Chapter 18: Chapter 18

"What're you doing here?", I said in a whisper.

He just stood there, saying nothing but staring at me intently. He slowly walked towards me and our body was close that I could feel his warmth and his cologne.

It felt like ages since I last saw him. He still looking good as usual making me stare at his muscular body. He seemed to check me out as well when his eyes eyed me from head to toe making me felt insecure.

I saw him frowned a little at my petite frame and I couldn't help but think that he must be disappointed at my appearance. I only wore black skinny jeans with a baggy sweater, not to mention that my hair was probably a mess with no makeup on.

His finger reached out to my cheek and caressed it slowly. I closed my eyes and realized how much I missed this. Then I felt his lips in my temple. My eyes widen, realized the effect that he had on me.

I couldn't do this. He wasn't good for me. He was a criminal for God's sake. When I pulled away from him, I could see the hurt in his eyes.

I cleared my throat before speaking. "What are you doing here?"

"I miss you", he whispered as he took another step towards me, and this time I didn't step back.

"I miss you too", I blurted without thinking making my eyes widen and I could see hope in his eyes.

"I want you back. When you broke up with me, it felt like you punched me right in the face. Hell, it felt like you ripped my heart open", he sighed. "These past few days have been hell for me"

"Me too", I whispered. "But I can't be with you. I mean you're...", I trailed.

"A criminal", he said darkly.

"I didn't mean that", I quickly said.

"I know you mean that and I won't blame you", he said.

"I am a criminal, Valerie. I kill people and do drug deals for life", he raised his voice.

"All my life, the only thing I know is how to survive. Kill or be killed. I didn't care about other people's feelings. My only focus was only me and my sister, Georgina and the others could just go to hell. But then I met you and I saw light. You taught me how to care and enjoy life, something that I never did"

"I know I'm a selfish man for wanting you but you change me in a way that I couldn't imagine", he put his palm on my cheek and I felt relaxed in his touch.

"I need you", his voice cracked. "Please give me a chance"

I wanted to pull away but his hands on me were like magic and I couldn't help but arched for his touch. There was a war inside my head. My mind told me to shove him away and walked inside the apartment but my body reacted differently.

"I'm here", I said closing the gap between us with a kiss and I felt fireworks. He kissed my lips hungrily and put a hand behind my neck to deepen the kiss

I was out of breath and was about to pull away but he didn't let me and kept his hold tight on my neck. I obliged and moaned between the kisses.

After the makeout session, he put his forehead against mine, caressing my cheek softly with his fingers. "Don't leave me", he whispered.

"I won't", I said staring into these brown eyes.

Our moment was ruined when my phone blew up making us both jumped in surprise. Sean chuckled when he saw me trying to find my phone in my bag.

I checked the ID before answered it. "Hello?"

"Where the hell are you? It's almost 11", Dani's voice filled my ears.

"I'm sorry. I fell asleep at Liam's place and I'm on my way home now", I lied.

"Geez, I thought something happened to you. Alright. I'll see you at home OK?", she sighed in relief.

"OK, bye", I hung up.

"Who's Liam?", Sean asked suddenly from behind.

"Liam? Oh, he's my best friend at school", I answered as I put my phone back in the bag.

"Best friend?", he raised his brows.

"Yes", I said putting my hands around his neck. He seemed uneasy with the information and I realized what was going on.

"I promise nothing is going on between us, Sean. Besides, he's more like a brother to me", I pecked his lips.

"Does he think that way too?", he asked.

"Yes. I'm one hundred percent sure I'm just his little sister", I laughed at his jealousy.

"Alright. But if he tries anything, let me know OK?", he said in a serious tone.

"Fine. Though I know he won't. Don't worry too much", I said.

"What are you doing?", he asked when I pulled away from him.

"Dani's waiting for me and also it's already late", I reminded him.

He groaned. "Fine. Can you give me a goodnight kiss?", he pursed his lips.

"You're such a baby", I chuckled but obliged him anyway.

I pecked his cheek and he looked at my disbelief.

"What? You said a kiss", I said innocently.

"I mean at here", he pointed his lips.

I laughed and kissed his lips. Before it got too heated up, I pulled away. "Goodnight, Sean"

"Sweet dreams", he smiled.

As usual, he stayed until I was in the building. I headed upstairs and when I got into the apartment, Dani was already standing there with her hands on her waist waiting for me.

"What?", I asked when her eyes were still on me.

"I saw you", she said.

"Saw me?", I asked confused.

"I saw you outside kissing a guy"

I was frozen and I looked anywhere but her. She realized my nervousness. "Well? Care to explain?"

"He's nobody", I lied.

"Nobody? So what, now you go kissing some guy?", she raised her voice.

"Since when do you care who I'm kissing?", I said walking past her to my room.

"I always care for you. And what's with your attitude?", she asked in annoyance.

"Look, I'm just stressed OK?", I said as I changed into my PJs.

"And kissing some stranger helps?", she said.

"He's not a stranger", I said putting my dirty clothes on their floor.

"So who is that?"

"Look, I'm tired and I have class tomorrow at 8. Can we talk about this later?", I yawned.

She looked unsure but she let it go anyway. "Fine. And don't you think this conversation is over", she said leaving my room.

I sighed in relief then climbed on my bed. My phone buzzed and checked it was Sean.

Sleep tight, baby girl

I put my phone away and I closed my eyes with the biggest smile on my face.

Sorry for the short chapter again. I've been busy studying for my final tests. I promise I'll try to update the story the best I can. Anyway thanks for reading this story
