Chapter 39: Chapter 39

I didn't go to work today, and since I'd decided to tell Michael about David I waited until I knew he'd be free and that was in the evening.

"You really should calm down, or if you know you can't tell him maybe you should forget about it." Comfort said, and I tried not to roll my eyes.

"What if….?" I started, but she didn't let me finish.

"No what ifs, just call him and get over it." She said.

"You're becoming grumpy." I murmured in a not so quiet way.

"I'm going to ignore that." She replied.

I dialled Michael's number and for the first time, he didn't pick so I concluded he's still at work. I called him about two more times but he didn't respond and I became a bit worried.

"Hope he's fine?" I thought.

When I couldn't take it anymore, I called Noah and he picked up on the first ring. I asked him about Michael, to which he replied that he wasn't home yet. It wasn't that late, but he always answers my call so it's understandable that I'm worried about him.

"Are you okay, beautiful?" He asked, noticing the change in my voice.

"I really want to talk to him, and he's not picking his calls." I told him.

"I'll come pick you up, get ready." He replied, and the line went off.

Twenty minutes later, he was at my doorstep looking alarmed as if I told him I was being held at gunpoint. He took me to their house and kept staring at me.

"What's wrong, beautiful?" He asked, while I looked at him nervously.

"David kissed me." I told him in the tiniest voice I possessed.

"Say what now!" He exclaimed.

"I know, now Michael's going to break up with me." I said, tears falling freely down my face.

"Of course not, he might do some damage to David's body but he adores you so there's no way he'd do that." Noah consoled, bringing me into his arms.

Lately, I've been crying a lot but it's a good thing I always have a shoulder I can cry on.

"Did you at least hit him a bit like you did with that man at the restaurant?" Noah asked, which made me look at him in surprise.

"Is he serious right now?" I thought.

"I didn't, but Comfort slapped him." I told him.

"Ooh….I bet she looked so hot while doing it." He said, unaware of her relationship status.

"She has a boyfriend." I informed him.

"I thought we were meant to be together, and that doesn't even answer the question I asked….way to go beautiful." He pouted.

"Well….turns out you're not." I told him, even though I think they'll look good together. But she also looked good with George, who's also a nice guy.

"That's not very nice, beautiful." He said, and I chuckled.

"I'm sure Michael wouldn't break up with you." Noah said, when he noticed my sudden change I'm expression.

The door opened to reveal a surprised Michael, and his eyes were directly on the position I was in with Noah. I quickly removed myself from Noah so it wouldn't make things more complicated.

"Hey Michael, how did work go?" I asked as he kept glaring at Noah.

"Why did you call me Michael? Are you breaking up with me? Did I do something?" Michael asked, but I was confused because that's his name.

"Why would you think I'm breaking up with you?" I asked confused, because if he didn't end things with me there's no way I am breaking up with him.

He explained that he heard the last part of our conversation, so he thought I wanted to end things.

"Angel, you're scaring me, is something wrong?" He asked, when he noticed the look between Noah and I.

"I know you'll think I cheated, but I swear I didn't want to and I didn't see it coming…. Please don't break up with me." I rushed out.

"You have to tell me what's going on." Michael repeated still glaring at Noah, who just sat there watching the unfolding scene not minding Michael's glare.

I explained the same thing I told Noah to him and I think his eyes changed colors.

"Before you do anything, murder is off the table." Noah advised.

"Come here Angel, I'm not going to break up with you." Michael said, and at that same time Noah let out a cough but I heard "told you so"

I went close to him and wrapped my hands around him and I felt him visibly relax.

"He has it coming." Michael muttered, bringing me closer to himself but his hands caressed my face.

As if to tell me again that I was his, he kissed me with urgency and I returned it just the same way.

"And they had to." Noah muttered, and I tried not to laugh at him.

"Shut up, and get yourself a girlfriend." Michael told him.

"Turns out my girlfriend already has a boyfriend." Noah replied, making Michael look confused.

"He's talking about Comfort." I explained, and he nodded in understanding.

"Oh okay, you'll be fine bro." He said.

My joy knew no bounds, because I didn't know what I'd do if he breaks up with me now. He is everything I ever wanted and it'll take a toll on me if we ever broke up, so I didn't want to think about it.

When I wasn't kissing him, and I was certain he wasn't breaking up with me, I noticed something different about him.

"Did you change your perfume?" I asked, and his expression changed to something I couldn't decipher.
