Chapter 61: Chapter 61
I felt a pang of pain in my chest by looking at Wade and the woman talking. It was like they have their own world that only the two of them knew. I quickly went out of there and ran into the shore. I didn't have the time to explore this place earlier since I was contented with the pool's scenery already. I sat at one of the lounges there while listening to the waves. I looked around and there was a group of people who looked like they were having a party. They were so happy and loud that I could hear how fun it was for them. I sighed and faced forward, how could life be so bitter to me? What have I done wrong? I thought of the things that I did before; aside from disrespecting that dirty old man who wished to marry me, I have done nothing wrong to anyone. I don't deserve to be hurt like this!
"What could you possibly be thinking that you looked so deep in your thoughts?" Drake said beside me. How did he find me here and how come I didn't notice him sitting beside me? Was I that distracted?
"What are you doing here, Drake?" I said.
"What are YOU doing here?" He said. "Everyone's out and having fun while you're here alone and sad, what's up? Where's your husband anyway?"
"I am not in the mood for anything so if you please just leave me alone," I said.
"Oh come on now, how can I leave such a beautiful woman alone when I know that she's not fine?" He said. "You know what you need?"
"What?" I said coldly. It's not like I wanted him to meddle but I just don't like to be disrespectful especially that he's my coworker.
"You need to party and let it all out." He simply said.
"No, thanks," I said. "I told you, I'm not in the mood for that."
"Come on! The other models are having fun. Didn't you see them?" He said pointing in the direction of the group that I saw earlier.
"That's them?" I said. I was shocked to know that they were partying because we still have to do some shoots tomorrow. "Why? We still have shoots tomorrow morning."
"Oh, haven't you heard? The shoot will be moved in the afternoon, 2 in the afternoon to be exact." He said as if it was the most obvious thing to do.
"Why?" I said.
"The photographer said that it would be nice to take shots during sunset." He said.
"Oh, that's great then," I said.
"That's why they're partying now since some of them are leaving right after the shoot; they won't stay for another night here." He said.
"Well, that explains the loud party," I said.
"So what do you say?" He said.
I sighed. I am really not in the mood to party. I just want to sulk in here and blame Wade for my misfortune. I think that would make me feel better than dancing out there.
"I told you, Drake, I'm not really in the mood for that," I said lazily.
"Did you and your husband fight?" He said. "Because if you did, that explains your face,"
"No, we didn't," I said. "We didn't fight, okay? Stop being so nosy; it doesn't suit you well."
"What suits me well then?" He said. "If I were you, I'd stop being so grumpy and join the rest of the team. You look like a sore loser who's having a moment in here. You know, just like the ones in the movies when their boyfriends leave them for another girl. "
"You know what?" I said. "Why don't you just leave and party and not be here looking like a loser with me? You said it yourself; they're having fun out there."
"Oh I love being with you," He said and laughed a bit. "I actually like messing around you. You're kinda cute when you're pissed; your cheeks turn red and your brows met."
"Are you hitting on me?" I said as I rolled my eyes. I didn't want him to have an impression that hitting on me was fine. I am married and whether that's real or not, I have to honor that especially that people knew we're really married. Plus, I am not in any way attracted to him.
"What do you think?" He said and winked. What the hell? This man is unbelievable! He met my husband in a not-so-nice way yesterday and now he's bluntly saying that he's hitting on me.
"I think you are insane," I said while shaking my head. "You know that I have a husband, right? You even met him already. Do you really want to do this?"
"Of course I know," He said. "Your husband is a walking billionaire my dear; no one would dare touch him or touch what's his and he was jealous of me earlier. Good thing he could still hold his temper around you."
I nodded. He was right. Wade is untouchable and so are his belongings. However, I am not a part of that anymore. I am on my own now and he can't tell me what to do anymore.
"That's why you should leave," I said trying to get him to leave me alone. I want my own peace back. I am really just emotional right now and I wanted to be alone but he's not letting me do that. I wanted to let all my emotions and heartaches out but I can't do that when he's here and messing with me.
"Is he prohibiting you from going out and having fun without him?" He said out of the blue. He was even holding his chain as if he thought of that for quite a while. "Is that why you're here all alone?"
I looked up to him with my furrowed brows. Wade has been so possessive of me when we were still together and up until now. He doesn't want me out that much since he only wanted me to be safe. What about now? The thought of him still controlling my life makes my blood boil in extreme anger. I can't be in here thinking about him while he's out there flirting with that Goddess of a woman! I can't let him have fun while I sulk in here. That's right! I can have fun without him too. I certainly can!
"No, of course, he's not and he can't," I said.
Drake stood up and offered his hand to me. "Let's join them then," He said.
I didn't think about it for another second and accepted his hand. I stood up beside him and we walked towards the party. Oh well, I hope I won't regret this.
