Chapter 17: Chapter 17

"Hey, do you want to come to my place after class?", Liam asked. I had been spending a lot of time with Liam lately after everything with Sean.

"Yeah, sure. Why not", I smiled at him.

"Cool. I'll wait for you here until your class is done", he said.

"Liam, you can just wait for me in your place. I'll walk thereafter I finished", I said. I didn't want him sitting here waiting for me like an idiot.

"It's alright. I'll wait for you here and that's final", he said stubbornly.

"Fine. Don't blame me if you died of boredom", I surrendered.

"I'll take my chances", he winked and I rolled my eyes then walked to my class.

I was pretty sure he'd end up going back to the apartment himself because I had Mr. Fall for my next class and he always gave us a long lecture that we stuck in the class for 2 hours.

But boy I was wrong. When I finished my class, he was still there waiting for me and was talking to Giana, one of the campus sluts in our class. She flirted with him by playing her hair whenever she spoke another word to Liam but the funny thing was Liam didn't seem to be interested or noticed her intention.

"Hey, Val", Liam said when he noticed me approaching. The girl turned her attention to me and gave me a look of disgust but I ignored her.

"You're still here", I said.

"I told you I'd be here waiting", he chuckled then turned his attention to the chick. "I and Val will be going now. So, I'll see you later?"

"Yeah, sure", she said pressing the tone while giving me the death stare.

After she left, I laughed loudly making Liam looked at me confused. "What's so funny?"

"She was so ready to kill me", I hit his arm as we walked to his place.

"And why is that?", he furrowed his brows.

"Dude, she was flirting with you", I stated but he still looked confused.

"She was?"

"Of course she was. When I showed up, she looked like she wanted to rip me into pieces", I laughed.

"Well, I'm not interested", he said nonchalantly.

"Why not? She's hot", I asked confused.

"I'm just not interested", he said nervously.

"Don't tell me that you're gay?", I gasped in horror.

He rolled his eyes. "I'm not gay"

"It's ok if you are. I won't judge", I patted his shoulder playfully.

"I told you I'm not", he raised his voice taking me by surprise. And I kept quiet instantly because I knew he was mad and he rarely got mad.

We didn't talk after that even when we stopped for the red light. He just stood there crossing his arms and I felt bad for making him mad. After the light turned green, he just walked without looking in my direction so I just followed him behind like a lost puppy.

We were still a block away when suddenly I felt like someone was watching me. I turned around but I didn't see anything unusual. I kept looking around but all I saw was everyone walked in uther rush since it was rush hour.

"Val?", I heard Liam calling my name making me jumped.

"What are you looking for?", he said approaching me as he scanned our surroundings.

"Nothing", I answered. He seemed unsure but he just let it go.

"Come on", he said putting his hand against my back.

We still didn't talk even after we got to his place. He directly went to his room and closed the door behind him leaving me alone in his living room. I sighed loudly and took a seat on his couch, scolding myself for making him mad.

It'd been 10 minutes and he was still inside his room. Slowly, I felt my eyes getting heavy and decided to lie on the couch to take a quick nap.

"Val", I felt someone shaking my body. I opened my eyes and saw Liam looking at me amused.

"Dinner's ready. You don't mind if I ordered pizza?", he said. I nodded as I rubbed my eyes

I followed him to the kitchen and the smell of pizza making my stomach growled. Liam heard that and laughed making my face red in embarrassment.

He gave me a slice on the plate and I thanked him. I watched him took a large bite of his pizza and swallowed it.

"Why are you not eating?", he asked when he noticed I hadn't touched my food.

"I'm sorry", I muttered.

"Sorry for what?", he asked confused.

"I'm sorry for calling you gay", I said didn't dare to look into his eyes. "I was joking and I didn't mean any of it. Can you forgive me?"

There was a moment of silence but then he burst out laughing making me jumped in surprise. I looked at him and he was laughing, holding this stomach.

"Oh, God",  he wiped a tear from the corner of his eye. "Val, I'm not mad at you, OK? Why do you think I am?"

"Because you didn't talk to me after I said you are gay", I said.

"Val, I know you were just joking. I was just messing with you", he laughed and I was dumbfounded.

"You should look at your face", he laughed again and I pouted. "You're so mean"

"I'm sorry. But it's fun messing with you", he winked.

"Shut up", I said taking a bite of my pizza. "Do you know how bad I was when I thought you were mad at me?"

"I'm sorry OK? I promise I won't do that again", he said taking my hand and gave me his puppy dog face that he knew I couldn't resist.

"Ugh, fine", I groaned.

"Aw, I love you", he said in high pitched voice.

"Whatever", I mumbled and continue eating my pizza. "If you're not gay, then why you don't like Giana?", I asked curiously.

"I don't know. I just don't think about her that way", he shrugged.

"Come on, dude. It's time to get a girl for you. I'll be your wingman", I wiggled my brows.

"Wingman? Seriously?", he looked at me amused.

"Do I look like I'm kidding?", I narrowed my eyes.

"Thanks, but I don't need a wingman", he chuckled.

"I promise I'll be your best wingman you've ever had", I said.

"No, thanks", he said.

"You're lost then", I said, didn't want to pressure him.

After we finished dinner, I helped him doing the dishes then went to the living room to watch some movies. I rest my head on his shoulder something that I always did if we watched movies together.

"Getting cozy aren't we?", someone said behind us making me and Liam jumped and hit our heads. I rubbed my head as the other person laughed.

"Julian, what the hell", Liam threw him a pillow but he easily dodged it. Julias was Liam's cousin and he worked as an engineer.

"It's not my fault that you're being lovey-dovey", Julian said throwing the pillow back to Liam who was burning red.

"We're not dating", Liam groaned.

"Whatever you say, lover boy", Julian sang then disappeared to his room.

There was an awkward silence between us and I decided to break it.

"Uhm, it's late and I should go home", I said picking up my bag.

"Yeah, you're right", scratched his neck. "Sorry about that"

"No worries. I'll see you tomorrow", I said heading toward the door.

I looked at my watch and didn't realize that it was almost 9. I was staying longer than I thought. I walked faster back to the apartment because I hated to walk alone to this hour.

As I walked, I always felt like someone was watching me. It was similar when I walked together with Liam to his place. But it was still daytime so I wasn't that worried but now it was already dark. Suddenly I remembered the last time I walked home late and the event when Sean saved me making me shivered.

I sighed in relief when I saw the apartment building and decided to walk faster. But then I felt someone walking behind me. I could hear his shoes hitting against the street.

My heart beat faster and tried to walk as fast as I could. When I felt he got nearer, I began to run and he was too. I felt him grabbing my arm and I was about to let out a scream but he covered my mouth with his hand.

I tried to get away from him but then he turned me around making me facing him and I widened my eyes in shock.
