Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Twaine's Point of View :

"If you're just here to fight Roxanne, it's better to just leave!" I never thought Kyle would yell at me like that right in front of that woman.

Because my eyes were dimming from crying so hard, I hardly knew where my two feet had taken me.

My tears are still flowing. Why isn't it exhausted yet? I have been crying for a few days but my tears are still flowing. Funny that I don’t understand.

"Twaine, stop it." I was stopped when suddenly someone grabbed my other arm.

"Oh, it's you again." I said weakly.

"Why is it that whenever I'm not okay, you're the one who always shows up? Tell me Clyde, who are you really?" I asked gently while my tears continued to flow.

Instead of him answering me, he just gave me a tight hug. I’ll admit, I was slowly calming down because of his hug. I did not mumble or make any noise. I just felt myself as he hugged me.

"Don't you really remember me?" He asked me. He let go of my hug so it doesn't matter that we are facing each other now.

"It's me, Alex. Your childhood friend." I was stunned by what he said.

Until a small memory suddenly came back to my memory.

Flasback.

"Angel! Hi Angel, come. Let's play." A boy is calling me. He was carrying a lollipop. One was in his mouth while the other he was holding he was forcibly handed to me.

"Daddy told me not to talk to strangers." I replied while looking at the lollipop he was holding.

"But I'm not a stranger, I'm a neighbor." He pointed to their house just across from ours.

"Really?" I happily asked him. He nodded.

"Can you be my playmates forever?" He asked first before handing me the lollipop.

"Yes, I will." I answered with a smile, so he finally gave me the lollipop that I had been craving before.

"By the way, I'm Alex." He smiled while introducing himself.

"I'm Twaine, not angel." I corrected my name.

"I already knew your name," he said cute.

"How did you know?" I asked him curiously.

"I met your Dad yesterday and I asked him about you." I just nodded at him.

"Alex, look I have a gift for you!" I happily said to Alex here in the vacant lot we are playing with.

"Wow! How did you make this?" He wondered. He was holding a picture frame with the contents of a picture of us together.

"My Nanny Ledy gave me this," I said shyly.

"—she said that it's a best gift for a playmates like you." I continued. I was surprised when he suddenly hugged me and kissed me on the cheek.

"Why did you do that?" I asked in shock.

"I like you Twaine, promise me to marry me when we grow up. Please?" He said pouting.

"I like you too, Alex. I promise also to marry you when we grow up." I smiled in response to him.

"Really? Then, I'll give you this." He showed me a necklace. Its pendant was a heart and a key.

"What's this for?" I asked.

"For our promise to marry each other." He answered.

End of flashback.

I was caught by the necklace around my neck. The necklace given to me by my childhood friend Alex is still there.

"You're Clyde, not Alex." I kept saying while still holding the necklace around my neck.

"It's me, Alexander Clyde Hartfeld a.k.a Alex." His eyes were shining as he said those.

"If you don't want to believe, here." He pulled out a small picture frame, the picture was old but it was really the two of us. I suddenly hugged him tightly.

"It's really you. B-but why did you suddenly disappear?" I almost cry as I asked him.

"Come with me, this is not the right place to talk to." I nodded in agreement.

I got on his motor and he took me to a cafè near HIH. When we entered, the waiters approached us immediately.

"Sir Clyde, what's your order?" The waiter asked.

"Just give me a water." Clyde replied.

"Just water too." I said.

"I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye." He starts.

"Even me, I don't know what's the reason of my parents during that night when we flew to America. I thought, we're just having a vacation but sadly, we're not." He said sadly.

"I was so happy when I found out that we would be coming back in the Philippines again because I knew I would see you again, but those happiness suddenly disappeared when I heard about uncle Kyle's wife," my eyes widened at the last thing he said.

"Y-you mean, he's your uncle?" He nodded slightly.

"I wanted to get you from him but I can't—'coz I knew you're happy with him." He added as a few tears began to drip from his eyes.

"I told uncle several times to take care of and love you as much as I love you, but he didn't do that. So, I'm going to take you back from him." He took my two hands for a moment and held them tightly.

"Twaine, please let him go and be with me." He begged me to stop him. I shook his hand and withdrew my hands again.

"N-no. I'm sorry Clyde, but I love him." I said.

"But I love you, more than you love him. I promise not to hurt you like what he did."

"Please, my angel?" Tears welled up in his eyes as he pleaded with me.

"I'm really sorry Clyde. But I can't leave him. As long as I can endure the pain, I will endure for the sake of my love for your uncle." I keep refusing. I didn't want to go any further on where Clyde and I talked so I got up and hurried out of the café.

"Twaine, wait up!" I even heard Clyde shouted but I ignored it.

I immediately hailed a taxi and drove to Kyle's mansion.

As soon as I arrived at the mansion, I immediately pressed the doorbell. Immediately one of their maids opened the door for me.

"Ma'am Twaine, come in."

"Thank you."

As I walked into the mansion I could barely breathe with my heart beating so fast. I don't know what's up but I'm nervous. I came here to hopefully ask for the help of Aunt Kyla and Uncle Andrew about Kyle and me.

I know it's crazy but I can't think of anything else to run about with the problem Kyle and I are facing. I didn't want to get to the point where Kyle and I would break up forever. I love him too much to just let him marry someone else, especially that Roxanne.

"Twaine, what are you doing here?" Aunt Kyla asked in shock.

"W-wait, why are your eyes so swollen? Do you have a problem with my son?" I didn't answer my aunt instead I hugged her tightly.
