Chapter 13: Chapter 13
“W-what are you planning, huh?” I asked, punching him again, and he put me down, so I tried to escape, but he grabbed my hair.
“Where are you going?” he asked, smirking. I glared at him and struggled again in his grip. “Are you going to report? To whom? To your weak cousins?” he laughed. I just stared at him, and he was about to touch my face, which I avoided.
He's disgusting. I loathe him. I thought I could ask him to leave, but he doesn't know how to listen.
“What do you really need? Why do you need to involve our chairman?” I asked, but I stopped when I remembered something, so I turned to face him. “He's not your target! It's me!” I said, grabbing his arm and throwing him to the ground.
And I adjusted my clothes and combed my hair before returning my gaze to Gino. “Oh, I’m right, aren't I? The men won’t chase me if the chairman is the target.” I yelled at him, and grabbing his collar. “Why, huh? Why am I your target? How did you know I’m back?!?” I yelled, tightening my grip on his collar.
“Answer me!” I said, but I stopped when he just chuckled, and it surprised me, so I let go of him. There’s something strange about him. When I saw he was already on drugs, I took a step back.
“TSK,” Gino smirked, wiping his lips. “You want to know why I did that?” he asked, standing up, and I backed away. “Someone paid me to kill a Scarlett Knights, and they said you returned, so they hired me for their plan,” he said, and I was stunned.
What did he say? Someone paid him to plan the ambush in order to both alarm us and prove that I had returned. I laughed as I shook my head because I was right that I was their target, not the chairman.
“It’s not really chairman Knight, who is the target, but you,” he grinned, licking his lips once again. “I used him against you, but you killed my men,” he said as he smirked. I was stunned and fists clenched.
He used the chairman to get me to come, and my children were almost involved. I bit my lower lip in anger. I looked at him through my tears. “Don’t you realize what hypocrisy you've done to my family? My children are almost involved here! Then you’ll tell me they only paid you?” I asked and attacked him, but he dodged well.
“Ha… If you want to kill me, go straight to me, not my family! You will pay!” I said and was about to punch him when he grabbed my wrist. “Damn it! Let me go! Damn you all!” I screamed, kicking him, but he punched me so hard that I fell.
He held of my hair and lifted my head. “You’re just a weakling, Scarlet Knights,” he whispered, and slapped me, but I didn’t take it since if the glare was killing, he had a burial already.
“You are a disgrace to the Knight family. You are a worthless child, and a weak one,” he said as he laughed. I could taste the blood on my lips. I sucked it and spat it out. “That’s why your husband is cheating on you,”
I was stunned. How did he find out about it? Does he have any information about what happened to me?
“Maybe Mr. Stone was cheating on you because he doesn’t like a stupid and weak woman like you, and perhaps that’s why you’re replaced because you're worthless,” he laughed, as if he was enjoying what he was saying. “How come you’re chosen to take the throne? You can’t even escape from me,” he said, lifting my head to see my face but stopping when he saw my eyes.
Even though I could tell he was nervous, he just laughed. “You can’t scare me with your look, Scarlett; all you can do is accept your fate—”
“Are you done?” I asked. The tone of my voice took aback him, as was I.
He smirked. “We’re not even at the interesting part yet, Miss Knight,” he said. I just nodded and looked at him.
“It’s over,” I said, gripping his hand and forcing him to release his hand in my hair. I stood up after being free of him. “So, it's my turn, huh…” I smirked at him and raised my fist, as if I was about to give him an ultimatum punch.
I’m not certain why, but my vision went black, and I couldn’t think of anything else but killing him. “Are you willing to die for a loser like me, Young?” I smirked, and his eyes widened as he backed away.
I was about to punch him when I heard some noises.
“Scarlett!”
I came to a halt and blinked, looking at Young, who’s trembling on the floor, and lowered my fist as if I had awakened.
“Damn, what are you doing?”
When I turned back to see him rushing at Gino, I was in shock.
“Dominic…” I called out to him, but he ignored me and continued to rush at Gino, shocking me when he punched him. “D-Dominic…!” My eyes widened, and I pulled him back, but he just shook my hand and stared at me.
“You can fight, Scarlett, but what are you doing letting him touch you?” asked Dominic. I averted my gaze from his because I didn't know what to say.
“No, she can fight if we don’t interfere,” said Rios, leaning against the wall and smirking at me. Dominic refused to listen, and he was still angry.
“Enough, Dominic,” said Aaron, pulling him away, but Dominic ignored them.
Dominic approached me and shook me, asking, “You let him touch you, huh?!” I just shook my head at him. “You let this bastard!” he yelled at me, but I pushed him away.
“I said no!” I said, trembling. “You're no different from him!” I shouted at him. I just bowed and bit my lip because they were all stunned.
“Damn it!” he ran back towards Gino. “You! I will kill you, asshole! No one can touch her! No one!” said Dominic, punching Young so hard that his face almost bled.
My fists clenched, and I looked to my cousins to stop Dominic, but they all ignored me and just watched Gino get beaten up.
“Stop it, Dominic! We're getting attention!” I said, pulling him to a stop, but he didn’t, so I took a deep breath and hugged him to calm him down.
I understand his anger because I, too, am angered, but it might start leaking out in public, which is not a good image for anyone, especially my children. Customers may also leave.
“That’s enough, DOM—” I didn't finish what I was about to say when he yanked my hug away from him and stormed out of the restroom.
I only sighed, but someone put a jacket over my shoulder. “Allow me to drive you home, Ven,” Hill said. I nodded, and he escorted me exiting the restroom.
As I looked at him, I shook my head. He didn’t listen to me when I asked him to leave. Whatever happens to him, he deserves it. He did this because they paid him to do it. I turned away and followed Hill.
“Bring Venice home, bro. We’ll take care of this jerk. We’ll play with him,” said Eron as he smirked.
“Oh, yeah! I miss playing!” said Arthur, and the four of them joined in, except for Hill and Rios, who shook their heads.
“No one can touch our little princess, asshole.”
Hill was helping me out of the restroom with his arm around me when I noticed many people whispering and staring at me.
“Don’t worry, you won’t be involved in this. Please continue your party!” He said, and I noticed our customers exhale a sigh of relief and continue to enjoy themselves here at the bar.
I ran into my secretary, who informed my cousins that I hadn’t returned to the office, so I thanked her and left the bar to her.
“No problem, president! Get some rest and take care,” said Lisa. I just smiled at her and walked straight to the parking lot with Hill.
“Are you okay?” asked Hill, while he fastened my seatbelt, I just smiled and nodded at him. “TSK. Why didn’t you say Young was there?” he asked. I turned to face him.
“I don’t want trouble, Hill,” was all I said, so he just shook his head and started the car's engine, driving.
“If brother Carter finds out what happened to you, it'll be a big mess,” he said, shaking his head. “It’s a good thing your secretary looked for you because you haven’t returned to your office yet, so we wondered and started looking for you, but Dominic suddenly came in and said he heard from another employee that a man picked you up,” he said. I bowed and bit my lower lip.
“H-Hill, did you notice me earlier?” I asked, bowing. He came to a halt and looked at me.
“What Rios said? I’m not certain, but… I noticed your eyes… They were empty, and—” he came to a halt and shook his head.
I looked at him, awaiting what he would say next, but he sighed and smiled. “Just rest first. I know you’re tired,” he said. I shrugged because he didn't want me to know his thoughts on what had happened to me earlier.
Furthermore, I just leaned back and smiled. “Do we have other enemies besides those who betrayed our family?” I asked, remembering what Gino had said. He only frowned.
“What do you mean? Did Gino say something to you?” asked Hill. I shook my head and gazed out the window.
He laughed and messed up my hair. “Oh, f-ck! They’re furious at Young for touching Carter Knight’s princess.” he said as he teased me. I glared at him, but he just grinned, and I returned my gaze to the window.
When I remembered what had happened earlier, I was also terrified of Dominic. His eyes were dangerous as he beat Young in that way. He intended to kill him. I only saw Dominic so angry in the few years I lived with him in the same house. I never thought I would see him at the bar.
But… It’s a good thing they came because I’m not sure what I would have done if they hadn’t. I looked at my hands and clenched them; I’m not certain why I felt hot earlier… F-ck. I want to go home.

AARON’s POV
“Hurry! I’m impatient!” said my twin. I gave him a death stare.
“We’re done if you’re helping us, but you’re just standing there!” I yelled at him as we picked up Young, who was unconscious.
“Stupid!” said Aiden as he poked Eron, my twin, who I’m not sure where he got that behavior from. TSK.
“Hah, sorry twin. I was just getting excited about my punching bag,” said Eron. I simply stared at him, and we made Young sit down and bound his entire body, including his hands and feet.
Who told him he could touch our Venice? Damn him, but thanks to us, he’ll only have mild pain, but if Carter is here… Young might hang upside down because he caused harm to our Venice.
Scarlett is the only one of our female cousins that we keep. Because they told us Scarlett is a miracle and that she is important to grandma, which we don’t mind because we love Venice. Because she is a lovely woman.
She and Sophia are the opposite. Sophia irritates me because when we all found out Scarlett had gone missing, she was the only one who’s happy for us all, and who don’t worry even if it’s her sister.
She was also the one who told us Venice went with the man, but we didn’t believe it except for Lux and our parents, who still believed in Sophia.
