Chapter 19: Chapter 19

Dominic’s eyes widened as he saw someone in his way, and he braked in fear he ran over him.

“F-ck!”

He hit the steering wheel because he has been through something, people whom have nothing to do in life will go along with it.

He yelled at the person who was blocking the road through the window of his car. “Hey! You almost run over!” he came to a halt when the person blocking the road was gone.

He frowned and narrowed his eyes because a car was blocking the middle of the road, but no one was in it. He cursed and exited his car because he didn’t have time to play with them.

“F-ck it.”

Dominic was about to walk towards the car in the middle of the road when the person hit him on the back of the neck and fell down.

“Damn,” he whispered as he grabbed his nape and looked around to see who had done this to him, but he couldn’t see because his vision was blurry.

“W-who are you…?” he asked, before losing consciousness.

The attacker smirked and picked him up to take him to the car, and he just laughed because his plan for the man had worked.

***

Dominic had just woken up, and his eyes widened when he realized it tied him to the chair.

“Damn it!”

He struggles with the rope, but the tightness only hurts him. “Damn!” he yelled, continuing to struggle, but nothing happened.

He was in a dark room with a light above him.

“F-ck! What do they need—Ugh!”

Dominic spat blood after the person punched him.

“Who are you? F-ck—”

He shook his head in pain after this person punched him again, and he vomited blood when it gave him another punch in the stomach.

His vision became blurry because of the punches he received, but he realized who had hit him.

He mentioned this person’s name as “R-Rios.”

The man grabbed Dominic’s hair and laughed. “Oops, I'm sorry. He ordered me to do it.” As Rios smirked, Dominic leaned back in his chair.

“Is this my punishment for the sins I committed?” he asked, groaned from the aching bruises.

“You’re right.”

When another familiar voice spoke up, it has caught him off guard.

“Carter.”

He bowed to accept his fate because what he did was a sin, and he was aware of the Knights’ law.

Scarlett had her law to follow, but she disobeyed it to go with Dominic, who made a mistake.

“I’m glad I only did mild things to you so you can still stand,” said Rios. Dominic winced at him because the young man appears to be proud of what he had done to him. He shook his head, as he was thankful for what he had received.

“You know Scarlett’s law, and you also know our family’s law; we were born to be fighters, not cowards and weak,” said Carter. Dominic bowed even more because everything he said was true.

Dominic knew the Knights were still in their kids and that it taught them how to talk to high-ranking officials and grow businesses. They are also taught not to be weak or foolish so that it does not look them down upon.

“You used your feelings to take advantage of Scarlett Venice Knight’s weakness; our world differs from other people, and Scarlett grew up in a different world, but you still took advantage of her feelings.”

Dominic laughed, knowing that even if it did not remind him of everything, he knew those things. He never forgets that Scarlett lives in a different world.

“I know all of that, but that’s also why Scarlett came with me,” said Dominic, his jaw clenched. “She will want to start her family away from your world, and she would rather not bring our children to the world you live in.”

Dominic closed his eyes as sweat flowed down his face.

“Maybe you’re right, but… You ruined it because of sin, and you broke her trust and her belief that you can keep her away from our world,” said Carter as he approached Dominic.

“You ruin her life,”

He punched Dominic, who fell to the ground, but Dominic just chuckled and closed his eyes to absorb all the punishment because he deserved it.

“F-ck.”

Dominic was stunned and opened his eyes to look at the situation, but he spotted Carter standing in front of him, who had already lit a cigarette because Carter wanted to stop harming him again.

“This is enough for now,” said Carter as he stroked his hair and looked at Dominic.

“I’ll give you one more chance to atone for your mistakes with Scarlett and your children, but if she would rather not come back to you…” Carter grinned and took a seat in front of Dominic.

“Stay away from her and her children, and I will also cut ties between your family and ours; do you agree?”

Dominic couldn’t say anything because he didn’t know what to say because Scarlett was still mad at him, and it would be difficult for him to make amends.

“Ticktock. Ticktock. Ticktock. Ticktock.”

He took a deep breath and gave Carter a serious look. “I will,” he said. “I will atone for all my sins.”

Carter grinned and patted Dominic on the back of the head. “All right, then it’s a wise choice.” he stood up and turned away. “I know he wants to see Scarlett, so take him to the mansion.”

Rios shook his head, knowing that his night would not be satisfying, but Carter stopped him.

“You ruined my night, my dear older cousin,” Rios murmured, and he's already helping Dominic to stand.  “Damn it, Scarlett will be furious.”

Dominic laughed because he knew Rios, aside from being mysterious, was the one who complained the most.

“Tell her we fought in the Arena, and I was the only one who lost,” said Dominic. Rios just shook his head, imagining Scarlett's menacing glare making him nervous.

Rios grimaced and said, “Never mind.”

Rios seemed to know that Scarlett wouldn’t believe their excuses, so Dominic laughed. He just shook his head because he has a plan to make up for everything, and he will go to any length to regain Scarlett’s trust.

Scarlett’s cousins greeted them as they arrived at the Knights’ mansion.

“Oh, my goodness!”

“What exactly did you do to him?”

“He deserved it!”

“F-ck! Scarlett is dangerous when she’s angry!”

Erin helped in carrying Dominic to Scarlett's room.

“Oh my god, Babe!”

It stunned them when Sophia came to see Dominic’s condition.

“Rios, what happened to Dominic?” asked Sophia, and she touched Dominic’s face to look at his bruises before turning her gaze back to Rios.

“What happened to him? Did you punish him?” Sophia scowled as Rios smirked at her.

“He deserves the full punishment for what he did, right? You know our law, Sophia,” said Rios to her, who remained silent because Sophia was also among those who disobeyed the law.

“Please, excuse us. He needs Scarlett, not you.”

Sophia’s eyes widened as she pursued them. “No! I’m his fiancé! It’s not his fault! It’s Scarlett's fault.” she yelled, blocking their path.

Dominic came to a halt and looked at Sophia. “Stop it. You’re not my fiancé anymore,” he said, motioning to Rios and Erin to let Sophia go because she didn’t help them either and will only cause them trouble.

They reached Scarlett’s room and opened the door.

“What are you doing here?”

Rios and Erin pushed Dominic into Scarlett’s room

“F-ck!” Dominic screamed as his bruises hurt, glaring at them, who just smirked at him. “Damn you!” he groaned, holding his waist as he felt the pain in his body.

“What happened to him?”

It amused him when Scarlett stood by him while reprimanding her cousins. He just smiled and gave the siblings a thumbs up because he and Scarlett could talk after what happened earlier.

“All right, all right! Bye! Good luck!” said Rios, raising his middle finger to Dominic, who just winced at them.

“Are you going to escape? I’m not done!”

Dominic covered his mouth to stop laughing because Rios and Erin didn’t want to listen to Scarlett any longer.

“We can talk later, Scarlett!” said Erin as he exited Scarlett’s room. Dominic shook his head because he had witnessed Scarlett's angry behavior.

“TSK. What will I do with you?” asked Scarlett, glaring at him, and he remained silent, afraid that Scarlett would kick him out.

Scarlett helped him to sit on the bed, so Dominic smiled and hugged Scarlett. It surprised her by what Dominic had done.

“You’re still worried about me,” said Dominic, wrapping his arms around Scarlett's waist. “I still love you, and I will do everything I can to make up for all my sins against you,”

Scarlett came to a halt, but all she did was sigh before removing Dominic's arm from around her waist.

“Stay here, and I’ll take care of your bruises.”

Dominic laughed and raised his gaze to the ceiling. “She still looks angry,” he said before falling asleep on Scarlett's bed.
