Chapter 6: Chapter 6

I met this guy during our wedding. He is Wade's best friend since childhood and he was Wade's best man that day. Wade got out of the water and went to Riley. I got out as well and took my robe from the lounge area. I went near them and greeted our guest.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey, Cami," He said as he took a step forward and kissed me on my cheeks.

"It's so nice of you to visit." I said.

"Yeah, I just have some things to discuss with your husband regarding some things at the office." He said.

"Oh, of course." I said.

"That is if it's okay with you since you are still on your honeymoon stage. I wouldn't take it against you if you don't want him to do business matters now." He said.

"No, it's fine, really," I said. "Honeymoon can wait, right?"

"Well, bro if you ask me, I wouldn't want to deal with the business now but since my wife agreed, then let's do it." Wade said.

"That's good," Riley said. "Cami, I promise you, it'll be quick."

"It's alright," I said. "Just take your time."

"Thanks, babe," Wade said. "We'll just change bro; I'll get back to you in a few."

"Sure bro," Riley said.

"Oh, if you need anything, you can just ask someone for it. Just feel at home and make yourself comfortable." I said before we walked out of there.

Wade and I walked together to our rooms. I noticed that he just passed by his room and continued walking towards mine.

"Where do you think you're going?" I asked him.

"Chill, I just want to walk you to your room." He said.

"Jeeez, there's no need for that." I mumbled.

"What did you say?" He said.

"Nothing." I said.

We reached my room and as soon as I opened the door, he entered.

"Okay, before you say anything, I'm just here to get some clothes, understood?" He said.

"Well, I didn't say anything at all." I said.

"You were just about to," He said.

"Whatever," I said. "I'll just take a shower."

I took some clothes and went inside the bathroom. I have learned my lessons and that is to not get out of the shower wearing my towel only.

I showered as fast as I could and changed into the clothes that I brought. I chose a simple white tee shirt and black shorts. I like wearing these kinds of outfits because they're so comfortable and convenient to wear. I looked at myself in the mirror and put on light make-up. When I was satisfied with how I looked, I immediately went out of my room and headed straight to the dining. I know Wade and Rileys' meeting will be just for a few hours so I ordered the maids to cook lunch for all of us. I would do it myself but I really don't have the talent for cooking.

It was around eleven when the maids were done cooking and just right on time, the two businessmen came out of Wade's study.

"Hey," I said approaching them. "You're just right on time, the food is ready. Let's have lunch together."

"Wow, you have a very caring wife here bro, you are so damn lucky." Riley said.

"Well, I couldn't ask for anyone else other than her as my wife and yeah I am more than lucky." Wade said.

We are really good at this whole pretending thing. We are like pros that can convince everyone that we really are together and that we are madly in love with each other.

"Wow, I am kinda jealous here, I wish I can find someone for me as well. I wanna get married soon." Riley said.

"Don't worry bro, she'll come and whoever she is, she is so damn lucky to have you." Wade said as he put his hand over my shoulder.

"I hope so bro," Riley said. "I really do."

"Anyway, are we done here? Because lunch is waiting and it's not good to keep the food waiting." I said.

"Yeah, come on bro, I can smell something delicious from the kitchen," Wade said.

"Cami, did you do the cooking?" Riley asked me.

"I really wish I did but I definitely have no talent in the kitchen so I'd rather leave it to the experts. I'm planning on taking lessons though." I said.

"Oh, thanks." I said.

"I had enough of your sweetness today and another minute with you doing that entire lovey-dovey and I'm gonna puke," Riley said. "I think I'll get to the kitchen now."

"We'll follow bro," Wade said while laughing at his friend's remarks.

"Thanks for accommodating Riley in the best way possible," Wade told me.

"Well, I am bored by not doing anything here and besides he's your best friend." I said.

He nodded. I smiled and made my way to the kitchen. Riley was already sitting there.

"Let's eat." I said and together we started eating.

"Wow, if I have someone taking care of me like that, I am gonna get so fat bro." Riley said when he saw me putting some food on Wade's plates just as he requested.

"Oh, you have no idea how much time I spent at the gym just to maintain this figure bro." Wade said.

I didn't know if we were just doing all this stuff because Riley was in front of us or it just naturally comes out of us. I mean, for the past few days we have gotten comfortable with each other's behavior.

"So, how's your father?" Riley asked me out of nowhere.

"He's fine," I said. "Why do you ask?"

"Nothing," He said. "I just thought about him for a moment, that's all."

"Well, I think he's doing just fine and has accepted the fact that I am married already." I said.

"That's good to hear." He said. "I mean, with all that's going on it's good that he has come to accept your marriage."

"Well, he has no choice and Wade's meeting him later today for some business matters," I said. "It's just what I expected of him."

"You hate your father that much?" He said.

I shrugged and just didn't answer his questions. I excused myself and told them that I'll just get the dessert.

"Hey," Wade said from behind me.

"Hey," I said.

"I'm sorry about Riley, he can be so nosy sometimes." He said.

"No, it's fine, really. There's nothing to apologize for." I said.

"Are you alright?' He said.

"I'm more than okay." I said and smiled at him. "We should go back. We don't want our guest waiting for us that long."

"Yeah, right," He said and he motioned for me to go first. "After you."

"Thank you.' I said.

We went back to the table and Riley was still eating. He keeps on apologizing about asking about my father and I kept on telling him that it was fine. We were in that conversation repeatedly until my phone rang. I took it out of my shorts pocket and looked to see who was calling. It was my father; speaking of the devil.
