Chapter 46: Chapter 46
"What did she say?" Nick inquired Kyle.
Taking a sigh he retorted, "She will not be coming here, she already went ba... Back."
Nick scowled at the woman sitting on the chair exactly opposite of him and asked in a cold tone, "Are not you leaving?"
"Ahh, yes. Mr. Davis, if you need someone to pretend to be your woman again then please don't forget me..." As she said so Nick hit on the table angrily and glared at Kyle. With a shaky tone, Kyle stared at the woman, "Miss Hutson, please come this way."
She followed him when Nick was glaring in the space with a scary expression. He had his fists clenched, his jaw was clutched.
"Kyle, is Mr. Davis not satisfied with my performance?" As the woman asked Kyle he nodded his head. "Our guest tonight did not come that's why he is furious."
"Guess it's his girlfriend. I am jealous, she is so lucky to have him. Mr. Davis is..."
"Not his girlfriend but wife," Kyle added.
"Huh?"
"She is his wife." Hearing Kyle she widened her eyes and turned back to look at angry Nick. "I did not know he has a wife."
"Since we are close friends, I am telling you. He has a wife and she is angry at him so..."
"So he wanted to make her jealous, he wanted to see how does she react seeing him with another woman right?"
"How did you know?" Kyle could not remember telling her about that. Strange!
Smiling she asserted while glaring at Nick. "He was so quiet most of the time. He was looking at his phone again and again. Only when he thought his wife was coming did he hold my hand and say, 'make sure she gets jealous'. That time I understood that this person is very important for him." She smiled again.
Kyle glared at Nick, right he also saw him look at his phone many times. So he was waiting for her eagerly? "Do you... Do you think he loves her?"
"He does."
Kyle broadened his eyes. Was he hearing right? "Are you sure?"
"I am. I saw him the whole time. The far I know him he never gives a damn about any girl. Sometimes ago he told in front of the media that he had a crush and that girl was also there. It was indeed surprising. But seeing him today, I can tell she is important to him. You see him? He seems to be angry right? When he was waiting he was nervous, he told me many times to act well. We must make it look like it was real. I can tell... If he doesn't care about her he would not get me first and he would not be arranging all of this. He is Nicolas Davis, every woman would be happy to be his girlfriend. He is giving someone so much importance, I bet she means a lot for him."

"Sanaya, are you ok?" Mrs. Elisa had been noticing her, she was continuously playing with the fork instead of eating. Her mind seemed to be somewhere else and her eyes were swollen. Though Mrs. Elisa asked her she did not say anything.
"Ahh, don't you like the dishes? Do you want to..." This time Sanaya looked at her with those murky eyes of hers. "Can you make me... Omelet? My mom... she used to make me one but... She is not here, I can't..." Tonight, she was missing her mom. She wanted to hug her and cry but unfortunately, she was not here and this was not her time to go back.
Mrs. Elisa could feel how dreadful she was. She sauntered towards her and patted her head with motherly affection, "Gimme some minutes, I will be back soon. Ok?"
Sanaya bobbed her head. As Mrs. Elisa walked to the kitchen Sanaya let out a depressing smile. 'I will miss you, Mrs. Elisa.'
"It was delicious..." Sanaya ate nothing but only rice with omelet and yet she was happy, she had that cheerful smile playing on her face. She was going towards the staircase when she saw Nick. Turning towards him she asserted, "You are back..."
"You had dinner?"
"Hmm."
"I see..." She did not wish he would say anything else, if he was going to then it would have been long ago. Seeing her walk upstairs Nick asked her in an encouraging voice. "Are you... Are you going to sleep? You are... Tired?"
Sanaya just nodded her head and again it was silent. Nobody talked anymore. Nick wanted to but seeing her he lost his words. Sanaya walked away and he stood all silent.
'Why did she seem like that? Did something happen?' Nick was still thinking so when Mrs. Elisa stepped to him.
"You still have time, get a hold on yourself little Nick." Mrs. Elisa sounded more like a mother rather than just a caretaker. She could not just see them get apart slowly. As Nick could not understand what did she mean he asked her, "What do you mean?"
"I am having a bad feeling, you... You are losing her slowly. Don't you understand?" Seeing him silent she added more, "Stop hurting her. If she... She leaves you then I'm telling you. You will regret it. You will regret it very much."
Until now Nick had thought something happened to Sanaya in his absence but now, Mrs. Elisa was confusing him. What did he do? Why she was saying that as if he was to blame?
Smiling faintly he let out, "I don't understand what are you saying. Firstly, I did not hurt her. I didn't do anything wrong with her. Secondly, why would she leave me? And third, I never regret anything I do. You should know that."
Ego or prejudice? Was he serious? Mrs. Elisa indeed was not so sure of what exactly happened between them, she was just assuming things but she was not so sure even.
"I'm going to get freshen up first." With that, he walked up the stairs. Mrs. Elisa could only sigh and pray.
While getting in his room Nick stopped at his feet as his eyes caught on her room. 'She is awake...' he walked to her room and saw her stand by the window.
Looking at his wristwatch he sighed. Then he walked in and towards her. She was probably lost so much that she did not even see him coming towards her. Until his husky voice could be heard from behind she did not wipe off her tears.
"You are still awake."
"I was going to sleep..." He saw her brushing off her face. He held her wrist and asked, "Is something wrong?"
She simply nodded her head slightly in denial and pulled her hand away. As if he was going to let her go, instead he held it tight, and then he held her another hand when she was about to pull her hand away.
He looked straight into her eyes and let out in a concerned voice, "Tonight, I am not going to let you go. Tell me what happened. Why were you crying?"
"I've already answered." She responded in a low voice while sniffing with her head bowed down.
Nick moved closer to her and touched her face, letting her hands go. "That was not my answer. You are simply hiding things from me. You ain't telling me why are you sad."
Though she tried not to look at him but could not help. Nick pulled her face closer to his. "What's wrong? I never saw you crying like this before. You are not ok..."
"And why do you care?"
"What?"
Sanaya sniffed again and then pushed him away. She stepped backward and let out, "Why should I tell you if I am ok or not. Who are you to ask me? No, why are you even asking me? It has nothing to do with you."
"I am asking you because I am..."
"I am what?"
"I.. because I am your husband. I am supposed to ask you if..."
Surprising him, she chuckled. Her eyes were still teary and she looked up, trying her best so tears would not be coming down to her eyes. As he moved towards her she proclaimed, "I am really tired. Can you please leave me alone?"
"Sanaya, for God seck tell me at the least what exactly happened? By any chance, are you missing your mom? Or your dad or..."
She cut him off. So he was doing all these just because his 'being her husband' thing triggered him? He was not worried about her? Why was he even asking her? It was making her sadder. What was she expecting from him? From the person who cheated on her constantly and even had the guts to act all like a 'good husband' with her!
"You are really something..." She uttered while chuckling sarcastically.
Nick glanced at her narrowing his eyebrows, "What?"
"You said you married me because I am beautiful, right?"
"Ye-ah..."
'I see.' Suddenly Sanaya held his hand and dragged him into her bedroom. She pushed him on the bed and sat next to him. Nick could not understand what got into her. She was changing once in a minute.
He tried getting up but was taken aback by her. She simply nudged him again and then she started undressing herself. He grabbed her hand and asked in a cold tone, "What are you doing you think?"
"I am doing what you want."
"What? Are you crazy? I..."
She stared at him with a grim smile. "I bet you wanted to marry me because you wanted to spend a night with me. So tonight, I want to...."
"Sanaya, don't spout nonsense. You... You have lost your mind!"
She leaned down and touched his lips. Putting her finger between his lips she ran her hand down his neck slowly. Nick had a bad feeling. It was not the way she used to look at him. It was not love in her eyes but only unknown emotions...
"I will make you happy tonight. So that this marriage named tie can..." Now it was enough. He lost his temper. Grabbing her hand he pushed her away and in no time he got on top of her. "You are my wife. What type of nonsense are you talking about! Come back to your senses, Sanaya."
"So? What's the problem? We will spend a night tonight and tomorrow you can go to another woman as you wish. Isn't it a better idea? Let's see if you can f*ck anoth..." She could not even finish her words yet he grabbed her neck angrily and looked at her. A drop of tears evaded her eyes when she glanced at him with a smile.
"Mind your words! Are you drunk? I am your husband. How can you tell me to go to another woman?" But his question was unanswered. She giggled sarcastically again. Getting up off her he stood still, trying to calm down.
Sanaya was still lying the same way, broken, helpless, and awful. "I think you are drunk. We will talk tomorrow morning."
"You will not sleep with me tonight... Maybe in the future... You... Won't even get a chance, Mr. Davis." His footsteps stopped as he heard her. Turning towards her he announced, "You are my wife. From now on, remember that. Don't use a language that is not suitable for Mrs. Davis. Good night." And he evacuated.
But Sanaya was still at the same place. Lying on the bed and all smiling. "Mrs. Davis... Am I?
