Chapter 43: Chapter 43
I couldn't stop thinking about the man I saw, so immediately Comfort came back, I told her about it and she thought the person might be from the restaurant and just wanted to keep me wondering.
"I'm sure you'll run into him again." She assured me.
"I hope so too." I said.
I asked for the details of her date and she actually gave me the detailed explanation not holding anything back and I knew she had so much fun.
"David apologised." I told her, which made her stop midway into removing her blouse.
"He did what? Please tell me you hit him hard?" She asked, turning to face me.
"I told him I would think about it." I whispered.
"My goodness, the one day I decide to go out things happened." Comfort said.
"He looked pitiful, and….." I started before she cut me off.
"You couldn't help it." She concluded for me.
"You get that right." I muttered.
Left to Comfort, she'd match over to David's room and give him the biggest beating of his life but I tried to make her see reason she shouldn't.
"I don't understand why you're defending him and why would you tell him you'll think about it?" She asked.
"I told you before, he actually looked sincere that he wants me to forgive him." I repeated to her.
"Well, if you say so." She said, as she finished undressing.
She went out to wash off the makeup from her face while I stared at my phone blindly.
"Just call Michael instead of glaring at your phone." Comfort said, coming back to the room.
"I don't want to disturb him." I murmured.
Since the day I called him and he didn't answer after four times, I only called when I knew he wasn't at work. Otherwise, I waited for him to call.
"I'm sure he isn't at work now." Comfort answered.
"Then why hasn't he called yet?" I asked, knowing fully well that she wouldn't know the answer.
"You will find out when you call him." She answered again.
I dialled his number hoping he would pick up because I've actually missed talking to him.
"Hello." I heard his voice on the other side.
"Mikey." I called softly while I danced excitedly in my head.
"Angel, sorry I didn't call, I took my younger sister out and I just came in." He explained.
"Is Emily around?" I asked.
"No, the other one, Daisy." He said.
I haven't met her yet but I'm sure I will. He then asked how my day went but since I could hear how tired he was from his voice, I didn't tell him about David or the strange man I met today.
"It was uneventful, how was your outing?" I asked.
"It went well, my sister kept complaining how I've ignored her and she thinks I don't like her as much as I did before." He said, and I smiled at that.
"It's not possible, if it's not anything I know you love her more than she thinks." I told him.
"I do. I miss you so much Angel." He said, and I felt my excitement level rising above normal.
I should be used to this, but whenever he says it I can't help but swoon over the emotions he put into it.
"I missed you too, but do you know what else I've missed?" I asked.
I just wanted to joke around to ease how tired he is because if I ask him to end the call so he can rest, he wouldn't.
"What?" He asked.
"You see, I'm not sure either. It's between kissing you and running my hand through your abs." I told him.
"Angel….you really shouldn't say things like that." Michael said, and that wasn't the response I was expecting.
"You don't want to?" I asked, my voice changing to sound different.
"You have no idea how much I want to, but you're not here and do you know what happens to me when I start imagining you actually doing the things you said?" He replied, asking his own question.
"Do you mean…..oh!" I exclaimed when I finally got what he was talking about.
"I take it that you understand now?" He asked.
"I do, and don't worry I'll make it better when I see you." I told him.
"Angelllll." He whined childishly, while I laughed my head off.
"It's okay, I'll do well to kiss It well." I teased, happy with the reaction I was getting.
"I have to go now, the shower is calling me and I better respond if I want kids in the future." He said, and it was my turn to freeze.
"Do I want kids in the future and with him?" I thought, and the answer was obvious.
"Ok, do take care of yourself." I told him.
After that, I climbed the bed ready to sleep but I still had this one thought I couldn't get rid of.
"Would Michael want a child with me?"
The next morning, I woke up happy and I think it has something to do with the conversation I had with Michael the previous day.
"I think someone is in love." Comfort said when she opened the door.
"Why?" I asked and went to meet her only to see a bunch of flowers by the door.
"They're so beautiful, maybe George sent them." I said
"It has your name on it." She told me and I picked it up to see Precious written in cursive.
"Maybe David wants to earn your trust." Comfort said when we found out it wasn't from Michael.
I had called Michael to tell him thank you for the flowers, but he said he didn't send any.
"That's true." I agreed.
Pulling out my phone, I placed a call to David and when I thanked him, he also said he didn't bring any.
"Then who is it?" Comfort asked, and I tried not to assume the worst.
"I'm not sure either." I replied.
"Maybe someone got a crush on you." She suggested again, but I knew deep down that it wasn't from a crush.
First, the man I met when I went out, now a flower with no name on it.
I just have to wait and find out what was really going on but in the meantime, I need to get to work and hopefully I'm able to concentrate.
"I think I have an idea, but I'm praying I'm wrong." Comfort said.
Straight up, I knew who she had in mind and this is because I also had the same thought but I hope we were both wrong.
"It can't be, I'm definitely overthinking." Comfort continued.
She was having an internal battle because she didn't want to believe that she may be right but I knew better.
When we both managed to convince each other that it wasn't what we had in mind, we both went to work with heavy hearts, constantly looking around for any suspicious person.
"Today's going to be a long day." I thought.
