Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Khushi's P.O.V.
Entering the office room, aunty spoke up, "Khushi, it's great. You came. I went to your house to meet you. But your brother just said you don't leave there anymore. I asked about your address but he didn't give me."
I spoke up being confused, "I am married now aunty. But why did you want to meet me? And what are the kids saying?"
Aunty spoke up, "First you tell me what's the matter? Why is this happening all of a sudden?"
I was getting more confused as I spoke up, "Aunty I am not getting you. What are you referring to?"
Aunty spoke up making me more confused, "Khushi, wasn't this Orphanage willed on your name by your Ammi? Then why is Kowshik claiming it as his own? Did you handover it to him?"
I was being totally clueless about all the talkings of Aunty and kept staring at her blankly.
Aunty also got startled seeing me like that but getting herself together in few moments, she spoke up again, "Why are you being like this? Didn't you know this already?"
I couldn't get to utter anything and just shook my head. I mean I knew the orphanage was built in the supervision of Ammi but didn't know it was willed on my name.
Giving me a confused look, aunty spoke up, "You didn't know! What about the company then?"
Not getting a single thing, I uttered, "Which company?"
Aunty spoke up in an obvious tone, "Which company! I am talking about Malik Industries. After your Ammi, you were supposed be the rightful owner."
Whatever aunty was going on uttering, nothing was going through my mind.
Then aunty spoke up again, "Khushi, you can handle that later but dear, please help me out with the orphanage. I am all tired of trying to convince Kowshik. He is not even ready to listen to me. He is selling this Orphanage. Where will I go with these kids! Please dear. Do something."
Getting myself together, I managed to ask her, "Aunty, from whom do you get to know all these?"
She spoke up with an obvious tone, "Your Ammi. I thought you knew this all along. That's why you still come here and spend time with kids.
You might not remember but when you were little, your Ammi brought you here often. You used to play and spend time with the kids back then too. Your ammi used to say after her, you will take care of this Orphanage. She willed her everything on your name."
Hearing all this, I just kept staring at Aunty all blankly for a while whereas Aunty was giving me a pleading look. Then giving her a nod, I stood up.
A paper on the table came to my sight then. As some words caught my attention, I took it in hand and forwarded to meet him while thinking in mind, "Is it the only reason, they let me stayed there! Just because they could get the sign from me when turned of the required age. Whatever they want to do with the company, they can. I don't care. But I won't let them be likewise with the orphanage too. Enough is enough. I always felt like homeless though I had one because of them. But I won't let this happen to these kids. They won't be homeless."
I forwarded to get a taxi but then I remembered Arhaan and Esha waiting for me at the restaurant as I looked towards the park. Taking out my phone from the purse, I called Arhaan.
Completing my say when I was about to cut off the line, my phone got switched off by itself indicating battery has run out of charge.
I thought of taking Arhaan with me to talk to him but at last dropped the idea thinking it's my fight and I can't be always dependant on Arhaan for all the things.
Though I was sure I won't be able to get them agreed to me with the way they were but I must try to do it alone at first.
Putting the phone back in the purse, I took a taxi and forwarded towards my place considering they must be at home this time.
When I entered home, no I shouldn't call it home, right?
It was never home for me.
When I entered there, Vai was sitting in the living room with abbu and they were happily gossiping. Abbu got a call and forwarded upstairs.
Vai was also about to go upstairs but getting the sight of me, he stopped.
He was looking for someone around me.
While saying, "I came alone.", I got near him only to get vai uttering, "And why is so? You should have bring your husband or vai with you."
I didn't get what he meant nor did I bother to get that instead I forwarded the documents towards vai and spoke up, "What is it?"
Vai glanced at the paper and uttered in a deadly tone, "Don't you dare to meddle in our business things Khushi."
For the first time in my life, I spoke up all coldly to him, "What will you do of that place? After making the kids homeless, what do you just want to do? Where are those kids supposed to go then?"
Vai spoke up in a casual tone, "Why would I bother to know that! That's not my business."
I kept staring at him blankly for a while and then I spoke up making a disgusted face, "How can you lose your humanity to this point?"
As I completed my word, a tight slap fell on my right cheek. The place was just burning. But I didn't bother about it as it was nothing new.
Vai spoke up then, "Khushi, mind your tongue. Just because you have those people with you, don't think I will tolerate your this nonsense. Just get lost from here. We don't need you anymore."
After getting slapped, I turned to him and spoke up sternly, "Was I ever needed to you people? Except my sign!"
As I spoke up glaring at vai, he got startled at first but in no moment when he was about to utter again, I spoke up with the same tone, "It's not your business things! The orphanage was of Ammi. After her, it's mine.
Who are you to send them this notice to vacant that place and how dare you?"
Vai was staring at me getting all shocked and I spoke up again, "Give me the paper of the orphanage."
He then laughed out as if I cracked a very funny joke and uttered deadly at last, "Yours? Yes, once it was but now it's mine. I will do whatever I want to do with it. You just leave and don't ever come here. You understand? Just Leave..."
Saying that, before I could say anything, he left from there.
I knew this. There was no way for him to listen to me however I try.
"But I can't lose hope like this. The lives of kids depend on it and also I can't fail Ammi.
I need to get that paper of the orphanage from him anyhow. I need to talk to Arhaan." Thinking like this, I forwarded towards home.
When I reached home, Arhaan was walking just outside of the entrance of the house. I reached him taking faster steps and forwarded the notice to him.
But he started shouting at me. Hearing him, I realised may be I have gotten marks on my cheek. That was not on my mind.
Whatever happened earlier and remembering his devilish smile, I didn't get to say him vai. Or perhaps in my heart I already decided not to consider him a brother anymore.
Thinking all this, I uttered blankly, "Kowshik Malik."
As I uttered his name, Arhaan's expression turned to a glaring one. He asked me with the same tone, "Where did you meet him? And why?"
"I went to his house to meet him." as soon as I completed saying this, Arhaan uttered angrily, "What?"
When I looked at him sadly, he spoke up, "And why is so Khushi? Even if it was something important, you should have told me and taken with you."
As I got uttering, "Arhaan, you know Ammi willed her everything on my name. They took everything from me without even bothering to tell me about the will.", Arhaan spoke up, "So you went to get that back!"
"I don't care about the company but I want it." saying this, I again forwarded the documents paper to him.
This time he took the paper from me. After reading it when he turned to me, I spoke up, "Ammi made the orphanage. She wanted me to handle that. That's mine. I know I have already signed the legal documents and handed everything over to them but I want it back by any means."
As I continued saying all this, Arhaan kept staring at me and then turned to that paper as he uttered glaring to that, "It will be back" and then looking up at me, "To it's rightful owner."
Arhaan's P.O.V.
I got closer to Khushi after saying, "It will be back to it's rightful owner."
As I placed my hand on the red spot of her right cheek, she just closed her eyes as she hissed in pain.
I removed my hand at once while saying, "I am sorry."
She looked at me with a little bit of smile and uttered, "It's nothing Arhaan. I am used to it." which made me grip my hand tightly in anger.
But I didn't say anything then rather holding her hand, I entered the house. Vai and api were sitting in the living room. May be waiting for Khushi.
Seeing us, both of them forwarded towards us and Api spoke up, "Khushi, dear why did you stay back alone? If you had some work, you should have.."
At this point, Api got stopped looking at the red spot on Khushi's cheek. Her concerned expression turned to glaring one in no minute. Then she turned to me and I just gave her a simple nod.
Turning to Khushi, I spoke up, "Go to our room."
Smiling a little bit to them, Khushi left for our room and Api uttered coldly as she kept staring as Khushi walked towards our room, "Who was it? Who dared to touch her?"
"Kowshik."
Hearing me, api made an disgusted face and was about to utter something but before that, I spoke up sternly, "Don't you worry Api. I will make sure that he curse that moment and even himself for touching her."
Saying that as I turned to Vai, he also nodded with a cold expression. Then I forwarded towards our room only to get stopped at the staircase.
Thinking of something, I entered the kitchen. I prepared a icepack and taking that, I forwarded towards our room.
Entering the room, I looked all around only to find Khushi sitting by the poolside. Getting near her, I uttered her name only to get her all startled.
Sitting by her side, I spoke up, "Where were you lost?"
She kept staring at me for some moments and then spoke up, "I was thinking if nothing was willed on my name, what they would have done to me. Leaving me at any Orphanage or on road? Would they have let me be even ali..!"
Being unable to handle it, I spoke up, "Stop it. Don't think over the past. Didn't you say you want to start afresh? Then you just do it. Leave the rest on me. I will handle it in my way."
Hearing me, she smiled a little. I hold the icepack on her cheek then. She tried to hold that only to get stopped as I uttered, "Stay still." in an ordering tone.
After few minutes, she spoke up, "It's okay now, Arhaan."
I put the icepack aside then and we two kept sitting on the bench silently for a while. Khushi kept staring at the moon and then all of a sudden, she put her head on my shoulder.
Though I got shocked but I didn't utter anything as I was feeling happy too at the same time. When I looked at her after few minutes, her eyes were closed. In moonlight, she was looking so pretty that I kept staring at her face.
Though she was looking beautiful but there was something on her face like she was all tired.
The reason was also not unknown to me now. The determination of mine got more firmed and I thought in mind, "Kowshik, I thought of letting you go but you dared to touch my girl again. So now I just can't. You wanna do business, right? Okay, let's do some business then..."
