Chapter 35: Chapter 35
"Do you think it's funny?" Sanaya had enough. He was behaving just like he wanted, as he pleased but it was exhausting for her. "I just wanted to..." Nick felt bad seeing her eye at him, her eyes were calm. He thought he would take her out for lunch and she would easily forgive him for last night.
Sanaya snickered sarcastically while standing at a corner, "Nick, I am getting tired... Can you please tell me what do you want? I am a human, I get hurt. You can't just... You can't just throw me away then pull me closer. It hurts, it hurts me." She could not stop her tears from coming out of her eyes.
He felt a sharp pain cropped up in his chest. Those tears were his fault, he made her outcry, he has hurt her. If he would stay there for long he would surely do something so he decided to leave. Taking a peek at Sanaya he left some sighs.
Even though she was hurt but she wanted him to stay, to say something but he chose to leave. Probably he had nothing to say. She let out a sigh frantically. Now, he did not even want to explain anything to her.
The eyeballs of hers clouded over his figure until his shadow was nowhere to be seen. Serena wanted nothing but him, talking to her. But it seemed to be quite a big deal for Nick or maybe she was not apt of even that...

Like any other days Sanaya stared at her wristwatch, only five minutes left till six pm in the evening and she was yet stuck with a huge workload. Maybe today she was not going to get a chance to go back, Sanaya took a sigh thinking of 'no chance to go home tonight'.
After working for two hours continually she needed a coffee to shoo away her nagging nap. Kneading her eyes Sanaya got up. There was no human being to whom she could tell to send her a coffee so she needed to get it herself. But she was stupefied when she saw Nick all of a sudden. She squatted back in her chair.
"Here's your hot coffee." Putting the coffee cup he whispered so with a smile. How did he know that she wanted it? Did he notice her? Sanaya stroked the cup and he touched her hand. She gaped at him. What did he want now? She wondered but could not ask him. He appeared to read through her eyes eventually. She heard him talking in a clear voice, "Can I be forgiven? I know I have hurt you but please forgive me. I will try my best to be a good husband from now on."
Yes, that's what Sanaya wanted. Even if he would behave nicely with her and treat her like he was supposed to do then she would be very happy. Sanaya was not a person who held grudges against people so she easily forgave him. Her lips widened.
Sanaya pulled him into her arms affectionately and let out, "That's all I want. Did I forgive you, from now on don't ever hide anything from me ok? Good or bad, any sides of you I am ready to accept them. Just don't keep everything to yourself, Nick."
Hesitant, he was staring at his hands. Whether to hug her or not, he was fighting with himself. If his one side wanted to just pull her closer then his other side wanted to push her away. Letting him go Sanaya cupped his face as she proclaimed, "See, Nick. I don't need you to try hard to be the best husband for me in this world. Just... Just don't hurt me ever again..."
She looked down, she became sad. Taking a light sigh, "Don't ever hurt me again or I..."
"I won't." Today he has made his mind that he would take care of her, be a good husband and fulfill his duty. But even though he was unknown of why he felt something stopping him from hugging her. The distance, he was not so bothered by it. He just felt he went too far.
Sanaya was happy to see Nick be caring for her. There was workload but he grabbed her by her waist and took her out of the construction. Was her marriage life was starting now? Was she going to getting loved by her husband like this? She wished she would be. She wished her decision to marry him was not wrong, if so she did not know what she would do.
In the car, Sanaya was seated next to Nick. Both were quiet but in their heart, they had a wave of strong feelings. After their marriage they did not go on a honeymoon, he was thinking of taking her to somewhere she would like to go with him. At this time Nick was almost about to say something to Sanaya but suddenly, the silence was halted by the notification sound coming on his cell.
Until he glanced at the screen his eyes were full of excitement but now his intense gaze at the screen was flashing enraged. He grabbed his cell phone tight and looked straight.
"Is everything ok?" Her worried voice snapped him out of his trance. "Yeah." He answered shortly.
If she felt him sincere and caring a while ago she felt him cold and enraged a little later. Sanaya wanted to talk to him before going to sleep but Nick did not even give a glance at her. "Good night, Nick." She thought he might not hear her or maybe he was busy talking to a businessman over the call. So she went into her room without waiting for him.
"Good night." With that as Nick has hung up, he sucked a deep sigh. "Sana... Ya..." He saw Sanaya left already.
He was so busy talking to a business friend that he forgot about her, she might have waited for him. Nick walked upstairs when Mrs. Elisa showed up in front of him.
"You want to say something?." He asked her. Mrs. Elisa nodded her head.
"... I am very happy to see you both happy." Mrs. Elisa saw the difference in his behavior. It was cute to see him caring for his wife. At least Nick was trying. "But I want to tell you something."
"What is it?" Nick questioned. "Tell her everything about you if it's possible for you. If she learns them later and gets hurt, I am telling you. Trust me, you will know the real pain, it'll be too much for you so don't hurt her."
For a moment he was quiet. To think of it, was she going to still care for him if he was to tell her everything? Nick got up to the chair. "I will try."

It was the next day, Sanaya was about to go to the cafeteria. Suddenly seeing Kyle run toward her she stopped walking, wondering something important might have happened.
Seeing him gasping for breath Sanaya asked, "Is something wrong?"
Kyle took a few breaths before talking. "Boss refused to take lunch."
"What?"
Kyle sent lunch at his cabin as he ordered him to do before but Nick said he did not want to have lunch anymore.
"Is he not hungry?" If he was not hungry, possibly Kyle would not be here Sanaya knew that. That meant it was something else. Kyle answered her, "Can you make lunch for him? He said he would eat if you cook for him."
"But I have...."
"He is hungry but he doesn't wanna eat the food of the cafeteria or anywhere. He said he missed your cooking. I have tried to talk to him but he said, only if you cook lunch for him he will eat or he will starve himself." Sanaya was not angry. She finished her work for the time being, until she would get any new files to work on she could take some time off. So she agreed.
"Aiden will take you back to the mansion. I have told him already." How did Kyle know that she would say yes, she was not aware of asking him. Aiden drove her to the mansion. Seeing Sanaya back to the mansion at this time Mrs. Elisa asked her if everything ok. "Everything is ok. I came back to make something for Nick. I am going to cook lunch for him."
"But don't you have workload? Is he bullying you again? If he does tell me, I will take..." Mrs. Elisa was a motherly figure. How she always took her side and be like a mother, Sanaya loved it. Suddenly Sanaya embraced her. Mrs. Elisa reminded her of her mother back in India.
Seeing her crying Mrs. Elisa hugged her, back, "What's two? Sanaya. Why are you crying?"
"I miss my mom." She let out between her tears. Strange... She never thought there would be a day like this when she would be staying so far away from her mom. Before she used to think that without her parents, her family she would never be able to stay alive but now, she was leaving in a different country, with different people. "O dear, do you want to see your mom? I will talk to little Nick, tell him..."
Even if she missed her but she was not in a situation where she could meet her mom. So many things happened, her family was unaware of everything. How could she tell them about her marriage and all the stuff... Wiping off her tears Sanaya smiled faintly, "No... I can not see her..."
"Why not? Dear." Mrs. Elisa asked.
"I am now a married woman but my family knows nothing about it. After I came here, everything happened so fast that I forgot... True to say, I don't dare. I can not dare to call them. How can I tell them what.". Sanaya burst out in tears again. Mrs. Elisa patted her shoulder gently. "I know. You are afraid how will you explain everything. But Sanaya, your mom and dad love you. They will surely understand, call them and tell them everything. Maybe the situation will not be like you think?"
Yes, she could hope so but deep down she knew it was not so easy. Even if her parents were to accept it but her grandfather would never. The time he would know that Sanaya got married to a guy from different religion he would cut off his relationship with Sanaya immediately. Even if everybody would accept Nick as her husband but her grandfather would never accept him as Sanaya's husband. Mrs. Elisa seemed to read her mind. "Are you afraid that they won't accept Nick as your husband?"
Sanaya was shocked. How did she understand what she was thinking? Mrs. Elisa's lips curved into a smile. "You might be wondering how can I know what are you thinking right? I was once in your place so I know it very well how might be you feeling..."
"In my place? Did you also..."
"Do you know where my husband is?" As Mrs. Elisa questioned her she nodded her head in denial. Smiling Mrs. Elisa sat next to her, "He is in India." Sanaya was in total surprise, her eyes widened in wonder. Mrs. Elisa continued to say, "I am a Christian girl and he is a Muslim man. We got married because we fell in love when we were in our 20's but later... Later his parents did not accept our marriage. They said I am an orphan, how can he form a rich family can marry a girl like me... "
Sanaya felt bad for her. Seeing a person it's really hard to tell facts about her and what she might go through. "They kept telling him to leave me and marry the girl they choose for him. But he said he would never do that. He was happy with me and he wanted only one wife for the rest of his life and that could be me only."
"Wow. He is so cool." Sanaya said so. She was listening to her with attention.
With a smile, Mrs. Elisa continued to say, "Yes, he was. Day passed by and finally, it was the day, we have... Got separated."
"Separated?"
"He wanted to fight till the end but I let him go... Sometimes I regret letting him go... So I am telling you, don't ever let Nick go. Hold his hand tight just like he held yours and whatever happens never let him go. It's hard to find a person who loves you truly nowadays and maybe you can do something stupid for some people thinking you are doing right, you are sacrificing for good but trust me, you will only hurt both of you that way. So don't let him go ever and face every situation with him, every problem you encounter. I don't want you to do the same mistake as I did... " Until now Sanaya was listening to her but now she was concerned, why Mrs. Elisa was telling her not to let him go? Why would she let him go when they were happy? Strange! Sanaya could not understand why she was saying that again and again.
Maybe she was thinking too much? Sanaya thought Mrs. Elisa was just worried as Nick had acted weird previously, so she choose to stay quiet.
