Chapter 29: Chapter 29

It was the next morning when Nick and Sanaya were lying on the same bed. Nick's one arm at the back of her neck when she was sleeping and his other hand was occupied by holding her other hand.

"What..." Nick tried moving his right arm but could not. As he opened his eyes he was surprised. "What is she doing here?"

Touching her head gently he tried moving his arms from the back of her neck. As he moved his arm he glanced at Sanaya. "It would be fun." Leaning down a little he whispered near her ears, "It's morning. Get up." He kept his eyes glued on her but she did not move. He yelled at her ears, "Get up! It's morning."

"Morning?" Sanaya was scared, she was getting up after opening her eyes but who knew their lips would be touched. Blinking her eyes she widened them and her hands wriggled a little.

Nick did not want it to be only a peck on the lips, not just light touch on the lips but more. "Wait, this is my first kiss..." Sanaya thought in her mind. But before he would progress farther she pushed him away in a hurry. "Sorry." With that, she got up and ran out of his room. Nick was disappointed, indeed he was.

"What was I thinking?" He took a sigh and then he strolled towards the bathroom. Closing the door Sanaya breathed in and out deeply. She touched her chest and proclaimed, "Why did I push him away? Oh my God, he is my husband now. But it made me so nervous, I can't comprehend it in total... My heart, it's about to burst out..."

Moving some strand of hair Sanaya smeared a bit of vermillion on her head and then she glanced at the mirror and smiled. She got her purse and cell phone then she ran down upstairs to go to the breakfast table. When she was running towards the breakfast table she crashed with Nick on the way.

He grabbed her hand gently, "Are you okay?" Nodding her head as her gaze fell on his lips she pulled her hand away. He was astounded. "What is wrong with her?"

"I want to say something to you." They were walking towards the breakfast table walking side by side. Hearing Sanaya Nick gaped at her, "What is it?"

"I don't want you to treat me like your wife at work." As she announced so he narrowed one of his eyebrows. "Like my wife? Then how do you want me to treat you?" He questioned.

"Like an employee." She answered. "And why don't you want me to treat you like my wife at work? May I know?"

Clearing her throat she countered, "Because only our close friends and relatives know about our wedding. Though we wear our wedding rings always but not everybody knows that we are couples so if you treat me special... I mean as your wife, they will think it's not fair." Hearing her explanation and point of view he sighed as he recited, "Well, I don't care. My wife, how I treat her has got nothing to do with what people will think."

"But I do. I do care. I don't want people to think that what I am doing, I got it because of something else but not because of my skill. So please try to understand." Sanaya was standing straight for her decision.

Putting his hands in his pocket Nick asked her, "What do you mean by something else?"

"Ahh, it's... You won't understand."

"I see... So are you sure you are ok with me treating you like my other employees?" He asked her in a serious tone.

Sanaya bobbed her head smiling. With a sigh, he declared, "As you wish..." When Sanaya was smiling because he did not disagree Nick stopped walking and turned towards her, observing how she was being happy. His intense gaze was saying something else... "Don't regret later."

After breakfast, Sanaya ran out of the grand foyer. Aiden was waiting outside the car. As she got in the car she looked outside the car, "Did Nick left already?"

"Yes," Aiden answered, starting the engine.

As soon as the car stopped Sanaya got out of the car, "Thank you, Aiden." With that, she ran towards the corporation building.

But she was disappointed a little bit when she heard Kyle say that she was going with him to meet. "Is he..."

"No, he is not here. Boss doesn't attend any meetings but rarely he does so." Kyle explained. With a sad face, she told him, "But some days ago he came into the office and also went to all the meetings..."

"Yes, he did. I don't know why but he changed his decision that time and yesterday he told me that he was going back to the past him. So today we are in charge of all the works. Let's go."

Sanaya was indeed disappointed as she did not see Nick. But Kyle was a great help so she was too busy at work, she forgot about Nick. She was not sad anymore. In the evening Aiden went to pick her up from work then he sent her back to the mansion like he was supposed to do so.

Sanaya thought Nick might be at home but no. "Ahh, Mrs. Elisa ...." Sanaya was hesitant. As Mrs. Elisa saw her she smiled at her, "Yes? Do you want to ask me something?"

Smiling sheepishly Sanaya touched a chair as she spoke, "Yeah... So... Do you know where Nick is?"

Sanaya was a bit surprised to hear her. "Didn't he go to the company? He left before you, I thought you guys were going to go together... "

"Work? But he did not go there..." She mumbled. When she was thinking she remembered what Kyle told her this morning. "Do you know where he goes when he doesn't go to the company?"

Mrs. Elisa stared at her, "I hope he did not go there. Sorry, I can not tell you about this..."

Waving her hand in front of her Sanaya asked her again, "Mrs. Elisa, do you know?" Startled Mrs. Elisa answered, "Sorry, I don't know about it."

Sanaya sighed. Walking up the staircase she said, "It's ok. I will go and change first. I am hungry..."

"Sure. Freshen up first, dinner will be ready soon." With a smile Mrs. Elisa let her know that. Seeing her walking upstairs she let out a sigh of grief, "Getting a caring partner is not so easy. I hope you won't ruin your happiness in your own hands, little Nick."

"Aiden, tell me one thing..." Having his eyes closed Nick asked Aiden in a drunken tone. "Do you think all the women in the world are the same?" Aiden was startled by his question.

"Why is he asking me this question again?" Aiden had been disliking this question for a while now. Every time Nick asked him that question, Aiden knew that Nick was going to hurt another woman. But now he was married, seriously he was not going to... As Nick snapped his fingers in front of Aiden he answered, "I apologize. I might not be able to answer this."

He heard Nick chuckle. He kept his eyes lowered, what was he going to do mattered for sure. Nick asserted in a cold tone, "It's ok. I have prepared my answer already..."

With an utter surprise, Aiden asked him, "What are going to do"

Nick got up to the couch when Aiden followed him. He surely did not have that much authority that he could stop Nick, except following him he did not know what to do.

Sanaya was sitting on a chair, resting her head on the table. Mrs. Elisa indeed got into her world, "You are hungry, maybe little Nick will be back soon. Please eat something first." She said.

Sanaya smiled at her, that pure childlike smile... Just like Mrs. Elisa's little daughter used to smile. "I want to have dinner with him, together... Let me wait a little bit more, I am sure he will be back soon and we will have dinner together."

"Let me ask you something. Do you love him?" Her question indeed made Sanaya shy. She bit her lips and looked at her bangles, "I don't know. Maybe I do or maybe I don't... "

"Hey Lord, please keep this child always happy and mesmerizing like she is. I pray for her that she will always stay happy like..." Mrs. Elisa's prayers were left unsaid as Nick appeared there. Enthusiastically Sanaya got up to the chair and she was about to run towards him but something got her...

Nick was... Nick was drunk, his legs were stepping ahead like zigzag, his eyes were fixed at her but he was not the Nick Sanaya saw this morning. Messy hair, half-opened shirt, wristwatch was about to loosen up, he had one shoe on another was missing. Sanaya tried to match this Nick who was walking towards her with the Nick from this morning, who was in no way matched with this Nick.

As drunk Nick reached in front of Sanaya, he touched her shoulder and said in a low voice, "Aiden said something to me today... It doesn't match with his usual answer that I have been always hearing..."

Taking a look at Aiden who was standing an inch away from Nick Sanaya looked at Nick. Nick continued to say as he touched the back of her neck slowly in front of everybody, "I want to see if what he said is true..."

"Huh?" Sanaya uttered but she could not say anything else. Nick grabbed her neck all of a sudden and kept pushing her against the wall until her back touched the wall behind her. Sanaya was shocked, what was going on? Her mind was not in the position to think anything. She needed to get away from Nick right now or she could just lose her life... But she did not do so.

Instead, she touched his arm, trying to pull him back to reality. "Ni... Nick, what are you..."

Both Aiden and Mrs. Elisa ran towards them. They were trying their best to save Sanaya from Nick's grip. Nick raised her in the air as he said, "Why are not you saying that you want to run away? Ain't you going to leave me and be afraid of me as all of them?"

Sanaya was short of breath, she could not say anything. She kept looking at him, tears rolled down to her beautiful eyes, only then he understood what was he doing.

As soon as he put her down, let her go, Sanaya fell to the ground. Touching her neck Sanaya tried to inhale the air as much as she could. She was not ok but when she saw Nick to turn to leave she pulled the corner of his shirt and said in her shaky, unstable voice, "Where are... You going?"

Nick turned towards her, he saw the tears in her eyes. What! Why! Damn it! He wanted to cuss. But he did know what was wrong with him! He felt hurt seeing her teary eyes. Sanaya tried getting up while holding the corner of his shirt. "Don't go anywhere, we..."

"Aiden!" Nick called out his name in a cold tone while having his eyes fixed at Sanaya.

"Yes... Boss?" Aiden felt bad for Sanaya but he was not so shocked that Sanaya was still thinking of him. He found her being a good person. Nick pushed Sanaya towards Mrs. Elisa and ordered Aiden, "Take me to my room."

"Ok Boss." Aiden did what he was told to do so. Sanaya kept looking at him when he was walking upstairs, this face of him was unexpected to her, it was scary. Sanaya stepped forward as she wanted to follow Nick but Mrs. Elisa stopped her.

"I must see, something happened to him. Let me go." Sanaya kept saying to her. "Let me get you food. You are hungry, let's go." Holding her hand Mrs. Elisa was taking her towards the dining table but Sanaya pulled her hand, "No, I don't want to eat. Nick... He is... He is acting weird. I should..."

Mrs. Elisa touched her face gently, "Look at me. You can not go to him right now."

"Why can't I?" Sanaya questioned.

"I cannot tell you the reason but please trust me. It's for your good..." Sanaya was surprised, she badly wanted to go to Nick, check what was wrong with him, if he was ok, if she was safe but she did not know now what to say...

"Can I not go to him?" Sanaya asked her in a sad tone. Taking a sigh of resentment Mrs. Elisa answered, "No..."

Sanaya smiled sadly. And with that, she walked upstairs, "Don't worry, I won't go to his room... I... I trust you, Mrs. Elisa..."

Those words from her mouth, Mrs. Elisa felt so sad to see how sad Sanaya was. She was waiting for Nick to come back so they would eat together but here, she did not deserve such treatment from him. "But you were hungry, you..." Interrupting her Sanaya said, "I don't have an appetite anymore. Good night, Mrs. Elisa."

Slowly Sanaya was walking away from her vision. "I am sorry but I can not let you go near little Nick right now... Forgive me for stopping you..." Mrs. Elisa took a deep breath...
