Chapter 15: Chapter 15
"I'm part of the most dangerous and powerful gang in America and I'm the leader", Sean said. I just stood there didn't know what to react. It was like I was frozen and unable to move.
"Please say something", Sean said meeting my eyes.
"Do you kill people?", I whispered finally had the courage to speak.
He sighed heavily before answering. "Yes, but only the ones who cross me", he admitted.
"So everything Liam told me is true", I scoffed. "I can't believe that I trust you", I muttered quietly but he heard it.
"You still can trust me, Valerie. My feelings for you are real. Please give me a chance", he pleaded.
"How can I know that you're not playing me? You just lied to me about who you are and you kill people for a living. I don't think I can trust you anymore", I said angrily.
"Please, Valerie. I'm not lying to you. I know that my job is not something that I'm proud of but this is part of who I am. And I need you. Please", he took a grasp of my hand.
"Please give me a chance. Let me show you how much you mean to me", he caressed my cheek softly sending chills to my skin.
I wanted to trust him but my mind just told me to stay away. He was dangerous for God's sake and not to mention being in a relationship with a guy like him would drag me into his dangerous world.
"I-I can't. I'm sorry", I said holding my tears back, and went inside the apartment, leaving him standing there. I didn't dare to turn back to look at him, knowing that I had hurt him. Inside I regretted what I said but it was for the best.
"You have a lot of explaining, young lady", Dani said as she walked towards me angrily.
"Hello to you too", I said taking off my coat and threw it on the couch.
"You know, there was a guy who suddenly appeared on the doorstep looking for you and he claims to be your boyfriend", Dani said as I went to the kitchen to pour myself some drink.
"Well? Care to explain?", she said impatiently when I didn't respond.
"Yes, Dani. He's my boyfriend. Sorry, I mean was", I said drinking the rest of my water.
"I'm sorry to hear that but the real question is why the hell didn't you tell me?", she said upset.
"Well, I'm sorry I didn't know that I have to always tell you everything about my matters", I snapped.
"Excuse me?", she looked surprised by my sudden outburst.
"You know what? I'm tired and I need some sleep. Good night, Dani", I said leaving the kitchen and she just scoffed in disbelief.
I got changed into my PJs and threw myself on the bed with a loud thud. My phone buzzed and I looked at the caller ID to find that Sean was calling me. I pressed ignore than my phone went silent. But then my phone buzzed again making me annoyed. I decided to turn off my phone then went to sleep.
I barely slept that night. I kept thinking about Sean and if I made the right decision. He never tried anything to hurt me before. Instead, all he showed me was love and affection. Suddenly I had this urge to call him, but then I had my second thought. No, I had to stay away from him. He was dangerous and not to mention a killer. I shook away all the thoughts about him then went to sleep.

Sean POV
I went home that night furious. She couldn't just break up with me. Did she have any idea what effect she had on me? I couldn't let her go. I needed her.
I got to my house and saw Georgina on the couch watching TV. I didn't bother to greet her. I needed some time alone.
"Hey, you're home. Want to watch a movie with me?", she asked eating the popcorn.
"Georgie, I'm not in the mood right now, OK?", I snapped. Her eyes widen in surprise. I never snapped at her like that.
"What's going on? Do you want to talk about it?", she stood up walking towards me.
"I said I'm not in the mood OK? So fuck off, will you?", I shouted making her flinch but I was too mad to care.
I made my way to my room, slamming the door shut making the window shivered. I threw everything I saw in front of me making my room chaotic.
"Hey, hey man what the hell is going on here?", Larry suddenly barged into my room then looked at my room in total shock.
"What are you doing here? Get out", I growled.
"Sean-",
"If you don't get your ass out of here right now, I'm going to kill you", I threatened but he just stood there crossing his arm.
I sighed then went to my bathroom. I slammed the door again then decided to have a long shower. When the hot water touched my skin, I felt relax a bit. I stood in the pouring water, thinking about her. I wouldn't give up on her. Not yet. She might not want me anymore and thought that we were a mistake, but we weren't. She changed me the way she couldn't imagine.
Before her, I was a cold-hearted gang leader who had no purpose in life. I was focused on money, power, and meaningless sex with different girls to let off my steam. But now that I met her, I didn't want those anymore. I just wanted her in my arms. She was my home.
I turned off the shower and went back to my room to change. When I walked back to my room, Larry was still there, sitting on my bed.
"Finally, took you long enough", he stood up. I didn't respond and just walked past him to my closet.
"So do you want to talk about it?", he asked but I still didn't respond and changed into my boxer, sweatpants, and T-shirt.
He sighed. "Fine. I won't leave until you tell me why you're being an ass. And by the way, Georgie is crying in her room right now, thanks to you. I hope you realize what a shitty brother you are", he lectured.
I gave him a death glare but he just shrugged, don't feel bad at all about what he said just now. He was lucky that he was my best friend otherwise I'd put a bullet to his brain.
"Sean", he called me but I still didn't answer him.
"Sean! Sean! Sean!". He started to shout making my ears hurt.
"Larry, shut up!", I shouted.
"Finally he talks", he exclaimed.
"What do you want?", I grumbled.
"You know what", he smirked.
In pet out a big sigh. There was no way he'd leave me alone. "Fine. Valerie found about me, OK?"
His eyes widen. "Seriously? What was her reaction?"
"What do you think?", I scowled.
"Oh. I'm so sorry, man", he patted my back.
"Whatever. I'll talk to her again tomorrow and I'll have her back. I have to", I said then he slapped my back making me jumped.
"What the hell?", I said angrily.
"Do you forget about tomorrow? We're going to Chicago", he said.
"Shit I forgot about it", I cursed. "What should I do?", I asked.
"Listen to me, man. You can't back off now, OK? We need to get this job done and fast. After everything is done, you can go finishing your business with Valerie. But now, You need to focus on the game", he stated sternly. I never saw Larry this serious before.
But he was right. The sooner this 'rat' problem is done, the better and I didn't have to worry about Valerie in danger. I think I had to keep my distance from her for a while and focused on it first. I knew this was hard but I couldn't risk Valerie's life.
"Tell the guys to be ready for tomorrow", I said to Larry.
