Arhaan's P.O.V.

At the party when suddenly Khushi held my arm, I smiled a little but when I saw Khushi's face, I got confused. In no moment the smile got replaced with a glare as I saw Khushi's family entering the hall room.

As they kept getting near us, Khushi's hold on my arm got tightened and I could easily feel it was out of fear but at the same time I was happy strangely.

I put my hand on her hand while giving a nod to her. While trying to assure her that nothing to worry as I was there with her, I spoke up, "What are you worrying about when I am right beside you!"

I didn't know if Khushi got my word well though she smiled a little.

Getting forward, Muhib Vai spoke up, "It's great. That you two came."

I smilingly added to that, "Indeed."Giving us a smiling look, Khushi's father turned to Khushi and spoke up, "How are you, Khushi?"

As Khushi answered, "I am fine.", her face was all blank.

My blood just boiled up at the thought that how could a father be like that to get his daughter felt all uneasy with just his presence.

Rather the case should be totally opposite.

Isn't it!

Uncle and Api kept talking to them on some random stuffs.

Then some business clients came up to us and Vai and me got busy with them. After a while when I turned to Khushi, she was with her so called family alone whereas Uncle and Api was talking to someone a little away.

I didn't know what her brother was telling her but with Khushi's face, I could easily understand it wasn't something good.

"Vai, I will be right back.", saying this, I forwarded towards Khushi.

By the time I reached there, her brother was done with his talking and I heard Khushi uttering, "Vai, I didn't."

Seeing me, both of them smiled and her brother was about to utter something but I spoke up turning to Khushi before that, "Khushi, Api is calling you."

May be luck was also on my side as right then api turned to us and spoke up, "Khushi, dear will you come here for some moment?"

Khushi looked at me and I directed her towards Api smilingly. Giving her family a look, she forwarded towards Api.

When she got at a quite distance, I stood straight in front of my so called near ones and spoke up, "Is everything going alright with your business?"

Before they could utter anything, I uttered again smilingly, "Be careful while doing from anything to everything from now. I mean anything can happen when it has to happen, right? You never know when your upside turns down." only to get the smile of their faces vanished in the thin air.

When I found them looking at Khushi, I uttered, "Don't worry about her. She will be fine and happy here forgetting other things and without bothering to know all other things."

They gave me a shocking look. Maybe they understood that enough of their wrongdoings got into my knowledge.

Right then Muhib Vai got there and after glancing at me, he got the situation and spoke up smilingly, "Mr. Malik, you know me well, right? I don't really get into others' things nor I allow any bullshit in my things but somehow it got in. So I cannot just allow it, you know. So just let's call it off. And I just hope you won't try to make me get at that again as things will be troublesome then not for me though."

Their jaw dropped and they didn't even utter anything. But when I saw Kowshik giving Khushi a glaring look after a while, I was about to utter something but got stopped as Vai spoke up.

"Don't do that Kowshik. You know Khushi didn't have a brother before but here she has one now. Me.. And I just can't handle it when my sister is getting glared at that's even in front of me. So just don't bother doing it unless you are ready to face the consequences."

Right then we heard Khushi uttering, “Vai?”

We turned to her only to know who she was referring as Vai. When we got she was calling Muhib Vai only, a smile crept on Vai's lips as he spoke up turning to “Kowshik, See, my sister."

Vai left from there saying, “Coming, sweetie.”

I spoke up then, “I won't force you two to stay here any longer now as you are already so busy. Thanks for visiting by the way.”

They glanced at Khushi for once and then left from there.

Then I also joined my family. Looking all around, Api spoke up, “Where is Khushi's family?”

I spoke up pointing at us, “Here..” only to get her smiling but when she spoke up again, "Of course, it's her family too but I am asking about", interrupting her at this point, I spoke up, "They left getting some important things to handle."

Api gave me a questioning look as she uttered, "But vai, they didn't even meet Khushi before leaving!"

I spoke up sternly, "Leave that api. And from now on it's Khushi's only family."

I didn't know what api got but she smiled at me. And before I could say something, one of our business clients came to me as he uttered my name, “Mr. Mahmud?”

I turned to him and got busy with our business talks as Api left after greeting him.

By the time our party got over, it was quite late. But getting freshen up, I sat in the living room with Vai. After sometime Api also joined us.

Seeing her when we two got silent, she spoke up, “It's something about Khushi's family, right? You two don't need to hide it from me. I knew they were not good to Khushi from long back."

Hearing Api, Vai and me glanced at each other and then I spoke up, “How did you get to know it, Api?"

Api spoke up then, "It was obvious from the very beginning of our meeting. Just at the mention of family, the smile on her face used to flee away. On the mention of the word brother, she used to get all teary. Though I was confused at first but when I visited her place after that party night, everything got crystal clear to me. You know, Kowshik was questioning on Khushi's character and when Khushi tried to defend herself while crying, he almost slapped her.”

As Api kept saying all these, Vai and me kept all silent finding nothing to say. Then something came to my mind and I kept thinking, “What was she planing to do then to stop this marriage that even by asking me to say yes for that!"

Api spoke up again after sometime, “And look Khushi didn't even ask about them nor felt sad as they left without talking to her. Like it's pretty normal.”

I spoke up then angrily, “Or maybe she is just used to it."

Vai spoke up then, “Forget it. She is with us now. And we will take care of her. Right, Arhaan?”

I spoke up, “Of course. I" only to get stopped at this point as I saw vai and api looking at me strangely.

When I uttered, “What?", Api spoke up smilingly, “By the way the saree was beautiful, Vai.”

“Which saree?", Vai uttered confusingly looking at Api only to get her utter again, “The saree Arhaan brought for Khushi today.”

“Oh I see. You went for shopping for Khushi then. But didn't you say you were going for a meeting only?" Vai uttered teasingly.

I got uttering, “I didn't go for shopping, Vai. I just happened to see that saree and.." only to stop seeing the expression on their faces.

I stood up immediately while letting out a sigh and spoke up, "You two will never change." and left for my room.

Entering my room, I found Khushi sleeping but she was in a sitting position with a book in hand.

Taking the book from her hand, I put that on the table. Then I made her lie properly on bed while trying not to disturb her sleep. Putting a comforter properly on her, I also got on the bed on my side.

I kept staring at Khushi's peacefully sleeping face for a while as she turned to me while sleeping. Her hand was on the cusion.

Looking at it and remembering the party time, I held her hand. When I saw her tightening her grip in no moment while holding back my hand, a smile crept on my lips as I kept staring at our joined hands.

Being like this, I felt asleep at some point.

Khushi’s P.O.V.

I was waiting for Arhaan to get back to our room as I wanted to ask him some questions as I decided something. While waiting, I started reading a book. But there was no sign of him and at last I fell asleep being like this.

When I woke up in Fazar time, Arhaan was still sleeping. I turned to get down from bed but got stopped as I felt my hand was in hold of Arhaan.

I kept staring at Arhaan being shocked for some moments and then I got my hand free carefully while trying not to disturb his sleep.

After prayer, I walked for sometime by the poolside and kept thinking over the matter I was waiting to talk to Arhaan.

Giving that thought a break, I got downstairs. Api was already in the kitchen. Seeing me, she smilingly got uttering, “Good morning, dear."

I greeted her back and helped her in making breakfast though she kept asking me to rest.

By the time we were done, Vai and Arhaan got downstairs. We took breakfast together and in between Vai asked me, “Khushi, do you have classes today?"

"Yes, Vai but later." hearing me vai nodded but when I saw Arhaan looking at me, I spoke up again, "But I will go earlier. I want to spend some time at the library."

As I uttered this, Arhaan continued taking his breakfast with a smile and looking at us, Api spoke up, “Yeah yeah. That's right. Otherwise how are we supposed to get after all you are Mrs. Khushi Arhaan Mahmud!"

Hearing Api, I turned to Arhaan confusingly only to find him giving api an irritated look whereas vai kept smiling.

Api spoke up again looking at me, "Dear, finish your breakfast and get ready for college. Arhaan will drop you on his way."

I nodded at that and when I was done with my breakfast, I got back to my room to get ready.

While on our way to college, finally I ended up asking Arhaan the question which was on my mind, "Arhaan, are you by any chance planning something?"

He gave me a confused look as he uttered, "What are you referring to?"

"My family" as soon as I uttered this, Arhaan's expression changed into a glaring one. He parked the car by the road side as he spoke up, "Khushi, at first you tell me what was your brother telling you last night?"

I spoke up looking down, "Nothing like that"

Hearing me, he scoffed. When I looked at him, he spoke up, "If it was nothing like that then what's with this expression of yours, Khushi?"

Without uttering anything, I just kept staring at him and he uttered again, "I was not planning anything earlier. But I am going to do now."

I spoke up sternly then, "No. You wont." and then giving me a strange look, Arhaan spoke up, "Where do you find this sternness of yours for defending them only? What happens to your sternness when you talk to them? Why do you let them treat you like this, Khushi? After treating you like that, they don't deserve forgiveness but punishment only."

Keeping silence for some moments, I spoke up only to get Arhaan smiling as he nodded at me....
