Chapter 12: Chapter 12
SCARLETT'S POV
Dominic found why I left without telling him a few days ago. Maybe that’s all he can know because I would rather not give my children hope that their long-broken family will rebuid.
Dominic constantly looks for my kids when he visits the mansion, but I don’t let him near them. And I know my children are aware of the situation.
Am I selfish for what I did? I don’t want my children to suffer in the end. I’ll be the only one who suffers, but don’t let them. Sophia could also hurt my children again, which I cannot allow happening.
And I don’t want any trouble because I came home for my family, not our past.
I just held my head because I didn’t know what else to do. I’m not sure what I can do to protect everyone. In addition, I also spent time at work with my children. Nothing else came to mind but my responsibilities as a daughter and a mother.
Dominic approached me several times, but I kept walking away. Because I have the feeling that Sophia is watching my every move, and I’m not certain why. Maybe she’s afraid that I’ll take Dominic away from her, or that she’s guilty of the sin she committed.
I just sighed and didn’t feel like to watch our customers go crazy.
“Ven!”
I turned to face the person who had called my name, and my eyes widened as I saw my cousins approaching.
“This is the perfect spot for us!” Arthur exclaimed, nodding and looking at my bar. I just smiled at him and avoided looking at them because they might ask what was going on with me and Sophia.
“Nice! I can find a girl!” exclaimed Aaron. I winced because I knew exactly why they were here. Furthermore, I just sighed and shook my head.
Eron grinned and laughed loudly. “You're too old, AE!” exclaimed Eron, making my cousins laugh. I just covered my mouth to stop laughing, but it didn’t seem to help. Except for my brother Carter, Erin, and me, who are the youngest, their ages are only about a year apart.
Aaron hit his twin. “Damn you! I’m stronger than you!” he yelled at his twin, who laughed at him.
I just shook my head and smiled at them. They are too old, but refuse to find a sensible woman. And, although I have a child, they are still looking for a girl, TSK.
I rolled my eyes at them. “Order what you want,” I told them. Their eyes widened, but they also screamed because of the free alcohol. I think one of the reasons they are here is to receive free alcohol. TSK.
They’re even wealthier than I am, or maybe they just want trouble here. Claire used to tell me that my cousins used to get into fights in the bars they visited just because of the girls. As a result, they were sometimes blocked from entering a pub. TSK. I don’t want any trouble in our business because it could cost us customers, so I will completely ban them.
I looked at my cousins and noticed that they were getting busy, so I told them that I would go around the entire bar first, and they nodded, so I just patted Hill on the shoulder, and he rubbed my hand before I walked out, but… I was taken aback when I noticed someone.
He seemed familiar to me, and I couldn't be wrong. I know him well.
I looked at my cousins, who were laughing and talking to women, and I looked at someone I knew.
I knew it. If my cousins see him, there will be a considerable commotion here at the bar. I’m uncertain if I can stop them, especially since I know my cousins won’t let their opponents stand when there’s trouble.
I looked at my cousins again and noticed Rios looking at me, so I waved and smiled at him. But he just smirked and gave me a flying kiss, and I winced and shook my head before going to that person's place, which is a private area.
He can’t get away from me. In our family, he still has a lot of sin. I clenched my fists and came to a halt in front of them and his woman. Gino's staff became alert, so I glared at them until they were stunned.
“Mr. Young,” I said. He and his girlfriend came to a halt and turned to face me.
He raised an eyebrow at me and narrowed his eyes as he tried to remember who I was. “Who the hell are you?” he asked.
I simply smiled and raised an eyebrow at him. “Who am I?” I also asked. I smiled because he just frowned. “I’m the owner,” I said. He came to a halt and stared at me, but I turned away.
“Ah! I know you.” he exclaimed, as if he recognized me. “Scarlett Knight,” he said, and my smile disappeared, and I glared at him.
“Yes, my name is Scarlett Knight,” I answered. I was surprised when he grinned and whispered to the woman next to him, and the woman abruptly left. What does he intend to do?
“What does a Scarlett Knight require of me?” he asked, smiling as he poured the wine. My fists were clenched because I had no idea his face would show up here after what he had done.
Isn’t he aware that my cousins have just arrived? Because I’m not sure what they can do when they see him. I looked over at my cousins, who were still focused on their conversation. So, I’ll just let them, and finish it myself to avoid any problems.
There are too many people here, and we will only draw attention to other people; I will not cause any further issues for the chairman.
I glared at him, annoyed, while he continued to drink happily. “Leave while I’m still calm,” I said. But he just laughed, which made my fists tighten even more. “Just leave, Mr. Young. There are many people here today, and I would rather not cause any trouble,” I explained. He laughed once more and raised his hands.
“Woah! Easy! Chill!” he said, raising his glass. “Why don’t you come with me here first? I still want to meet the youngest of the Knights,” he said as he poured me some wine.
“I don't have time to play with you; please leave, so there's no trouble,” I said. He just smirked, as if he didn't hear me.
I don’t want trouble right here at my bar. I don’t want people here to be afraid, and also don’t want my cousins to know that Gino is here because I can’t stop them. So while everything is still okay, I’ll just finish it.
“Miss Knight, this is an invitation from me to invite you to a drink because I just want to get to know you; I’m sure you won't refuse me, right?” he said, smiling. I sighed deeply.
“Mr. Young, you know you still have a sin with the Knights, don’t you? And you have the courage to drink here,” I said, shaking my head. He came to a halt, and his smile faded. “So just leave while it’s still early because I don’t want any trouble here in my business,” I said.
I breathed deeply. “Leave now,” I said, turning away from him, but he grabbed my hair. My eyes widened, and I hit his hands, but he only tightened his grip on my hair. “F-ck you! Let me go!” I yelled as I slapped his hands.
“Shut up!” he yelled, and I raised my head to stare at him. “What can a Scarlett Knight do?” he asked, smirking. He licked his lips, so I swallowed, still trying to break free from his grip.
I took a deep breath and kicked him in the lower part of his body, causing him to release me while I fixed my clothes and hair.
“You didn’t fight just any Knight, Gino. He's not just any Knight. He's our chairman!” I yelled angrily, glaring at him. “Maybe you don’t realize it, but the chairman is the reason you and your family are still alive today; without him, where would you be today, huh?” I asked. I kicked him and choked him.
“I told you to leave, but you didn’t,” I said, tightening my grip on his neck. “I’m sending you away not because I'm worried about you, but because I feel sorry for you; my cousins are only there because if they find out you're here, you might not see the sun again,” I said as I walked away.
“Leave!” I yelled, and I saw his fists clenched, but I walked away to rejoin my cousins because if they found out I hadn’t returned, they would look for me. I returned my gaze to Gino. “Remember everything I told you,” I said as I turned to leave, but I was surprised when he grabbed my arm.
“Who told you could leave?” he asked, and I frowned as I took my arm away from his grasp. “I don’t care if your cousins are here because they won't be able to help you if I keep doing what I'm going to do to you; they're useless.” he smirked at me, but I glared at him and tried to take my arm back.
I screamed, “Let go!” but he only tightened his grip on my arm. “You really don't know how to listen!” I bit my lower lip as I felt his nails dig into my skin. F-ck.
I looked around and saw the bottle, so I reached for it. Damn it. I didn’t stop until I reached it, and carefully holding the bottle while looking at Gino, who was smirking at me. My grip on the bottle tightened, and I hit him on the head, causing him to let go.
“F-ck you, Scarlett!” he yelled, holding his head. I took another look at the bottle and smacked it on his head. “Damn you, woman!” he yelled, and I noticed he was bleeding.
I rubbed my hair as I let go of the bottle. “Maybe you’ll wake up now,” I said as I turned away from him, but before I could take a step…
He grabbed me and punched me, and the impact of his punch caused my eyes to widen, and I vomit a blood.
I just grabbed my stomach, glared at him, and ran away from him because the pain was too much for me. He pulled me and carried me away.
My eyes widened. “Let go of me, Mr. Young!” I screamed, hitting him, but he just laughed. My eyes widened as Gino’s staff blocked off the entire area so no one could see what we were doing.
Sh-t. My cousins will know whatever he does, especially since I haven't returned to their place yet.
I was punching Gino and trying to knock him down, but he was too strong for me. I can fight him, but I’m weak right now because of what he did to me.
“Put me down.” I yelled, but he didn’t seem to hear me, and his behavior changed.
When we entered the restroom, my eyes widened suddenly. I have a bad feeling about what is going to happen next. Oh, god.
