Chapter 59: Chapter 59

SCARLETT’s POV

I woke up because of the sunlight after being in my room for several days. I’m not sure what I’m afraid of. To find out the truth, or where will my anger lead me? I shook my head, not sure.

Perhaps I’m just worried about Erin, as well as the fight between Rios and me. He makes some sense. I just sent too much in the gust of my emotions, and perhaps out of frustration, I aimed my anger at him.

And could my dreams be linked to what happened then, besides the fact that Grandma was killed? Is that why Mom did everything, just to make sure I didn’t remember? But if I don’t remember everything, I won’t know who killed Grandma or what happened.

When my phone rang, I came to a halt and stretched before reaching for my phone to answer who was calling.

“Who is this?” I asked on the other line, as I was not in the mood. I recognized the laugh. I frowned and looked at the number, but I didn’t save it.

“What do you need, and why did you call right now?”

He laughed as if he were happy, and occasionally, I think he’s insane.

(“Scarlett, I know you miss my handsomeness, but don’t be too obvious…”) he said, but I could tell he was smiling; I rolled my eyes because I know he’s a tease.

“Shut up.” I said annoyed. “What else do you need? Do you plan for us to return to your quarters?”

I could hear him sigh.

(“No, we need some space first.”)

I gave him a frown. “What do you mean?” he sighed again.

(“Sophia knows I’m involved in what happened to Erin Knight, so she’s keeping an eye on me; I’ll have to trick her first, too.”) he said, and I was taken aback. (“Oops, someone’s calling! Bye!”) He hung up just as I was about to say something.

I was stomping my feet in annoyance! “Shit! Who said I required your help? I can save Erin without you!” I yelled, dropping my phone and standing up to shower and dress.

We’ve been spending too much time here; I shouldn’t be so stubborn anymore; the mission is taking longer because of me.

I left the bathroom to get dressed after finishing my routine; I still have to apologize to everyone because I became a burden on the plan; I know they are just waiting for me to start over.

I walked out of the room, surprised that they weren't all in the living room.

Where did they go? They left their belongings, including computers, and left open. I walked over to Claire’s monitor and noticed my cousins in the pool area, where they appeared to be having a good time.

I clenched my fist. Wow, they still have time to enjoy themselves. Damn! I didn’t say anything to invite them to come here!

I sat down at the table and examined the blueprint we stole from Solen’s quarters. They also have a large area in San Martin, which is why most people in Manila are unfamiliar with Solen, since they live here.

They had intended to enter the Knights’ business, so they were able to close mine as well.

“Oh, you’re awake!”

I was surprised and closed my eyes because he was here. Did he really not return to Manila?

“Do you want breakfast?” asked DOMINIC. He is, indeed. I shook my head at him and sat down because I was still trying to figure out how to get back to Erin’s quarters.

I'm not expecting a Jaguar because he’s worthless. He can fool Sophia. Speaking of her…

Why is she also here?!? To stay updated on my next steps? Annoying! She must be nearby where I am! Why doesn’t she just get her life together? And force Dominic back, so he doesn’t bother me anymore!

“Are you using any plans to escape again?”

I came to a halt and turned to face the man in front of me, “What else do you need? Why haven’t you returned to Manila yet?” I asked irritably, and he grinned and crossed his arms.

“Regardless of whether you want it or not… I’m part of the plan,” he said, smiling. “I’ll look after Sophia.”

I grinned as I raised my brows.

“That’s right! You take care of your fiancé!” I said, grinning at him. His smile had faded, and he was staring at me intently.

“I'm not just here to participate in the plan; I'm also here to get back at you,” he said, attempting to take my hand, but I avoided him.

I can’t discuss our problem just yet. Our family is in a major crisis, so I should set aside my emotions first. And I shouldn’t accept what he says.

“How many times do I have to remind you, Dominic, that there is no one between us?” I sighed. “Our relationship has been over for a long time, ever since you cheated on me because what has been broken for a long time cannot be repaired,” I said. I stood up to leave the suite because I needed to speak with my cousins.

I even looked across our suite, relieved that he hadn’t followed me.

I would rather not add to my list of problems. I took the elevator to go see my cousins, who were enjoying themselves. ‘When I exited the elevator… I’m uncertain if today is a bad day.

“Where’s Dominic?” Sophia asked, expecting my exit from the elevator. It turns out that her radar is also sensitive, and she expects she will see me now.

I just shrugged and passed her, but she was the one who didn’t want to stop. F-ck! What else does she want from me? Is she not going to stop?!?

“What else do you need?” I asked. She impedes my plans far too often. “I don’t have time to talk to you,” I said as I struggled to free myself from her grip and adjusted my clothes.

“Aren’t you going to stop flirting with Dominic? You say you don’t want it anymore, but here you are chasing him!” she exclaimed. I was stunned and noticed the people who had already turned to look at us.

I don’t know where she got the courage to say those words to me. Darn her. I took a deep breath and locked my gaze on her.

“Whatever you and Dominic are up to, I don’t care. Just don’t involve me in your dramas!” I came to a halt when I remembered something. “Oh… So, you’re doing that because Dominic doesn’t like you?” I asked, smiling. Her eyes widened, and she was going to slap me when I stopped her.

“Your palm has no right to touch my cheek,” I said before releasing her wrist. “I already have plenty of issues, Sophia; add no more!”

She came to a halt and was surprised by what I did.

What did she think of me? Is it a weak one? If I had missed her betrayal of me before, well! I’ve changed now because I will not sanctify her.

“Please, Sophia! Just please! If you have any shame left in your body, stop messing with my life! Don’t use people’s weakness just to get what you want!” I yelled as I gripped her arm tightly. “Not everything you want, you can get,” I whispered as I grinned.

“When I find out you have anything to do with Erin…" I grinned and grabbed her neck, whispering, “I will kill you myself.” I patted her cheek, and I surprised her with what I had done.

“Try to use my children against me… I will kill you. You haven’t seen how I move. Maybe even your daughter will get in trouble,” I smiled and said to her before turning to leave. “Ah… Dominic is in my suite; get him.”

I gave a lovely smile. “We’ll see if he goes with you,” I said, winking at her and waving her away because she makes my blood boil. When I heard her growl in rage, I chuckled.

That’s right, Sophia. Just be enraged until you give up. Because I will not back down from you, either.

I went straight to the pool area, but I turned around when I saw Jaguar talking to a woman, who seemed pleased because he was with a woman.

I clenched my fist because he claimed Sophia was monitoring on him, but the truth is he just wants to find a woman for a one-night stand. Furthermore, I wanted to bother him because my cousins were nearby, so I couldn’t talk to him either. Annoying!

I need him to return to the quarters to save Erin, but he’s laughing with the girl instead. He is a useless business partner. Jaguar, you’re a jerk! I hope you’re the first to die! You’re insane.

It surprised me when I noticed him smirking at me, so I rolled my eyes and raised my middle finger at him before going to see my cousins. When I arrived at the pool area, I noticed everyone was very relaxed.

I noticed the twins Aaron and Eron with a woman. Perhaps they came here to look for a woman. I approached them and no one seemed to notice my presence, so I walked behind the twins.

And I wrapped my arms around them both, and they were surprised. “What are you doing? Hmm?” I asked, smiling, as they coughed and Eron looked like he was about to vomit when he saw me.

“Is it fun to talk to girls?” I asked the twins again, and I looked at the girls with them, who were surprised by my presence, and left.

“S-Scarlett—” I covered Eron’s mouth as he was about to shout my name and smiled threateningly at him to keep him quiet. I turned to face Aaron, who smiled and scratched his jaw.

“Isn’t it fun?” I asked again, and they nodded. I nodded and smacked them hard. “You’re very relaxed when you know there’s still a crisis,” I grumbled, motioning them not to make a sound as I went to the siblings, Sandro and Sander, who were in the pool with wine in hand.

When I looked around, I noticed a ball. When I felt the ball was a little heavy, I grinned and lifted it up.

I looked at the twins, who were praying for what would happen to Sandro and Sander. I laughed and whistled to throw a ball at them both, and it hit the target!

Sandro stood up. “F-ck! Who is that?” he snarled. Sander stood up and scratched his head as well.

“There’s a flying ball!” exclaimed Sander, but Sandro hit him. I covered my mouth to stop giggling because they were going to fight.

Sandro came to a halt and looked at the twins. “Is that you, Eron?” asked Sandro. Eron shook his head and pointed to my place, causing them both to look at me.

I raised my brows after crossing my arms. Sandro and Sander’s eyes widened, and they averted their gaze.

“OMG! Scarlett!” Lux exclaimed when she saw me, so I nodded and looked at them before signaling them to come up to our suite to talk.

They followed me, but no one said anything. I grinned because I knew they’d explain it later. I frowned, as if there was someone missing.

“Where’s Claire?” I asked, as she appeared to be the only one I hadn’t seen today. They shrugged as they looked at each other.

Ara replied, “She said she was just at the gym.” I nodded, and we came to a halt in front of the elevator. I took a deep breath and turned to face them.

“You go first. I’ll see Claire. We need her as well,” I said. I heard it hurt Sander.

“Am I not good?” he wondered. We glared at him and hit him. We laughed at him because he scratched his head.

“I’ll be right back! Please tell Rios as well!” I exclaimed as I dashed away to the gym.

What is Claire doing there?

I was about to walk into the gym when I heard Claire scream. “Claire?” I frowned and looked inside, but my eyes widened when I saw the man who had dragged me away from Erin when they caught him again.

Claire looks like she knows the man. I just saw her get mad.

Claire yelled at the man, “I told you to stay away from Erin!” Because I heard Erin’s name, I frowned. I also noticed a connection between the two of them.

“I did what you said, Claire, because you threatened me,” said the man. Because of what I heard from them, my eyes widened and I covered my mouth.

What exactly did Erin do? Is he also aware of the man Claire is speaking with? I’m uncertain if we’ve ever met.

“I didn't threaten you, Ander! If you continue to approach him, you will only harm Erin—”

“Is it because I’m gay?”

Oh, my goodness… But how did he come to be the mastermind’s right-hand man? According to what I’ve heard, he’s a high-ranking member of Solen's group.

“Yes, you are filthy.”

“Stop it, Claire. Erin wants you. You don’t need to meet me for trivial reasons. Don’t worry, I’ll bring Erin back because I only have a limited amount of time.”

I couldn’t stop myself from interfering with their conversation. It surprised Claire when she saw me.

“Scarlet…”

I ignored her, and I turned to Ander.

“What do you mean? You are one of those with a prominent position in their group; how can I trust you?” I asked, and he sighed before closing the door.

“You must be wondering why I was in their place, and how I could betray Erin,” he grinned as he turned away from us. “They murdered my family,” he explained. Claire and I were shocked. “I thought Claire had something to do with it because she also threatened me,” he said, shaking his head, his fists clenched.

“An old man and a woman came to my apartment then, saying Perkins and Knight had something to do with what happened to my family because of my closeness to Eric Knight,” he said, and my eyes widened. F-ck?

“I believed in them, so they forced me to join them to become stronger to exact revenge on the Perkins and the Knights, but…” he sighed. “I realized that the Perkins and the Knights had nothing to do with what happened to my family, and I confronted them, but they hurt me, and they punished me for disrespecting their master.”

I held my forehead, since I didn’t think they were this disgusting. I’m uncertain if they’re insane or just evil. They even involved our family for their benefit.

“I wanted to go back to Erin and report to him, but I saw he was happy, and I also knew that he and Claire were in a relationship, so I didn’t bother them,” he said as we looked at Claire, who turned away from us. “I endured everything for what I wanted to do; I became a puppet to them, so they wouldn’t know what I was planning until I met Jaguar; Solen and Jaguar had an affair, but Jaguar had a fiancé...”

When I learned that Solen and Jaguar were having an affair, I cringed. Does he hit that old lady? It’s no surprise he prefers someone older than him.

“Solen even became obsessed with Jaguar and murdered his fiancée,” said Ander. I nodded because Jaguar’s secretary had told me that story.

“And he planned to exact revenge on all of them, so we agreed on our plan,” he bowed. “Jaguar pretended we weren’t close so no one would suspect us, but that broke when we caught Erin.” He said. “It surprised me to see Erin again, but I pretended I didn’t know him, so don’t worry, he’ll make it out alive,” he said, patting my shoulder as he walked away, but he looked at us.

“Don’t think about the festival. You know who the mastermind is. I only have a little time left, so expect to see Erin soon.” He grinned at me, and my eyes widened because his smiles were different. “Please tell him I’m sorry…” were his last words before leaving.

I was just stunned, and I did not know Claire had left my side. Fuck. It’s a disaster! I messed up my hair and left the gym to return to the suite to talk about the plans.
