy who lives with his family, while I live in the orphanage." he tried to make sense out of it, but honestly it was a weird method they had come up with two months ago.
"She will stay with me," Steven announced and both of Sid and Dina watched his face in shock. "What, why you guys watching my face like I don't have a home?" one can tell that he knew why they were watching him but he was kinda pissed about the reason.
"That wicked witch, your so-called stepie lives there too." Sid, lowering his head, hiding his face from Steven behind Dina, murmured into his mouth.
"What can she do? She can't do anything, Giselle is nineteen and so am I." Steven shrugged his shoulders, he didn't like being in control of his stepmother or to change his plans because of her.
"He is right; I will be safe with him." Before they could question him again, I jumped in. This guy has done a lot for me and even excluding out his nice actions, his good deeds, I felt like it was more about how I feel about him now. His pain had started to hurt me; his tears would burn my eyes.
"Well, if she says so." Dina's lips formed a naughty smile as she looked at me and Steven. Steven really liked it, the way he watched my face filled my heart with happiness.
"Then let's go." He mumbled, putting my bags in his car,
"Hey Steven, you two should go. We have some errands to run." Dina nervously pointed at Sid, who had a smirk on his face, and stepped back.
"Yeah, go and make out." Steven being a savage, he murmured casually, making Dina's jaw to drop in embarrassment. "What? You guys need something?" Steven, after putting my stuff, looked at them and shrugged. They left in Sid's car while Steven drove me to the nearby cafe to buy me some food first.
In the meanwhile, I have left some texts to Uncle Ben, letting him know that I will be staying with a friend, which was going to shock Lauren as I didn't exit through the front door and once she opens the door to my room, she was gonna freak out at my missing stuff, but I wanted to stall as long as I could.
We reached his mansion and he asked the servants to help place my bags in his room, he didn't wanna risk so he thought keeping me before his eyes would be nice. I was standing in the huge lounge with antiques and giant frames when a lady in a silk gown walked downstairs in grace.
"Oh Stev--," she halted, watching me and a frown appeared on her face, "who is she?" it felt like she knew me but she thought it would be an insult to acknowledge me.
"That's my girlfriend, she is moving in with me." Steven, who has never sounded this cold, declared with hesitation. It wasn't the strange part, the way Mrs. Lock's mouth hung open shocked me more. She kept staring at Steven like her stare would make him change his statement.
"Babe I'm tired." I don't know what got into me, but I jumped right in the character. Steven veered his neck my way and smiled, it was more of a smile of pleasure.
"Let's go, lemme show you our room." he sweetly mumbled, rubbing my back, ah that touch. I smiled back at him and then we both looked straight, okay she looked officially dead. Steven held my hand and we both walked to his room, Mrs. Lock was so shocked that she hadn't moved an inch after that.
Once the door was locked, we both stared at each other and then burst out laughing madly.
"Why is she so cringy?" I stated, looking at his room. It was weird how my life has changed so much in a few weeks, I have grown this self-esteem, which was something I thought I was never going to have, then all these people around me, who weren't faking anything, and then this person, Steven, I have grown strong feelings for him.
I did a full turn, looking at his room, and stopped facing him, he was leaning back on the wall with his arms crossed, watching me with a smile on his face.
"What happened?" I asked, he lowered his head and shook it as he smiled.
"You really don't remember me?" he questioned, raising his face and looking me in the eye. What does that mean?
"What do you mean?" I asked, watching him from head to toe in suspicion.
"Tucker and I used to bully you." He looked down in guilt, but then he raised his eyes with a naughty smile on, squeezing his one eye closed in fear that I would yell at him.
