Chapter 53: Chapter 53
All of a sudden, Detective Taylor frowned when he saw from the side of his eye that Inspector Roosen was pulling off her jacket.
"What are you doing?" Detective Taylor had to ask.
" Give me that!" Inspector Roosen beckoned instead, pointing at detective Taylor.
Detective Taylor looked down to where she was pointing and couldn't help but raise a brow realizing.
" My shirt?" Sometimes, It gets very difficult for detective Taylor to understand how inspector Roosen reasoned.
" Tsk! be quick about it!" She urged. Detective Taylor shrugged and quickly took off his jacket and shirt, handing the latter over to the inspector.
" On the contrary, I'm going in to confirm something." the inspector said as she put on Detective Taylor's shirt that was quite baggy for her body frame.
" What?!" The detective couldn't help but exclaim in disbelief. Going in there was equivalent to roaming amidst the enemies. Their car had been out here for so long that detective Taylor wouldn't doubt if they had been noticed but were just ignored.
It simply is dangerous to step out of this very car and go in the nightclub, which is but a cover for a grander illicit scheme.
After having heard the name of the real culprit, --, Kash had not much of an idea whom the person was but he confessed he'd heard the name from someone he knew, and that was Heath Wolfe. Kash said the night club was where they could find Heath as he worked there. After hours of trying to find Heath, they resorted to waiting for him to show up at the nightclub. And of course, he showed up.
" You heard me right Taylor. Wait on my command. We'll have the force raid this place. I have a feeling there's some illegal underworld business going on underneath the whole nightclub charade" She said as she pulled rolled up the sleeves of detective Taylor's shirt. She left quite a few buttons open, leaving her cleavage in view.
" Excuse me if I do not meet your expectations" She said to detective Taylor who stared at a loss at her pointed chest.
" What the- I mean... be careful" The detective shook his head and said seriously. Jokes aside this was a very serious situation.
Inspector Roosen didn't joke around anymore and just nodded her head before stepping out of the car. She headed towards the club in staggered steps in her wedged boots after messing up her short hair.
The bouncers let her in without causing any trouble or asking who she was.
Not that they were not doing what they were supposed to, but that it'd be hard for anyone who wants to expose them to do anything without jeopardizing their own very lives. Besides, these bodyguards didn't know much about the place other than it being a nightclub.
' So it is more like a come in as a cop with intent to tamper with them at your own risk. you can easily get in, but once they catch whiff of you being a spy, you can't get out.'
Inspector Roosen got in the nightclub and smoothly fitted in the place with this thought in mind. She worked more like an undercover agent, as she scoped the area in search of Heath.
Soon she caught sight of him by the bar counter top making a call, his actions showing that he was in an argument with the other person on the phone.
Inspector Roosen decided to get closer to make out the situation.
" I'm coming home soon okay! Just let me do what I have to do and I'll be back!" Heath seemed to yell at the phone and cut the call just as inspector Roosen drew near the bar.
" Fucking hell!" He cursed and walked towards the stairs.
" Can I have a glass of margarita?" Inspector Roosen requested as she took a seat. She turned around and watched as Heath got to the stairs where the DJ stood playing party jams. Heath walked behind the DJ and seemed to speak with two bulky men who were without doubt bouncers. After talking with them for a while, Inspector Roosen saw Heath being let in through the curtain.
" Here you go, miss" The bartender called. Inspector Roosens realizing she might be doing too much looking around acted startled and smiled as if drunk and fancying Heath to the bartender. She had to get that suspicious look she was giving her off of his face as he was probably the one who whiffs out the spies in the party.
The latter just sighed and shook his head, mistaking the inspector for he women that he sees every day being all drunk to stupor and lusty.
' Yes, think like that ' Inspector Roosen lampooned in her mind as she took a large gulp of her drink.
...
In the private room that Bob had rented with Mae.
Bob slowly walked over to the sofa and just took a seat right before the stripper who seemed baffled.
" Who are you again? I can't remember every client you know?"
" First, are you being watched?" Bob leaned close to ask in a low tone.
The stripper seemed surprised as her lips drew apart, she let out a shocked gasp before saying,
" Yes!"
Bob flashed a grin and beckoned with a finger for her to come closer in a seductive manner.
This was to put off the surveillance to think he was Mae's usual customer. The latter didn't waste any time as she slowly and sensually crawled into Bob's laps to curl and snake around in a dance.
" There are cameras around" she whispered to him. Bob nodded discreetly to show he understood her.
" Richardson... I suppose you know who I am by now... Now I understand you have reasons to not want to listen to me ... But this is in the interest of both you and I" Bob recounted to her ears whenever she got close to him.
The young stripper seemed to calm herself after hearing this.
Mae smiled and quickly got up, she stretched her legs forward on Bob's lap and moved back to the table in a swift turn to twirl around the pole with a seductive appeal in her moves and her face.
Bob only wanted to talk with her. But now he realized might only have been adding to his own problems.
Nonetheless, he didn't say nor do nothing to stop Mae, even as she slowly climbed on his laps and wrapped her hands around his neck.
" What do you want, Mr Bob?" She whispered to his ears. Only now did he realize what she was playing at all this while. She had been trying to avoid suspicion all along.
Mae was the girl whom Courtney had set up with Bob to use as an evidence in court of his infidelity. She'd suddenly brought the girl home one day to babysit Courtney and had said she was leaving for business.
Bob was home that day and had nowhere really important to go, so he had no complaints. He retired to his room and worked on some paper.
Only for him to see Mae come into his room and start trying to seduce him. Bob tried to ask what she was doing but before he knew it, Mae kissed him and clung unto him like crazy.
Fortunately, Bob was able to push her away, but what he didn't know was that the kiss was enough for Courtney. She'd prior planted a camera in his room and had giving the footage as evidence of his infidelity to the court. Though it was less sufficient since she didn't have a footage of him doing the act, the doubt was already created.
Bob studied Mae's face as she rose and danced on his lap without saying anything until she leaned in again, placing her ear next to his mouth, she bit her lip seductively.
" You and I both know we never did anything that day. So appear in court as a witness for me. We never really had anything together remember?" Bob said.
Mae was stunned for a second and it seemed that she had heard something impossible. She moved back to look at Bob for a while. It was a reflexive action, and she knew she needed to do something to cover her action in order to avoid suspicion. So she slowly took off the hook of her bra.
She ground her hip on Bob's lap as she started to dance again.
Bob understood everything that was going on. It was so awkward that he wanted to just get her off his lap and have a talk. But this was the only way they could really talk.
He was only here because the major and first cheating allegations Courtney had blamed on him was that he'd slept with Mae whom she'd set up with him.
All staged by Courtney!
Thankfully, he never did anything with her. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was how was he to prove this? he had no audio nor visual evidence so he had to resort to pleading her to help him.
" You do realize who that woman is right? I could get killed!" The worry in the girls voice was evident even though she whispered. She was more alerted than ever.
Bob was at a loss for words for a second. What she'd just said was true about Courtney, an unfortunate truth he'd just recently discovered about her. But he persisted nonetheless
" Don't worry. I'll have you relocate and reward you handsomely if you're gonna tell the truth in court" Bob persuaded. " And you don't have to worry about her till the trial day. She doesn't know anything nor would she ever think that I would come to you for help. Not this way" Bob added.
' Courtney would be thinking he probably was still arrested being a suspect for the murder of Adam Mash.
Mae was apprehensive at first as she only continued with the lap dance for a long while, quite in an awkward manner. She was obviously giving Bob's words a thought.
Soon after she leaned in again and said.
" Three hundred K in dollars... and a visa to a country of my choice" Mae proposed.
She'd only played as a set up back then because the Don had ordered it. She was only given a thousand dollars for that. If Bob was the real deal, then she could as well make a pay for herself and make away with it.
Bob looked at her with a determined gaze and nodded. He pushed her from his laps gently, and rose up from his seat as if he were done with her.
" It was a pleasure as always!" He said and left swiftly.
Mae still unsure whether she'd done the right thing or the wrong thing stared at a point for a long while. However, she noticed something on the seat where Bob had prior sat in before.
He's dropped his mobile phone!
