Chapter 34: Chapter 34
The next day, I woke up early and I was getting ready for school when Sean walked in with a tray of foods. He didn't look pleased.
"Where are you going?", he frowned putting the tray on the bedside table.
"School?", I said in duh tone.
"You can't go to school", he exclaimed and i turned around facing him.
"And why not?", I felt my anger risen.
"Isn't it obvious? You're not fully recovered", he replied, trying his best not to lash out on me.
"I'm perfectly fine. I've already missed my lessons and if I didn't show up this time, I'd totally be kicked out", I said grabbing my backpack and headed downstairs. Sean footsteps following me behind.
I walked to the kitchen and was disappointed when I didn't found Mrs. Rhodes. I helped myself with the toast and put some strawberry jam on it before taking a bite.
Sean was already in the room watching every move I made. I refused making eye contact with him. After finished with my breakfast, I was about to leave when Hunter, Jack, and another guy I didn't know show up in the kitchen. Sean didn't looked fazed by their appearances.
"Valerie, meet Andy. He'll join you, Hunter and Jack to school", Sean said.
"What?", I must heard him wrong.
"Like I said.. "
"I know what you said but why?", I raised my voice.
Sean didn't seem to appreciate my sudden outburst. "Leave us", he said without breaking eye contact with me.
The three of them scurried away like they were told, leaving me and the boss alone.
Once they were gone, Sean got on his feet and walked towards me slowly like a lion ready to catch its prey. His eyes were dark and at that moment, I felt scared.
I didn't realize I was stepping backwards until my back hit against the wall and him hovering me making me feel smaller than I already was.
He raised his hand, and I quickly moved my head away ready for the outcome but there was nothing. I looked up and his eyes showing hurt.
"You think I'm gonna hit you?", he said in sad tone. I didn't say anything but stared blankly at him.
"I'd never ever hurt you Valerie", he stated as he caressed my cheek.
"Why?", I muttered.
"What?", he asked confused.
"Why do you add another guy? Are two guys following me around not enough for you?", I raised my voice a little.
"Trust me Valerie, I don't like this either", his voice was low.
"Then why?", I sounded annoying right now.
He took a deep breathe and pinched the bridge of his nose."Do you have any idea what I've been through when I found out you were missing?", his voice started to raise.
"I thought you were fucking taken but instead, you went running to your friend without telling Hunter or Jack. You didn't even try to call me", his eyes fixed to mine.
"But I.. "
"I don't ask you to talk", he cut me off and this instantly making me shut up. My eyes started to water but he didn't stop.
"I had to fly back here and prayed that you were safe and that son of a bitch didn't touch you. I can't go through that anymore, Valerie. I can't",he said rubbing a hand on his face.
"Please listen to me for once. I don't want to lose you", he sounded almost cried. "I love you"
He didn't wait for my reply and made his way upstairs leaving me alone in the kitchen. My tears were flowing now and I quickly wiped them away.

Hunter pulled away in front of my school building. The whole ride were filled with silence. Even Jack wasn't talkative like usual. He just sat quietly at the front seat while the Andy guy sat with me at the back, also quiet and kept his gaze to the windows.
I quickly got out of there because I couldn't stand the awkwardness any longer. I strolled to my class and took a seat at the second row like usual.
At the corner of my eyes, I caught Liam sitting with his friends chatting and when he saw me, he quickly turned his gaze away.
I sadly turned my attention back to the front and waited for the lesson to start.
I just got informed that my next class had been cancelled so I was already free to go. But since I wasn't in the mood to go back to Sean's place early, I decided going to the library to 'hide'. Also, I had homework to finish so it'd be a good place to go.
I entered the library and found it almost empty. I sat at an empty table and got my books out of my bag and started doing my work.
10 minutes passed and I managed to finish half of my homework when there was a guy sitting in front of me with a book in his hand and earbuds plugging his ears.
I ignored him and continued my work but I couldn't even concentrate because the music from his earbuds were blaring too loud that I could hear it. Hell, probably the whole library could hear it, note my sarcasm.
I put my pen down and crossed my arms glaring at the guy, hoping that he'd noticed but no, his gaze was glued to his book and he swayed his head back and forth following the music.
How could he managed to read and listening to loud music at the same time?
I decided to tell him myself. I raised my hand and waved in front of his face making him snapped from the book. Great. Now you notice me.
He unplugged one of his earbud. "Sorry, what?", his voice was too loud that I heard someone shushing. He muttered 'sorry' to whoever it was and turned his attention to me.
"Could you turn down the music a little? I couldn't finish my work here if you're blaring the music like that", I said in nicely tone as possible.
"Oh, you could hear that? I'm so sorry", he said apologetically.
"It's alright", I smiled and turned to my work when he spoke again.
"I'm Tyler", he said offering his hand to shake.
"Valerie", I shook his hand.
"Cool name", he grinned and I chuckled.
"Not to be rude but how can you read and blaring loud music at the same time?", I asked.
He chuckled. "I know I've been told so many times. Just habit I guess. Also, I left my keys at the dorm that I can't get inside. My roommate wouldn't be back until later, so.. yeah I have nowhere else to go"
"So, what's your excuse?", he asked.
"Just some peace to finish my homework", I said.
"Oh. Do you want me to leave then?", he asked worried.
"No, it's alright", I quickly said. "I could use some company", I smiled.
"Glad to hear that. Otherwise, I'd end up sitting in front my dorm until my roommate got back", he chuckled and I couldn't help but laughed as well.
Then it was silence and it was getting awkward so I decided to make conversation. "So, I never really see you around here", I finally spoke.
"Well, it's because I just got transferred here around a month ago", he said scratching his neck.
"Oh. Where are you from?", I asked.
"I'm from New York and my dad got a promotion here so, since my parents don't really like us being seperated, we all kind of move in here as well", he explained and I nodded.
"I live in the dorm but on weekends I'd be in my parents' house. I'm always the mama's boy so she'll always be the one who gets anxious if she didn't see me", he chuckled.
Usually boys would be so embarrassed when he was the mama's boy but not this guy. I guess he really loved her mom.
I was about to reply when my phone vibrated loudly. I flashed Tyler an apologetic smile before answering.
"Hello?", I muttered slowly since I was in the library.
"Valerie? Where are you? We'd been waiting here for 30 minutes and we couldn't find you", Hunter's voice filled my ear in worry.
I glanced at my watch and it was past my previous class. "I'm sorry. I'll bet out now, OK?", I said as I put my books in my bag.
"Where are you?", Hunter asked.
"I'll be there at the car. I'm going out now", I said before hanging up the phone and turned to Tyler who was listening the whole time.
"Sorry, I gotta go. See you around?", I said apologetically.
"Sure. No problem", he waved bye and I quickly got out of the library and walked to the front gate where the car was this morning.
Hunter, Jack, and Andy was already there leaning against the car and people eyed them curiously. Some of them looked afraid to look at them and quickly walked passed them.
They both turned their attention to me when I walked closer to the car. Without another word, I opened the back seat door and shut them closed. They followed my action and Hunter drove away from the school.
No one talked and it started to get me crazy. Not even the radio sound. I huffed and took out my earbuds. I plugged into my phone and let my head rest against the window as I listened to my songs.
//
Days passed and I almost went crazy with my 'bodyguards'. Since Sean found out that I was hiding in the library that day, the next day I found Jack already standing in front of my class after I finished the lesson. I couldn't go anywhere, not even the toilet alone.
I didn't talk to Sean after that and he didn't even try to make conversation either so we both gave each other the silent treatment.
It went on for almost a week and one time, he finally gave up and talked to me.
"Baby, talk to me", he said softly. I was doing my homework with my back facing him. He sighed when I didn't respond.
"I'm sorry, Valerie. I know you're mad at me but please, talk to me", his voice was desperate. "I miss you", he breathed through my neck and it sent shiver down may spine.
He seemed to notice this then trailed a kiss at the side of my neck. Kissing, biting which made me stop writing and I couldn't help but let out a soft moan.
I couldn't hold it anymore so I turned facing him and caught his lips against mine. He kissed me hungrily and put his hands under my butt then lifted me up which earned a squeal from me.
I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist and my hands around his neck pulling him closer. We were still making out until we heard a shriek making us pulled away.
"Seriously guys? In the kitchen?", Georgina blurted out.
"What the hell are you doing here?", Sean snapped and I hit his chest.
"Oh, I don't know. I was about to get a drink in the fucking kitchen and I saw two bunnies eating their faces off", she said sarcastically making my cheeks red.
Sean let out a huff, his hands were still wrapped protectively around me.
"Oh, I almost forgot", Georgina suddenly said when she was about to walk out of the kitchen.
"What?", Sean said impatiently.
"I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to Valerie", she scowled and Sean rolled his eyes.
"Will you go shopping with me tonight? I need to find a dress for my friend's wedding next week", her eyes glowed when she said this.
"Sure", I said. I mean why not? It's been a long time since I had girl's night out. My social life was practicality ruined after I lost Dani as my friend.
"No", Sean piped in and I looked at him in disbelief.
"Come on, Sean. She'll be safe with me. Let the poor girl live a little, will you. Why can't you think about her happiness Instead of you own ego?", she exclaimed and Sean was quite after this.
He seemed to be thinking as he glanced at me.
"Fine", he finally gave in and I couldn't help my smile.
"But you both will be back in two hours. More than that, I'm coming for you and trust me,you don't want that", his voice was threatening but Georgina just shrugged It off.
"Alright, let's go then", Georgina took my hand and dragged me out of the house.
